Thanks for all the love and T&P ladies! We are home now and trying to find our rhythm and new routine.
Vigorous Baby's name is Nora and she is amazing. She was born at 8:28 pm on Saturday 12/6 at 39w1d. 7lb13oz and 21.4 inches of adorableness.
I went into labor on my own late Friday night and labored at home until Saturday morning. We called the ob at 6:45 am when ctxns were about 7 minutes apart. Got to the hospital and I was 3cm and 70%. They had me wait an hour - no change and then walk 2 hours. While I was waiting to be rechecked I had the most monster contraction and as I was trying to work through it by squatting my water broKe. They checked me again at noon and I was 4cm and 80%. I got admitted (yay!) and the rest is sort of a blur. Got an epi around 5 cm. I had planned to wait longer but I was having 100% back labor. Holy crap that hurts!! The epi worked pretty well until it was almost time to push and the pressure was just too much so they gave me a boost. Good thing they did because she was having some trouble with her hr when she got to 0 station and I was pushing so they ended up needing to use forceps to get her out faster. That ultimately resulted in a small episiotomy and 4 stitches which = owie and the ob said would have been redic without the epi boost.
I'm feeling good but am a little bit shocked at how swollen and owie my lady parts were and have been. But Advil and Tylenol seem to be doing the trick. I also passed out when I stood up the first time. Woah!
I keep looking at her thinking how wonderfully blessed my H and I are to have her here and in our arms. The AL journey is hard and at times seems endless and unbearable. I know we are so lucky to have her. Truly a rainbow.
Thank you to each and every one of you that reached out, shared your stories, love titted my successes and offered hugs when the news was sad, offered support to me and the other women on the al boards, and stood along beside me during this journey. Yu are all amazing women and I will be forever grateful to have known you. :x
