Welcome to the Been There, Done That Check-in!!! Check-ins will be every Tuesday. Your check-in leaders are @Carol77B and @Justone13.

This is check-in is for anyone who is past their 2nd IVF cycle (including any FETs) or if you have suffered multiple losses. If you haven’t made it to your ER but have done at least two cycles, this place would be great for you! After multiple failed cycles we aren’t as chipper and full of sunshine like we were during our first cycle. This group is intended to give us a safe place where we can vent, update, obtain info and bond with other veteran IVFers. If you are currently cycling or waiting on a cycle this group would be a great place for you! You are more than welcome to join the monthly group if you are currently cycling and if you are "hanging onto a dream" feel free to stay with that group also and you can always post here, too! Any questions or concerns just ask!!

So we can keep a running list of all you lovely ladies, please fill us in on where you are in your journey below. Please include what cycle number you are in, where you are in the process, and what your plans are for the future.

I had my saline sono and calendar review yesterday and my endometrial biopsy today. Barring bad results from the biopsy (which should be back the end of the week or early next week), I should be ready to cycle in January! I started prednisone today and will need to do blood work with KK in 2 weeks. I start Lupron the 22nd and my baseline is the 30th. Right now my transfer is tentatively set for 1/20.

Hello Ladies,

I would like to introduce myself.. and please let me know if I can join this nice group.

My name is Mariana, I have been through two IVF cycle, both a complete failure. Recently I had my WTF appointment and my local RE recommended us to give up or use DE, nether of which I was ready to do yet. Due to my repeat failure (not so many in my opinion) I was told by RE that few places would be willing to help us (which include her clinic apparently) since we weren't likely to be successful.

I was devastated! After crying for too many days, I decided to look for other clinics and now we have 2 appointments in January. Hopefully one of them will be willing to help us!

I would like to wish you all best of luck and thank you for reading this ;;)

Hi @mariana81 you are very welcome to join our group. I'm so sorry your RE has given up on you, that is so unfair and two failed cycles isn't that many. I think you definitely need to get other opinions and I'm glad you have two appointments in Jan. I'm in the process of getting my records so I can get a second, opinion, too, because my RE seems to have lost interest in my care. We definitely need to be our own best advocates and fine doctors who want to work with us.

Buttmonkey34 FX that AF will finally show up, but at least ovulation is back! I'm sorry it's a longer delay at your clinic, but that's so cool that it'll be new and improved when you get to use it! Wine drinking is one of my favorite holiday activities, too! I'm not as much in the Christmas-y mood right now, either. After my BFN on Friday, I drank a bottle and almost a half of my favorite wine (which I brought) at my friend's Christmas party. And already planning for a similar indulgence at another friends NYE party!!!

Hey Ladies,

I am officially a BFN. You can take me off the cycling list. Sorry I did not post last week. It was too much. We are hoping to do another FET in January if my nurse ever calls me back. She has been on vacation since Thanksgiving and I am getting tired of waiting. I am not a patient person!!

QOTW - I love decorating and lights!! I love going to see light shows!!!

AFM- I just booked my second opinion appointment and it's for 12/30!!! And with the head of the practice!!! And the new patient coordinator was so nice to me!!! So I'm feeling very positive about my decision to go for a second opinion. It never occurred to me that I would be able to get an appointment so soon, so I feel excited that I'm making progress.

QOTW: I love Christmas lights and jewelry and have already started wearing my Christmas tree earrings, pins, etc. I'm not feeling as Christmas-y as I usually am, but I'm working on it!

AFM: IM PUPO!!! My FET went great today. My re changed his schedule and was actually able to do my transfer for me which totally made me even more positive about it all!! My beta is December 22nd but let's be real I'm a POAS girl!! It's going to work. I just know it's going to work! Off to acupuncture then home to the couch!

AFM: nothing new--at all. Been benched from all things TTC since October-- and benches be lonely. I will start Lupron next month after I go in to see my RE around CD2 or CD3.

Hello can you add me too? I am doing the MicroFlare protocol for IVF #3 and need to begin on a Tuesday (no idea why it really matters) after I finish pills so I have to go for 1 more week on BCPs.

@mariana81 I remember you from september Sweet peas. Welcome! I am so sorry you find yourself here, but it is a wonderful group of supportive ladies and we've all been through the ringer. The advice here is wise and warm. As for your RE... Where are you located? Have you looked into the big clinics in NYC or Minnesota or Colorado? There are women that come from all over the world for my clinic. (Weil Cornell in NYC) You are 33 and are so young to give up. I would definitely go for those second opinions. My first RE was a total dud. HUGS HUGS HUGS.

Hi ladies. I don't think I've checked in recently. Still trucking along on my meds for a (hopefully soon) FET. Despite being on estrogen patches, vaginal estrogen, and Viagra for the last 4 weeks, my lining is still being stubborn at a 4.5. My RE is willing to try a G-CSF wash as a last ditch effort. The drug name is Neupogen and it's used primarily for building white blood cells in cancer patients going through chemo. There are only limited studies for it being used as a uterine wash to improve lining. Hopefully this is the boost my lining needs to get where it needs to be.

Hi ladies, Sorry for being AWOL for the past few days. I have been very stressed and depressed. As some of you know, my fresh IVF cycle did not end up very well. They were able to retrieve five eggs but only one was fertilized. It was very disappointing as I have been having IVIg infusions and prednisone treatment to control my immune system for the past 2.5 months. I have also been doing everything that "It Starts with an Egg" book suggested since August. I have been on paleo diet, as some suggest that dairy and gluten are inflammatory and bad for egg quality. I have been swallowing 30 pills every day, mostly supplements, to increase the quality and quantity of my eggs. And, yet, only one egg is fertilized. Thankfully today I got the news that they were able to freeze it. I still do not know its grade but am hoping that it is a good one.

I now have two embryos on ice (one from the April cycle) and need to decide how to proceed. And, that has been very stressful decision for me.

My reproductive immunologist Dr. KK wants me to continue with IVIg infusions (have three more) and do a quick FET now. She and also Dr. Braverman (who I emailed over the weekend out of desperation), both think that IVIg has cumulative effects and the ones that I have done so far may still have positive effects for a quick FET cycle.

It all sounds good but my IVIg is OOP. And, with the followup bloodwork which is also OOP, each infusion is costing me multiple thousands of dollars. And, we do not know whether it works.

Dr. Braverman thinks that I need to get a lap done because he is convinced that I have silent endo. I am thinking that maybe if I get the lap done and clean my endo, then I may not need as many IVIgs as Dr. KK wants me to get. It is also not only three IVIgs. She wants me to be on IVIgs during pregnancy. I simply cannot afford this.

So, I am either going to stop all the treatment and go to Dr. Braverman, start from scratch and get my FET done in the spring. Or, I will suck it up, get a 0% interest rate credit card and try the FET.

Anyways, that has been a long post. I hope you ladies are having a better week.

zeynsom I wish I had some advice for you! I don't, so I'm sending you thoughts and prayers and virtual hugs, instead. At so many times during this process, I wish I had someone to just tell me exactly what to do, versus me having to figure it all out and worry that *I'm* making the wrong decisions.

@zeynsom Good luck with your decision. I don't think either doctor is necessarily right or wrong, they just have different approaches. I think you should just go with what your gut tells you to do.

@fizzachaudhary I don't have high PAI-1, but my insulin levels were normal but not optimal so Dr. KK advised me to eat low carb and lose weight. The low carb has helped me drop 20+ lbs, but I have put 2 or 3 back on while cycling in November and I am trying to get back on track. The holidays make it so hard! The clotting disorder I have is some random mutation that I don't think any other doctor but KK tests for, but the fact that I have poor blood flow to my uterus and APA + is why she prescribes the lovenox and baby aspirin. She is pretty conservative when it comes to clotting/blood flow issues and treats every possible issue. Are you on pred for your NKC and TNFa?

@mariana81Dr. Davis is a ROCKSTAR! And he is so so so nice. He did my first transfer. He tends to take on some of the most difficult cases so you are in good hands. All the Drs at cornell tend to talk and share info on cases so you have multiple Drs eyes on your case. I have also heard great things about RMA. My SIL has her 3 little boys through them in NJ. No more tears! You got this! >:D<

Officially started my FET meds on Tuesday. We decided to transfer 2 embryos. I know I should be excited but I'm more like 90% scared and 10% excited given my past history. Traveling to Chicago to see KK next week for blood flow us and ivig.

QOTD: I was a Scrooge last year but this year I really got into decorating.

I finally heard back from my nurse and we have a new plan for February's FET. I will go on BC after my next period, and then I will have an Endometrial Scratch done a week before my next period. I will wear 3 patches and still take Estrace. They are hoping all of this will increase my lining and get us KU! I like that we are being more aggressive!! Hurry up February and get here!!!!

@zeysom I'm so very sorry you are down and I wish I had the crystal ball you need. I'm sending you all of my T&P.

AFM: I had my ER yesterday morning and they retrieved 10 eggs. Count them...TEN. Take that 8 follicle DOR DX! At last count before ER I had 13 follicles, which is a whopping 5 more than any of my prior cycles or initial AFC. EPP + ISWTE supplements = I now have a chance!

Fert report came in today: 10R/6M/6F

Next stop: PGS biopsy on day 5 or 6.

ETA QOTD: In all my excitement above, I forgot to answer this! I love love all things Christmas, but if I have to name one it would be the Christmas lights on my house. They go up the day after Thanksgiving and can be seen from way down the street. If I could go Griswold, I would.
