Guys, I had a really scary day yesterday. I ended up calling out for the day because of a stomach virus, but decided that I would go in for the second half of the day after I had some toast and tea. I went in, taught one class and then less than ten minutes into the second one I felt this little gush. I reached down and touched my thigh and saw blood on my fingers (thankfully I was wearing black pants). I stood up immediately and left the room to go to the bathroom. As I was walking down the hall I could feel the blood running down to my knees and spreading across my thighs. When I got to the office (the bathroom is in there) I told my principal--with whom I had a meeting scheduled after school to tell her I was pregnant--something was wrong since she was standing there as I ran inside. She called the nurse who came immediately and was shocked when I let her in. I have never seen that much blood in my life; the bathroom looked like a murder scene. And I was passing huge golf ball clots. I was hysterical of course and she told me they had to call 911 because I was losing too much blood. So they put the school on lockdown and the ambulance came and wrapped me in sheets and took me to the hospital. MH came and met me there and we waited forever--par for the course at the ER. When we finally made it to ultrasound we were prepared for the worst--but the baby was right there, tucked away safely with a nice healthy heartbeat!! I was so relieved when I saw he was still there that I burst into tears and rolled over and fell into MH's arms. I have never felt such relief. So of course I am going to follow up with my OB today and am taking the next two days off. I am still a little scared to hear what she says. The ER said it us a "threatened miscarriage". But everything shows fine, so I'm going with that for now. Anyway, if you made it through this whole thing, thank you so much. Any input, advice etc. is much appreciated. Anecdotes welcomed.
