April 2015 Moms

Celebrate everything!

Who couldn't use a little more 'happy' in their life? (squelch that snark you negative Nancy!)

What made your day today? Did you manage to drink your morning coffee without interruption? Did your boss call in sick? Did your SO unload the dishwasher?

Whatever the reason, no matter how random, share and celebrate all the pointless things that made you smile! (bonus points for pics/gifs)

  • @knitfastdiewarm‌ that's AWESOME!

My 5:00 therapy appointment canceled and then my MIL asked if I wanted to go and get Italian tonight on her! SO PUMPED!

  • My husband cleaned the toilet .... my most hated job ... I thought that was a nice surprise .. Either that or the chilli he ate really "hit home"
  • I got a lot of Christmas shopping done.
    Rudolph is on tonight.
Had a good check up today.
  • My in laws are getting us Chinese take out tonight AND I finally have some wrapped gifts under the tree!!
  • DH went into work an hour later than usual today so that I could get a little extra rest this morning. I can't remember the last time I was in bed after 7:00a.

  • I got dressed today, did my hair and makeup, looked in the mirror and thought I looked pretty dang cute.  Mega celebration.

  • I ate delicious teriyaki for lunch, all of it! I have enough leftovers from dinner last night that I don't have to cook tonight. I got one more person checked off my Christmas list today. And my new gliding rocking chair should be arriving on Thursday!
  • Found out my sis, BIL, and nephew will be in town the weekend of the 20th for an early xmas and am very excited about that!!  :-)

  • We are picking up DS's big boy bed from the mattress store tonight! And, since they couldn't get in the cheaper mattress that we originally bought we get a nicer mattress for 50 bucks off!
  • I was up late last night having worked a double and could not function properly this morning...I work at a pediatricians office in a city full of the rudest people in the world....my exciting thing that happened is the wintery mix that had every one staying home. We didn't have 1 patient till almost 11am! Sounds like nothing but I was SO relieved
  • Today is my Friday!!! No work for me until next Monday....now to mark things off my to do list before Christmas break! :)

My amazing 18 month old has been so good today!! Goodness I love this kid. Especially on days when he is being this good!

I've got similar warm and fuzzies going for my 2 year old right now! We took him to an indoor play area tonight and he was so great around the other kids, played well on all the equipment, and didn't throw a fit when it was time to leave. I love him to pieces all the time, but when he's being really good, I just glow with happiness!!
Exactly! It gives me happy chills and makes me want to squeeze him and kiss his little face!
  • @theinvadermothership‌ I love Lush products! My dream is to one day have a big tub so that I can use their various (and super cute) bath bombs without the water fizzing over the sides. Their regular sugar scrub is awesome.

I'm short, so i fit *kinda* in my tub but i love going on vacation and getting a big tub bc i totally bring lush with me. Haha. I love love love Lush. I spend waaaayyy too much money there. But the nice thing is i never hve to worry about weird chemicals in their lotions and such.
  • DH and I had our first date since July and ended the night with tiramisu.

Any night that ends with tiramisu is worth celebrating!

So glad you got to go out for your bday! That's so exciting!
  • 1) The baby clothes we ordered online from pumpkinpatchusa arrived today! 2) I sifted through resumes for my maternity leave .. which made it feel so real and soon! We are planning a 3-month overlap, which I am thankful my boss is allowing since I'll be training my replacement.
  • This is a happy post and so needed after the sadness over in D14. I'm celebrating finally feeling baby kicking and knowing that it's actually baby! I'm also celebrating our home warranty covering a huge chunk of money for us needing to get a new furnace.
  • Love this thread! We as humans really should practice appreciation more often and find more reasons to celebrate- big or small. BIG UPS to OP!
I am so thankful I was finally able to reinstate my license today after having it suspended last month for not being able to pay off a speeding ticket, and before I got pulled over and potentially arrested.
    Thank goodness!
  • I am simply thankful for my beautiful daughters! Despite having a really crappy day, our little Christmas photo shoot made me smile!
  • DH actually felt the baby move for the first time late last night and a few more times today. Super exciting!

My school had a 2hr delay and got to sleep in. It's supposed to snow tonight, and there's a chance we may have another delay or even a cancellation tomorrow. That would be divine!

I'm so torn with this one this year. Normally I LIVE for a good snow day but this year, with maternity leave, they become either unpaid days on the back end OR more I have to work at the end if I go back in June. But, I probably won't complain when they inevitably happen and I'm nice and cozy in my bed :-)
