Anyone up to every 3 hr BF?

Hi there-
I've been reading in the background since my first child (son, Davis) was born on Oct 21 and have found such comfort from you all on a variety of topics. Thank you!
Now for my own question -
My son is 7 weeks old tomorrow and still BFing every 2hr during the daytime with two 3-4hr stretches overnight.
I'm curious to know if/when your LOs started stretching to every 3 hours during the daylight hours. Every 3 sure would be helpful during the hectic holidays!

PS He weighs about 11lb (3lb up from birth weight) since I understand weight can play a part.

Honestly I'm happy when DD goes 2hrs between feelings. Some days she still only wants to snack and nap every hour.

M is 9 weeks tomorrow and sometimes goes 3+ hours during the day but then regresses to 2 or even less. I guess I'm not much help... but it could be a few more weeks before it stretches out.

My LO was 3 hours from the beginning and actually eats a bit more often as she gets older. I think it really just varies between kids.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm happy he's feeding 8-12x p day and still sleeping a little longer at night.
I go back to work Jan 8 and am trying to plan ahead if I should still expect him to be every 2 or maybe up to 3. Banking enough milk for either outcome.

This. Our average is a little under every 2 hours because she snacks so much and falls asleep still. As they grow, they will be able to eat more and more at a time and space the feedings out. I just make sure that I feed on demand and that her diaper output is good and then don't question her eating schedule (or lack there of).

She'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I'm guessing she's about 11lbs (we'll find out tomorrow)

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely pump every 3 at work (3x p work day) but I'll likely need to send 5 bottles to daycare in case I get stuck in traffic. So many factors to consider - and pumping to do- when all I want is to soak up this last month of baby snuggles!

My daughter is 6 weeks...feeds every 2-3 during the day. I cluster feed her at night....like at 6, then 8, then 9...she will sleep through the night or wake at 4

For those of you trying to stockpile like me, I nurse and then pump right after nursing. Sometimes I just get an ounce but it gives me at least 5 ounces per day to freeze.

@LisaHatfieldBaran‌ same here. Did you just start with the stockpiling or have you been at it a while? Trying to hit my 60 oz goal before the holiday rush sets in!

My babe nurses on demand. Sometimes every hour, sometimes every 2. Never 3 during the day, but he gives me long sleep stretches at night. He's 9wks.

My baby likes to nurse constantly when she is with me but when my husband watches her she will go 3-4 hours between bottles. I think it is a combination of her maybe drinking more in one go when it's in a bottle and knowing that my husband doesn't lactate! What another poster said was right too, she feeds for longer after her 6 hour night stretch than she does when she is snacking during the day so the quantity you need shouldn't change.

My 7.5 week old BF every 2-3 Hrs around the clock. Sometimes even every hr. In the beginning, he might have gone 4 hrs and taken long naps but those days are gone

DD might be a unicorn baby, but she's been eating every 3 hours pretty much since she was born. Her nursing sessions usually last between 20-30 minutes, then she's awake for 1-1.5 hours then takes a nap and usually wakes up right at the 3 hour mark, but if she doesn't then I wake her to eat. Last week she started sleeping an 8 hour stretch at night, but I think we've hit the 6 week growth spurt because she's waking up every hour or two to nurse the past 2 days.

Hmm. I feed every 2.5 hours or if she wants to eat any earlier. Which she usually doesn't. She doesn't cluster at all. She will go to 3 hours if I get busy or whatever. But I don't want her to go past that during the day. She's SGA (small for gestional age) so I want to make sure she's getting enough to eat.

Chloe eats ever 2 hours during the day and 3-4 at night. It's harder to gage how much they are eating--baby could be eating smaller amounts more frequently and that's why they nurse often.

At 11 weeks he goes 2-3 hours during the day and longer at night. (His first 2 months he ate every 1-2 hours and gained 6 lbs lol).

My LO started going about 2.5-3 hrs between feedings at around 8 weeks. She's almost 10 weeks now. I feed on demand, so sometimes it's less but that's usually what she does now. She sleeps 8-12 hours at night...I know, my little unicorn. She started sleeping 5-6 hrs at 3 weeks old.

She gets plenty to eat and my pedi (also an ibclc) said she had no concerns with her sleeping that long at night and that her weight gain is fantastic, so I'm not stressing. But it is certainly weird to go from every hour during the day and every three hours at night to her new patterns!
