Welcome to today's episode of...WTF Wednesday! (Go for u/o, symptoms and bitchin too if you like.)

Sorry if there is already one on here I looked thorough and didn't see any. And this has been bugging me for days.

Noman Reedus totally grosses me out. Completely. Ugh. Every picture I see of the guy just makes me super uncomfortable.

***I have edited the title. I am not sure how I completely missed the fact that u/o is Thursdays. Either way, there was no where for me to logically complain about Norma Reedus and his skeevy-ness.***

Went to patient first last night because i feel like crap.. i have a viral infection and im not contagious... Doctor barley touched me but perscribed me two different meds to help with my stuffy ness because my right nostril is about 50% blocked and my left is about 90%. After she tells me all that she says but im going to give you the scrips so that you can check with your OB first before taking them...Seriously cant you just prescribe me something that you as a DOCTOR know is safe to take during the second trimester???

I usually just call my OB for medication I need.. She'll just call it in.
  • When I found out I was pregnant it was BC of my annual pap .. So they sent me for my blood and urine screening. I failed the drug test. BC I was prescribed Valium and lortab for a neck injury . ( I also had surgery) anyway.. So I wasn't on anything illegal.. I just didn't know I was pregnant. So I quit cold turkey. Fast forward .. I had to take another urine drug screen today.. On the orders it said " repeat drug screen FAIL + " I wanted to choke the nurse.. Like she had to put that... I wasn't talking anything illegally and has no clue I was pregnant and stopped the day I found out . I felt like an idiot going for the lab work today with that paper. :(
  • Haha @amnat84‌ my MIL is like that too. As soon as I give her a tiny bit of attention, she thinks we're BFF and takes it way too far.

So when I saw her two weeks ago I had this cold BS as well and she said if it gets worse to go to my Primary Care. I couldn't get an appointment so that is why I went to Patient First.

  • I'll post my WTF Wednesday here.
Our receptionist is sick today, no big deal. But she calls me this morning to tell me she broke up with her boyfriend over the weekend and now he's texting her and threatening to show up at her work. She doesn't think he's going to actually do it, but I should be aware. What the Fuck??? I'm not fearful or anything but the drama with her is just never-ending.

Sorry I'm from AUS, why were you having a drug test done? Is it standard when your pregnant you get drug tested?

  • Ok my UO... I have zero nice things to say to anyone who gets rid of a pet when a baby comes along. In my eyes, there is absolutely NO excuse. You got the pet knowing there was a certain level of responsibility, you kow you have that pet for a long time and it relies on you to provide it with a loving home.

Dogs are my weak point. My little dog is my world, my baby, I would fight tooth and nail for him and there is no option that would ever EVER make me get rid of him. He is a member of the family, you don't get rid of a child just because they are being difficult to teach or make life a little bit harder? Dogs are so incredibly loyal and loving to their owners and for the owner to not show the same loyalty just upsets me.  It's a real sore spot with me

I absolutely agree with what you are saying, but just to play devil's advocate... What if the baby was born with terrible allergies to the pet?  I don't really have an answer for this either, but it scares me that could happen!

  • @ilovelucyv‌ just curious - why are you going so far too hide it?

I told my manager but from here on I decided no big announcement. I will just let people notice as I show. Which will probably be after Christmas vacation.
  • I feel like my baby is pushing my guts up to my rib cage. I have to take my staff out to lunch today for Christmas and I can't think of eating anything except the free bread thanks to my numerous aversions.

it was mostly because of the interview yesterday which was really supposed to be about a month ago then got rescheduled.  as much as my employer likes to be perceived as family friendly my personal experience with management is that they are very discriminatory toward pregnant women and mothers with young children.

another reason is that I am a lot more paranoid with this pregnancy than I was with my first, even though I have no reason to believe anything is wrong.  my symptoms are practically non-existent this time, but I know that doesn't mean anything.  last time I was blissfully ignorant of a lot of things like missed miscarriages and this time I'm not.  I just want to wait until after the NT scan next week.

------Edited bc quote box always fails on mobile! !!! -----------------

That makes sense. Best of luck on the job! I actually just received a promotion (same company, same department, different supervisor) and haven't yet told my new boss that I will be on leave for 3 months next year. I hope he will take it well!
  • I thought I was all over the erratic hormonal emotional thing... but apparently not. I started bawling while watching the light show on youtube to "Let it go". Really?!?

@beersandweirs--I thought the same thing too. OMG, my little Monster is the absolute love of my life, and I could not imagine having to get rid of him if he--heaven forbid--has an issue with the baby. If for some reason he does, we already have a backup plan. My Mom is going to take him for however long we need until the baby gets older and it's not an issue.
As much as I love my doggie and it will break my heart if something happens, I have the sneaking suspicion that my baby's health/safety will trump Monster's ruling of the throne in our house. I would have a harder time with it if he had to go to someplace other than my Mom/Dad's and it was permanent, however.

  • OK now my WTF Wednesday:

I had the flu shot in October...but I currently have the flu. Doctor was like, "oh, well the flu shot doesn't cover the stomach flu." Oh, great. The best kind. Awesome.

It's lots of Hallmark cheesiness for me today and yesterday. :)

Begrudgingly, there's probably not a lot that could be done in this instance. Luckily my dogs breed is recommended for those with allergies, my SO is allergic to most dogs but has no problem with ours. I know I have an extremely strong opinion on this because I have grown up surrounded by animals and never had any problems, it could be completely different for others which is why I tend to keep my mouth firmly shut when people broach this subject lol! But it does bring me onto another random moan. People who give their pets away "free to a good home". This is only because we have lots of problems with dog fighting here and those who do it have anonymously made it well known that they specifically look for animals being given away for free to use as bait. It disgusts me and I always open my mouth if I see someone trying to give their pet away for free.
    That's horrible, I can't believe some people!

  • I don't really have any bitches, surprisingly! I got my Diclegis refilled, so I'm feeling pretty decent at this very moment, aside from serious neck and shoulder pain/tension. DH has been such a good sport about rubbing my shoulders every night.

I couldn't imagine having to give away a pet. My best friend gave her cat away that she'd had since college just because she moved and didn't want to have 2 cats, so she kept the younger one and gave up the older one. I found it to be very bizarre.

Also, just a random, @dzashley, your siggy pic is gloriously horrifying! :)

And another random that I just discovered - For those of you that live near or know of Krispy Kreme, on Friday it's buy one dozen, get one dozen free donuts! Go online and get a coupon so you can get that shit!

  • These freaking debilitating headaches I've been getting on the daily are really chapping my ass!

This is what happens when I thought I was fortunate to not have had a terrible 1st trimester like some of my poor June baby sisters. Along comes the 2nd tri with head pounding, eye splitting headaches nearly every damn day. GTFO!!

I'm such a crazy dog lady that when I told my brother I was pregnant his FIRST response was "oh poor rusty!" (This dog flies with me on the airplane and goes everywhere I go pretty much). I am soooo with you on this and I fight my best friends about it. Although, I GET IT if it comes to safety and you dog started attacking your children. But WTF, my best friends think I'm a nutso dog lady and they all go "oh just wait until you have kids it will all change". Yeah, maybe... But I would never give my dogs away bc they become too much work now. My best friend cages her German Shepard outside (in the winter too!!!!) bc she doesn't like the dog hair now that she has kids. I finally talked her into a good bath and a furminator and he gets to stay inside. My other friend gave her dog to her mom bc she didn't feel like taking the dog out and it was too much work (she doesn't even work!!!). It such a sore spot for me too. These dogs don't know any better, YOU signed up for it when you took them. Those damn dogs in the shelter that are 9-10 bc their family moved and they couldn't take them? HELLO I wouldn't be moving into a place that doesn't she dogs bc it's my responsibility. I'm sorry to the past post about the dogs, it's nothing personal just an UO (on a Wednesday!). It stirs me up big time
  • @mommacandi‌ thanks! It was not my first choice but so many people called dibs on some really funny ones! Also I forget about the siggies bc I'm mobile 90% of the time. I need to log on at home to see everyone's else's.
  • I'm with you all on the dog issue. My FIL's secretary tried telling me I'd need to get rid of my cat and my dog would have to live outside because he'll be jealous and won't like the baby. I lost it with her. My dog is my baby, and at this point in time I have no worries about how he will act around the baby.

  • My WTF is my life... My cat got sick yesterday. We took him to the vet who didn't find out what was wrong, pumped him full of liquids and sent him home. He got worse overnight and I took him to the ER. Only to find out he had heart failure and we had to put him down. He was only 2 years old.

On top of feeling sad about this, we spent a ton on the two vet visits (and putting him down) AND I missed work today (no PTO). AND my DH has an outpatient surgery tomorrow I have to miss work for.

Feeling so stressed that we're not saving what we should before baby. We just bought a safer care, too, so those payments are weighing on me. It feels like when it rains it poors.

    And I miss my kitty.

  • First of all, my DH and I are dog lovers as well.  We had two dogs when DS arrived and picked up a stray that had been hanging around our house for a few months after DS was born.  So now we have three and would NEVER give them up.

My WTF is why are there so many damn learning tablet options for kids?  I think there are more options for kids tablets then there are for adults.  I'd love to get one for DS for Christmas, so he'll stay off our iPads.  Any recommendations?

Aw, sweetie, I'm so sorry. We had to put our old cat down last October (as in, a little over a year ago) after a seizure/stroke/something that she just didn't come back from. It broke my heart. And now I'm at work doing the chin wiggle because it still makes me sad. And, you know, I'm a hyper emotional pregnant lady. Lots of hugs your way.
