November 2013 Moms

Tuesday Tidings

Am I allowed to start one of these threads? I never started the daily before.

It's a soppy wet day here. Ugh. I am saturated.

Anyway, Most days I feel like I have my mommy-ness down pat (well, as much as you can with a toddler). Then, I have to change a diaper. B is always wiggly, but sometimes she freaks out as if I am trying to rip her heart out. Well, last night I yelled at her. B YOU HAVE TO STOP! I didn't feel better, in fact I felt worse. I don't want to be a mommy that yells.

Please tell me you gals can relate.

Today is better. Got some great snuggle time with B before work. That is always good for an attitude adjustment.

Have a great day everyone!
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.

  • All of you guys are awesome. I feel so much better knowing we've all been there. I knew that was the case writing the post, but it helps to get it out and hear other stories. Thank you!

@Kfran84‌ -- love love love the graham idea. I may steal it.

@MotherEFFingKatie‌ - hang in there mama.

  • So DH got me addicted to this triva app. I suck at it but it's so much fun!!!! So I'm doing that at work today I had the morning to myself so I finally got my car vacuumed out. It was so gross.

I made a stupid mistake at work today that I'll probably have to fix tomorrow. In reality the proofers could just push it through and all would be fine but they're bitches..

I use these ones by Earth's Best. They're the perfect size.

ETA Tag @vegasgal1978 Also, no credit to me! I stole the idea from someone here. I think it was goldi, but I could be mistaken

  • @Kfran84 @VegasGal1978‌ Yes, I confessed to plying my kid with graham crackers and touch and feel books during diaper changes. I use Honey-Maid or Target's generic. I also notice that if I put a little pillow or some padding under his head he's a little better about holding still. Are you still using a changing table? That's easiest for me. I put his knees at the edge and the lower half of his legs dangle off the end, he doesn't have as much leverage to push off and move around like that.

@cagoldi‌ -- Everything you say is awesome. Can't wait to get home and deploy these tactics. Graham crackers and dangley legs. I can handle that! Thanks!

  • @VegasGal1978‌ It's not perfect, but it's slightly more effective than pleading.
  • @wedding06 fevers are the worst. I'm so sorry c is still sick.
  • My kid cried all night last night. My stomach hurt all day. Thought I was settling down for the night then got a call my fire alarms were going off in my new house. Fire department came and it ended up just being dust in the alarm from sanding. Ready for this day to be over.
