Re: UO

  • I love to cuddle. I come from a hugging family and we always say we love each other. My mom bought my dad an extra wide recliner because I always have to sit with him and I was getting too large to fit in his chairs. Lol (don't mean to make people barf it was not always that way. My brothers had their fair share of fist fights with each other)

@Kaylajade8911‌ I also hate cuddling. Except with my baby. But apparently she also hates cuddling. So there we are.

@TheOtherJacobsons‌ you're fabulous! Also Uggs aren't any better in places that do have cold weather. They're downright stupid in a place like New England where it rains all the time. I have a cute pair of Sorels that I love and that are also functional.

@SPurp13‌ I've only been back at work for 2 days, and so far my husband has been able to be home with DD, so maybe I'll be changing my tune in a few weeks. But as much as it hurts to be away from DD, I don't feel like I did any more or any less "work" at work than I did while I was staying home with her. I don't think you can really compare the two, especially when you add multiple children into the equation.

I guess in a way I agree with you because I really dislike when SAHMs say that they have the hardest job in the world and that they work harder than WM. But I definitely don't think they have it easier.

    Edit:words

Definitely not easier! Which is why I couldn't do it. But the flip is also true. I just want everyone to realize being a mom is hard, equally, for different reasons. Some people act as though going back to work is so easy and I'll have so much more time to myself. No. I THINK I'll be ok to get runs in while she sleeps in the morning, but if I don't, I don't get another shot that day to try like I would if I was at home. I think I'd also feel less guilt about working out if I stayed at home because so much of my time will already be spent away from her when I go back to work. BUT I will get adult time and out of the house time. Pros and cons, yo.

  • Being a SAHM mom is hard in different ways than being a WM and vice versa. One is not harder than the other. Both have benefits and downfalls.

You win for saying it in less words. I'm tired.

My family do not touch. Ever. And we don't say I love you
It's actually affected me pretty strongly and I've had to really try to let it go for the sake of my relationship. My children seem to be my exception.
We don't say I love you either. DHs family says I love you all the time. It used to make him mad when I didn't say it before hanging up the phone. Sorry dude, it wasn't in my normal vocabulary. Now I do say it all the time to him and DD but still not so much my family. I often wonder what my mom thinks when she hears me say it all the time.

Speaking of dumb, I hated Napolean Dynamite. So stupid and not funny.

Muscular men make me shudder. It's just not my thing. I prefer some meat on their bones and no veins popping out.

Totally agree. I don't like muscles at all. Toned arms and legs yes. Nice shapely shoulders, lovely.

    Six pack - no thanks
Totally agree! I hate the Popeye look! Big upper body with little legs. They always wear super tight shirts too. No thank you.

I don't wear makeup. I was sans makeup in my picture on the GTKY thread the other day, IF and that's a big if. If I do wear make up it's a small amount of eyeliner, maybe mascara(most brands irritate my eyes) and some foundation. I feel fake when I wear a lot, it doesn't feel like me. I like my naked face and that's all my husband is used to seeing.
Exactly the same. No makeup on a day to day basis. If I want to "dress up" I put on a little brown eyeshadow and a little eyeliner only on the bottom. That's it. That's all I own lol.

Me too!! I don't know your skin type, but if you don't love putting on foundation (I hate how it makes my skin feel) you should definitely try a mineral powder. A little lotion on your face, a very light dusting if the mineral powder, and you're good to go. Feels like you're not wearing anything, but looks awesome.

The most I do is the mineral powder, a little bronzer on my cheekbones and eyeliner. Done in under 5 minutes.
