I'm a stay-at-home mom and so receiving a little bit of "glam" every month will brighten me up January will be my first month receiving my first Ipsy bag and I can't wait! The reviews are really good on their subscription service. It's only $10 a month ( you can cancel at any time) and you receive 4 to 5 cosmetic products, hair products, makeup tools etc. all in a new bag every month.
I'm not spam I promise! I seriously just subscribed to it and I'm happy about it. It was one of my Christmas gifts. I am a stay at home mom and so its the little things that help keep me feeling pretty.
^ people have posted regarding ipsy and birchbox in the past so I thought it would be okay for me to as well...I was just curious...maybe I didn't come off the right way?
Confession: when blogs link to their ipsy/ citrus lane/ stitch fix - I purposefully don't click on it and just go to the site. I am petty and don't want to give them $30 of free clothes
I can understand that. I'm a stay at home mom to a 6 month old. I've only had ipsy for a week and its just something im excited about. I don't have that many things happen that are exciting except my LO first tooth just cut through.
How do you have ipsy for a week but your first bag is in January?
Btw I have been getting Ipsy and Birchbox for about 3 years now.. they are hit and miss each month. Ipsy gives you the same products different colors basically.. and birchbox likes perfume samples and foil packets.
"Sorry guys, I could see how this could come off as spammy. Since I'm not spam but a new mama just like you, I would love to participate in this board more and get to know you guys."
You have to sign up for the subscription before the beginning of the month...so I signed up a couple days ago so I couldn't receive Decembers bag since it was past the first.
I was trying to choose between ipsy and birchbox and I finally chose ipsy because the foil packets that birchbox give I wasn't okay with.

Because I'm in a really good mood (hubby and I DTD last night hehehe) I'll answer your question. I have an ipsy subscription, it sucks! I am canceling it today. It's the same crap every month. :-q
Idk folks, maybe I am naive or we just haven't had many MUD/AE posts in a while, but I think OP really was unaware of the transgression here.
@Dionysian, if you're new to the board, please read the "New Here? Read me first!" post on the first page. Everyone jumped all on your shiz because it kinda seems like you walked into a room full of strangers trying to peddle us something, and that just feels icky. If you participate and involve yourself on the board, we can really be a great and useful source of info.
That said, if you really came to a parenting board just looking for input on a makeup subscription box... then you might want to find another board to be a part of (like, one that has to do with makeup or something...)
I realize this, but it's after the fact and I can't remove the post. So, I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do at this point. The fact that one of the moms called everyone a bunch of "salty hoes" and seems a bit more disrespectful then my post regarding ipsy. Moms have posted regarding ipsy before and not received the backlash that I have. I have been on this site since my first trimester and have only read posts but haven't commented. Maybe I should have, but I'm realizing at this point that I shouldn't have joined at all. Thanks for treating me the way that you have ladies.

I'm not sure you've read very many posts here if you think "salty hoes" was disrespectful...
Salty hoes isn't disrespectful around here. Promise.
Sometimes we get these posts and it's just someone spamming. They post and run hoping someone uses their link. They get banned. That's what I thought you were. I apologize for coming across too harshly.
wow! I didn't expect you saying that...thank you...really. I understand everyone's concern and defense that arose from me posting that...and it wont happen again.
I'm thinking about asking if any mothers have tried elimination communication rather than Ipsy lol I use cloth diapers right now, but my older sister mentioned trying it with her next LO and I'm curious on whether its extremely stressful or not.
Re: Have any moms tried Ipsy?
If you knew us, you would know us salty hoes don't like this sort of thing.
