What is a baby name that you love/like that you just can't use?

My boy names are Grant and Wyatt. Both names are in the family but not namesake worthy so I can't use either one of them.

I'm not sure about a girl name.

Charlotte: My MIL does not like the name because a common NN would be Char and her name is Charlene, a lot of people call her Char which she doesn't like (hates her first name and NN).

Mine is a middle name. Nichole.

It was my middle name before I was adopted and the crazy adopted mom changed it to the same as hers. I used to want to change it back (because I hate anything that reminds me of her), but then I thought I would just use it as a middle name for my child one day. That was until I told MH about it, and he told me that Nichole was the name of some crazy, stalker girl that accused him of a bunch of craziness in high school.

Totally ruined my plans.

Mine is Charlotte too! I love it (and the idea of using the nickname "Charlie" for a little girl), but no less than three of my cousins (same side) have brought that name up to me individually as something they want to use for their next daughters. Oh well! It wasn't the top pick for me anyway!

Lillian - b/c my younger sister used it

All of our boys names have been used on our previous sons. We're out of names we can agree upon for both boys and girls.
I love Lydia (DH doesn't). He likes Laura (I don't). lol....It's going to be a long process to name this child.

I also like Hannah, Hazel and Henry but our last name starts with H and it would just be too much.

Mine is also a middle name. Kay.
I wanted Haylee Kay just because it's different but it's my DH's exgirlfriend's mom's name (sorry for the confusion) and as crazy as they are, they'll think he wanted to name it after her. We have mutual friends so they find out everything.

Lillian but my cousin used it. Charlotte but it's rising popularity and our common last name it would be bad. Jack because a bratty child I worked with ruined it. Ben because it's overused in my extended family.

I LOVE the name Jude for a boy but my daughters name is Sienna and I will always think of the celebrities Jude Law and Sienna Miller and would hate if people thought of them when they heard my kids names. So bummed. Boy names are impossible for me.

I love the name Jude as well but I just can't put it will our J last name. I'm the same way with Julia for a girl. I can't handle first and last names starting with the same letter.

I like Grayson, Zachary, and Ethan but they are in our family. Also I love Nolan for boy but that is dh's name and he doesn't care for the jr stuff lol.

I love the name Jocelyn but my husband went to HS with a Jocelyn he hated and pictures her whenever he hears it.
He's in love with the boy name Deacon which I'm only so-so on. He said he'd agree to Jocelyn if I agree to Deacon but I'm not willing to take that chance. I thought about being really evil and telling him the genetic testing we are going to do doesn't cover sex and if it's a girl going ahead with that agreement.
But I won't.

Boy - Dominic Can't use it as it was an ex-boyfriend for me.

Girl - Kennedy. This was actually my maiden name and I'd love to use it, but it would sound TERRIBLE with our last name.

I also like Emma, but my husband's niece who is named "Ama" decided she wanted to be called Emma because that's what everyone at school called her. So now we can't use it (it was questionable before that because it was so close to Ama, anyways)

Boy: Cullen (DH's Grandpa's middle name), but we are skeptical because we don't want people to think we named our kid after Twilight.

Adele

In my family, we have matronymic middle names (my middle name is my mom's first name. Her middle name is her mother's first name, etc.)

The full German spelling of my first name is Adelheide, two diminutives of which are "Adele" and "Heidi." I was thinking of using Adele as the middle name instead of Heidi...then...well...

Adele the singer made that name WAY too popular of a diminutive, just as it's now so completely overdone using Liam.

It was going to be so obscure. :-( Ah well. Heidi it is.

I love William but cannot use it because it is DH grandfather's name and no one talks to him anymore. Still working on talking my DH into it because his grandfather goes by Bill not William.

Then girls names are a sore subject because my husband hates all the names I like... Piper, Vera, charlotte, Cora, Hannah, Amelia, teagan, and Selah. So not sure what is an option for a girl?!?!

I have always planned on naming a first son Jude in honor of my mother, Judith, since she passed. However, my DH's best friend's name is Jude. Oh and he's actually marrying my SIL, DH's sister. Andplusalso, our last name starts with J and I hate matching letter first and last names. Pretty bummed about it too!

Lucy - we have too many red haired genes between the two of us to use it (says DH).

Ella - DHs cousin named her daughter Ellie.

Robert - too common throughout both families, and we'd use it to honor one person, but dislike the others with this name. So no.

Aubrey - brother called "dibs" on Audrey for his future daughter (he is married with 1 kid so far, so I'll respect it). This one I'm not mad about, though. Wasn't over the moon about it anyways.

Prudence - guilty pleasure name that DH immediately vetoed.

I was dead set on Madison for my daughter...then I married DH, his brothers daughters name is Madison and she's only 3.
