I saw something somewhere about a guy who makes penises for furry costumes, since there is a huge underground sex subculture involved. He sculpts them and casts them with the intent to be used. The image I saw was for a dragon penis. Just putting that bit of oddness out there.

I felt really bad for these people at the furry convention It would really suck to be outed and humiliated for a hobby that's largely ridiculed even by the geek community. This was supposed to be the one safe space they had all year to let their freak flags fly without commentary or harassment and then shit like this happens.

I can see the humor in this clip, but at the same time those people in costumes are probably really ashamed of their interests and to see all this all over the news probably makes them feel terrible.

I dunno, maybe I'm being sappy because I'm riding a huge wave of estrogen, but this whole story just made me kind of sad.

I would agree if this was a private party or something, but any time you have a public convention centered around a sexual practice, you have a recipe for comedy gold. Public is public, you take your chances.

Furry =/= sexual practice. Some people just think it's fun and cute. I have some friends who are furries and just enjoy dressing up as cartoon characters, sort of like LARPing.

Oh... okay, that is *totally* crossing a line! I'm very open minded but that would freak me out enough to actively avoid furry conventions.

But still, I stand by my opposition to gassing out furries, sexual fetish or not.
