Anyone else planning any fun ways to tell family, friends, the world about your great news??

We may announce to my dad and my MIL at Christmas with an ultrasound picture if I have one.

Everyone else will be told either in person or over the phone once we're out of the first trimester. No special announcement planned.

When I decide to announce on facebook, I might do one of the shoes pictures or maybe a belly pic if I'm showing at that point.

I already have a photo shoot scheduled in 2 weeks. That way we can just make them our Christmas cards. We don't really do facebook so this would be our announcement to friends and extended family

We are having the entire family for Christmas. I have had losses and don't want to announce at 7 weeks, but at the same time, I don't want to be outed, I do want to tell them. And not drinking at Christmas would most definitely out me. I make stockings, and over the past couple years I've sewed every person one, and we put them all out on Christmas eve, and everyone adds to them. I am going to make an extra one with a question mark on it (the rest have initials) and wait for them to notice!

I think we will announce to the families at Christmas. I was planning to give grandparents an ornament with the ultrasound picture.

For Facebook I want to do something when we go to Disneyland in January. I'm going on a girls trip so I thought it would be fun to get funny pictures and do a caption that says, girls trip didn't go quite as planned. For example all the girls drinking and me with water, all the girls on tower of terror and me on dumbo, all the girls eating Ice cream cones and me with a huge sundae, ect. Then I want a princess to hold a sign that says a prince or princess will be arriving August 2015.

@GR8TDANEMOM‌ that sounds like an awesome announcement pic! I saw one on Pinterest the other day with a dog with a sign around his neck and it says "they are getting me a human!" Or something like that for our two dogs. I think we will post a pic like that on Facebook around or after valentines day which is right around the end of the first trimester for me. I check Pinterest obsessively for pics tho

I found a poem on Pinterest to put in a frame for DHs mom and that is how we will announce to DHs family when we travel 8 hours to see them for Christmas :-). Can't wait!!

We are still coming up with a final plan but for my parents we are thinking of giving my dad a Patriots uniform but in a toddler size (or smaller if we can find it). For my DH's parents we are thinking of giving his mother the Berenstein Bears book "Weekend at Grandma's". This book series was a fav of my husband's as a kid, and my dad is a season ticket holder. We want to do something that is a bit personalized for them. Loving the other ideas as well! I don't think we will announce on fb until we know the gender of the baby, so I haven't started thinking of that yet.

Are you near Foxboro? You might be able to find infant stuff at the Pro Shop. I don't know about a uniform, but definitely a onesie, I'm sure.

I made a tee that reads "Big Sister August 2015" and plan to have her open it as a gift in front of family on Christmas.

I also thought of just having her wear the shirt under her jacket and just see how long it takes someone to notice.

With my previous pregnancy we announced it via fortune cookie over a Chinese dinner. It was a lot of fun. The lucky number were my estimated due date, and the Chinese word was infant. Though I loved planning it, when I had my loss I still had a video. It still it breaks my heart to watch it.

ETA: This time I think we will just be telling family over Christmas dinner, and Facebook around valentines day. If all goes well.

We are telling family on Christmas. I wanted to take a family pic and on 3 yell, We're pregnant!!!! I think it would be fun to see everyone's reaction.

We have told a couple of people (my mom, sisters, and two BFFs), but we won't be telling DH family until early January.

We have had a Disneyland tripped planned with them for awhile now and since I won't be able to enjoy my favorite rides or drinking beers at California Adventure with my DH, BIL and FIL they will know something is up.

I am planning on having DH bring a "First Visit" button home from work the night before and wearing it the day of our visit pinned to my belly. Most likely under a sweatshirt (and then I will take it off before they get in line for the first ride that I can't go on).

I really wanted to tell everyone at Christmas by giving them t-shirts that said worlds greatest grandpa/grandma/uncle/aunt/etc.however we had all of our family in from out of town for thanksgiving (which was only 5 days after we got the PPT) and so we felt like we needed to do it then in person. For the rest of the world were sending out a late christmas card (more like a New Years card) that will have the ultra sound picture and our top 10 things of 2014 - #1 being that we're expecting

We won't be able to do a Christmas because our U/S is the Monday after. We always have a big Superbowl party so we will probably go non family public then. I have 2 maternity football shirts from when I was pregnant with DD and hope to wear one of those to the party. I just need either the Broncos or Eagles to make it to the Superbowl. If we can get family together for new years we might tell them then.

We're telling MH's parents on Christmas Eve and my parents on Christmas morning. MH is a musician and I like to sing (but used to play drums). So he wants to take a picture of one of his guitars, a mic, and the mini drum kit my FIL gave me for Christmas a few years ago. He's planning on captioning it with something along the lines of "drummer coming August 2015". We'll put it in an envelope and give to our parents to open.

I can't keep a secret, so we went ahead and announced early- I shared this picture with the caption "we have an announcement, but we'll give just one tiny clue... To guess what it is, name that Christmas tune!"

This will be the first grandchild for my parents AND my husbands parents! We will be stopping at my In-laws before going down to my parents for Christmas. We got them each of set of "best grandma and grandpa ever!" mugs for them to open for Christmas to announce their first grandbaby. I can't wait to see their faces. This wasn't planed for at least another 6 months so they'll be so surprised!

I had special tshirts made for my grandparents that say "World's Greatest Great..." "Baby Jelli arriving Summer 2015" I am going to try and take their photos before Christmas of them wearing their shirts and hand out the photos on Christmas to everyone. If that doesn't happen (I'm a photographer, so its our busy season), then they will be getting their shirts, as well as my dad getting one, on Christmas!
I will probably also make copies of our ultrasound photo as well... But that will depend on if there is anything to see then lol

Announcing to family on Christmas. our family gets together every year at my MIL house. going to making her a card that says "las aventuras mas grande son las que no son planiadas" which means "the biggeat adventures are those that aren't planned" in spanish but as for a fb announcement were doing a disney themed one. (were big disney people)

I ordered yellow booties that will come in a box with a note, for my in laws saying you're going to be grandparents again (and a grandpa again for my dad.) We're also going to frame a picture of the ultrasound for them that will have August 2015 on it.

DH is a graphic designer. In 2010, we created a board game for DH's family that integrates family trivia. It's a fun little game where, to get to Grandma's House, you have to answer questions about each family along the way. The family has been asking for updates because the trivia is a bit outdated now. So, for Christmas we're doing all new trivia cards with one additional card for our family: When is the new baby due?

We are planning to wait until 12 weeks to tell anyone. At 13 weeks we are going to Disney, I love your idea to have a picture with a character holding a sign! Maybe we'll wait until we get back and slip it in with our vacation photos!

We are announcing at Christmas, as well, so long as our first prenatal appointment goes well next Friday! Since we live halfway across the country, and won't be able to get home for the holidays this year, we decided to send letters from Santa as announcements. I'm pretty excited about how these turned out - I've attached a photo below!

The letter reads:

"This letter is to inform you of a special present I am preparing for you. I have enclosed a photo of the gift, which will be delivered in care of Adrien and Casey mid-summer of this coming year. I apologize for the delay, but quite a bit of assembly is required.

Merry Christmas,

Santa"

Hoping to tuck our ultrasound photo into the brown envelope stamped "Confidential." Stamped the back of the big envelope with a "Don't Open Until December 25th" stamp.

We are giving a grandkids sign to my parents and my in-laws. I'm going to pin photos to the sign with a "coming August 2015" note. We are giving them at Christmas!

My husband and I want to do something a little silly, so we have decided to go with the picture below. I am graduation college next Sunday and we plan to tell our families then. As for our friends I think we are going to wait until Christmas or after the New Year. It's so difficult to keep this a secret. We are so excited!

You all are so clever!!! I already spilled the beans verbally to quite a few people. I even told myself before these conversations, "okay, you're NOT going to say ANYTHING." Then, whoops! It just slipped right out!

I think we'll do some sort of official announcement. We were thinking of incorporating our elf on the shelf somehow. I really like all of your guys' ideas!

Still deciding how I want to announce it, my parents will be out of town visiting my brother, my sil, and their kids for Christmas and I thought about sending a card/gift to my brother to give to them on Christmas morning but I'm not sure. This was a huge surprise and I'm not sure how thrilled they will be with the timing of this pregnancy and I don't want to ruin their Christmas. I'm at a loss for excitement right now, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why would this ruin their Christmas? ?
But I'd prefer to tell close family in person or if the live far over Skype or facetime

We already have our Christmas photo shoot booked for this coming weekend. I talked to my photographer and we are going to throw some cute annoucement things into it. This is my 5th so we are doing a oldest youngest sign kind of thing and something with Christmas balls.

A baby is a gift that is very hard to be upset about. Just find something really cute to do and just go for it. look on pintrest. I found a cute idea with a Paci and a note.

This will be our 3rd so I want to incorporate my two oldest. I was thinking of having them dip one hand each in paint (daughter in pink & son in blue) then placing them on my belly and taking a photo with the caption "August 2015". Im just debating on waiting the until the 12th week or on NYE. Im so excited.
