@cogdis I'm not sure, he just started in on me saying "you gained 8 pounds since your last appointment and you need to work on that, it's too much too fast etc, I know we just had Halloween and now it's Thanksgiving then Christmas but you can't just do whatever you want, try to get more exercise by taking walks." So now I'm paranoid that my gain is too much for him.
Thank you for the trigger warning! I will add one to my original post, I didn't even think of that as a trigger. So sorry ladies!
To bad you can't tell him to go fuck himself. 8 pounds doesn't seem bad to me. Some doctors are harder than others so don't let it get you down.

@Dani_Love How strange. I would think it would be normal for you to gain some weight quickly after having lost so much during pregnancy. Our bodies are, after all, designed to put ON weight while pregnant, not lose it! And research consistently demonstrated that short term weight loss (like I imagine the 30lbs was) is consistently regained (fairly easily and relatively quickly) in about 90% of cases (even without pregnancy being a factor).
Anyway, none of that matters. What really matters is your health (emotional and physical). I really hope you're feeling healthy and your doc. doesn't upset you! :-)
@foxslaw and @psychobutthead, thank you! I felt like telling him to take a walk but figured he knows better than I do. I usually don't worry or feel ashamed, I'm pretty comfortable in my skin but since that last visit I've been questioning myself.
@cogdis I was replying to the other ladies when you posted! I thought the exact same thing, that if I had gained back what I lost and then MORE on top of that I would understand his concern but I'm still not at my original weight. He also mentioned my GTT coming up at the next appointment like if I gained like that again I would fail or something. I usually have no complaints on him but that last appointment just put me off and now that I'm going back Monday I'm worrying.
My work computer sucks, I've had two programs just NOT work in the last two days and now the main program I need to be in to ACTUALLY work is not working so neither am I... they can suck my big toe!
GAH! And who in the ACTUAL FUCK is leaving GOBS AND GOBS of bloody TP in the bathroom stall... Geeze, flush the damn toilet after yourself! I can't be the only person who DOESN'T want to see that shit!
Can you tell I'm over it?! Lol... and still, 2 more months of this shit hole... yay!
And now I want a pickle...

I'm sitting around waiting for my work computer to restore itself to an earlier back up because Internet Explorer decided not to work anymore. This is probably from the 2 hour update it did on friday and I'll probably have to redo that. Thinking of heading home early.....

My doctor got on my case for being 1lb over the recommended weight gain for the month, so I feel ya. @Dani_Love
Im still within recommendation and got told to watch it the rest of pregnancy. ..also have had 0 issues. I was so mad bc pre pregnancy im pretty nuts about my weight. Ughh
I'm bummed because I just found out that my SIL, niece and nephew won't be coming to my shower this weekend. SIL got a concussion, so she's not supposed to be driving and being that they live several states away, it's just not possible. Obviously I want her to be safe and rest up, but I was really looking forward to seeing them. They won't be coming home for Christmas, so the next time I see them will likely be after I have LO.
Using my computer downtime for good use...booked a pre natal massage for friday. Question for it...it's an independent practice. Do I tip? I always tip if going to a massage envy type place but unsure if tipping is standard when it's an individual setting their own rates.

As someone who works in the service industry, I ALWAYS tip. No matter what. Even if it's a couple extra bucks
Thanks @foxslaw ...so I guess question is how much. Generally I do 20% for massage if it's a group place especially a chain. If the person is setting their own rates though does that change? DH actually was the one that said somthing and made me think of this.
Ok I have been really trying to keep my cool, but I really need to vent this or else I think I might murder someone......
Anyone else's baby shower thrower person massively flaking out on them?
I mean, I never expected to receive a baby shower, but my mother insisted she throw one for me. Well since insisting back in August, the date keeps getting pushed back closer and closer to our due date. And she absolutely refused to talk details until after her vacation, which ended Nov. 1st. The new date as it stands right now is Jan 4th. However we still don't have any other details solidified, like where it's taking place, what time, who to RSVP to, or even invitations to send out and people have been asking me about it left and right the closer we get to the holidays and I have nothing to tell them.
Now, my mom has tried taking it upon herself to map out the nursery in the midst of all this. But wait, it gets better. Whenever she makes plans with me to discuss these details, she has to cancel because she ends up double booking herself; today marks #6 of her cancellations on me in the last two weeks alone. My shower is supposed to take place in less than a month and I don't have invitations, or even details, to give people about it.
Am I just being over-sensitive or am I legitimately angry about this?

Hmm. I would personally still tip that much but I'm pretty generous. I look at it as "supporting local business" instead of a chain, so I feel better about giving them a greater % of my money. If that makes sense? That's just me, though!
@StephanieLBerg I think you have every right to be angry!!I had my fair share of baby shower drama but it finally got settled. Do you have a close family member or friend you can express your concerns too? maybe have them ask your mom about it? Maybe if ppl keep asking her she will realize it needs to be planned.
i am very used to braxton hicks (I have been getting them since about 17 weeks).
Ok what the hell. I called my ob asking about Braxton Hicks around 24 weeks and they said it wasn't those because it's too early. They thought it was just my uterus in an awkward position? But everything I read and stuff pointed to BH. I knew what I felt.
@ambz0606 - I was having BH starting around 19 weeks. There is contraction recording data to prove it because I also started having non-BH contractions. My doctors told me that BH can start early in 2nd tri, so I think it's totally possible that you were having them around 24 weeks.

I did $20 for my masseuse who owns the place I went to. It was closer to 10% but that is bc the initial visit for this type of massage is more expensive bc you talk about your health first. I asked my friend who had gone to her and this is what she gave her. And I was able to get more appointments with her so she must not hate me
I'm watching 16 and pregnant and one of the pregnant teens, claims she didn't know she was pregnant until she was 5 months along?!! WTF????? How could you not know?
@stephanielberg I am in the same boat! It is so frustrating! It's been pushed to Feb 1 and I'm freaking. Other than super cute pins they are posting, I have seen or heard nothing about it. I didn't expect a shower at all but everyone keeps asking me when and what I need and I have no answers.
I agree with a pp that maybe you could talk to another family member who may be able to ask her for details or maybe even if she needs help. That's advice I should take too. Hope you get it resolved soon!
I am exhausted and my stomach is sore and my lower back burns. I feel like I have no right to complain since I'm just hitting the third trimester. So I am going to sit here and pout... And maybe eat a cookie...
@psychobutthead, I would get her a bru gift card because there is not that much she can get herself or call in sick that day if at all possible.
@MapleMomma, thinking about you and YH!
she wants walmart ones but with the way she is I feel like it would be spent on her not baby stuff.
I went and bought her a small pack of size 2 pampers, a johnsons soap bathset with desitin, a 3 pack of the tommee tipee bottles she wants, a two pack of pacifies, a pacifier clip, and a bottle brush.

I tip for any kind of service I recieve if I feel it was good. What I mean by that is even if I only have a few bucks I will tip it, usually I try to tip 20%, if the person really went above and beyond which does happen I always tell my husband tip more because I really liked the person.
For me to not tip you have to seriously piss me off. That only happens if someone is extremely rude or just not there at any point of the service. If I have to ask other servers or whatever for service then thats a major issue. I also tip when I get my nails done, unless they cut me. If you cut me I don't tip. I usually tip big when I get my nails done because my daughter goes with me and never stops talking during the whole thing so I'll tip her person and mine.
I'm watching 16 and pregnant and one of the pregnant teens, claims she didn't know she was pregnant until she was 5 months along?!! WTF????? How could you not know?
Denial is a crazy thing. She probably suspected but was denying it to herself. With DD I knew the condom came off and everything but I kept telling my self I wasn't pregnant. Even after 3 missed periods and finally the positive test I was totally convinced that when that doctor said they were going to do an ultrasound that there wouldn't be a baby.
Then I saw a baby and almost fainted. I had my first ultrasound with DD when I was still 15 I was 3 1/2 months at that appointment. I'll never forget the nurse and my mom asking if I was ok because I suddenly turned pale.
Ok My random
Each year I try to do a tradition of us each picking out an ornament we like so we slowly build a collection. Well while at Target DD found an ornament she wanted so I decided to let her go ahead and get it before they sold out even though I didn't get my and DH was still at work.
Of course it was Elsa. I told DH I let her get hers an he asked what she got. I told him Elsa. Then I asked do you know who that is? I got the most annoyed look and the response "well yah,". good to know he knows his cartoons.

I almost had the same kind of thing happen to me. A friend wanted to fly in and throw me a shower but she couldn't settle on a date. Eventually she started suggesting dates in mid Jan. This being my first pregnancy I didn't want to have to host a houseguest at over 8 months pregnant. And I felt like it was risky to have the shower so close to the due date, so I politely told her "thanks but no thanks". I think she was disappointed (but also relieved, I'm sure). In my case 2 others had offered to throw me a shower, so I ended up having a shower after all. Is there anyone else who has offered?
TL. DR.: sorry about the flakiness of your showers. Is there anyone else who offered to throw you one? Next time someone asks about it, you can tell them the truth, they might have offered to throw you one if they knew there wasn't one planned.
No plans today. I'd love to get something out though. Every year right after thanksgiving I have friends that bring out the Elf on the shelf. The elf on the shelf creeps me out. You're kid is just trying to be a kid but you've brought a "living, breathing" Santa narc into the house to spy on them for a supposedly omnipotent, omnipresent being that watches them and has access to them even in their sleep.
TL :DR the elf on the shelf is weird to me and I don't like it.
We don't do elf on the shelf at my house. Mainly because when DD was younger I never had the money to buy one. Those damn elves are expensive! Through the years since shes gotten older I just never saw the point in buying it. Too much work. Its super cute and great if you want to take the time to have it do stuff but yeah I'm a lazy mom here.
I'm not even counting down the days till Christmas. I am however counting down the day until my Christmas vacation.
I also have a rant. None of my favorite flavors of mountain dew come in diet. Because of this I plan on packing a bottle of code red in my hospital bag for the delivery.
All this talk about packing your hospital bags and now 2 (!) birth announcements, i finally started putting together our bags. I even washed a couple sleepers, onesies, and some socks!
