What Does Your DH/SO do for a Living?

I stole this topic from May 2015, but I'm curious to know: What does your DH/SO do for a living?
I was really excited and interested after reading the discussion on what roles you all play as SAHMs and working professionals, and I'd love to know what your other halves do for a living.

    My DH and I do the same thing, at least to the outside observer. We're in the same graduate program studying math. We study different kinds of math, though.

    DH has his PhD in civil/structural engineering and works for a company creating catastrophic risk modeling (fancy way of saying that he creates models that can predict how much money a country will need following a natural disaster based on historical and infrastructure data). He gets to travel a couple times a year all around the globe. (Sadly, I have never been able to go with him :( )

    DH works for the largest producer of electricity in Texas. There is a group of people that sit and watch screens all day to ensure that their power plants aren't minutes from blowing up....... And he works tech support for those people. It's riveting.

    Duuuuuude, that sounds pretty awesome... But I'm totally a sucker for stuff like that.

    DH works for one of the largest flight instruction companies teaching pilots how to fly jets in a simulator. Crappy hours, but he's home every night instead of when he flew for the airlines.  :)

    Dh does tech support for an in-home based facility that owns 200+ homes for special needs children and adults. He has his computer-science degree and loves what he does.

    Mine manages a high-end grocery store, local to our area. I get a discount, but it doesn't mean much when the prices are higher than at Whole Foods. I still do a lot of shopping there though, it's hard to resist :)

    @veggiemo I know you said you're from MI... are you possibly talking about Plum Market? If so, I would go broke shopping there too if my husband worked there lol

    Mine is a cytogenetic technologist. Basically he looks for abnormalities in chromosomes all day, and he sees some crazy stuff, including a lot of genetic defects in babies. I tell him not to tell me about work because I'll get paranoid.

    Lawyer. Boring corporate internal investigations. Long hours and we will never pay down all the student loan debt, but it suits his personality and he's pretty happy.

    He owns his own business - marketing and trade show products. Started from scratch a few years ago and is doing really well now - I help when needed but really I'm a SAHM - he works out of the house which will be amazing when this one comes! Being able to run to the store or pick up DS from school - making him listen for the baby instead of showering with the baby in the bathroom! It's hard at times because he works at night as well - but at least everything he makes is for us, so it's easier to share him. He came to this country with almost nothing so I'm even more proud of all he's done!

    @jbartsy Dang girl, you got me! I thought there was no way anyone could figure that out, but I guess there aren't many stores more expensive than Whole Foods! You are in this area too? Even though it's pricey, it is such a great store.

    @brennazesquire it is pretty interesting, but I don't know how he does it! When he was still in school, I tried to help him cut out and match up some paper chromosomes for a project... sounded easier than it was :P He has a good eye for detail.

    @veggiemo I live a little south of Detroit now, but I used to live in Ann Arbor when I was going to EMU. As a poor college kid, I only went to Plum Market on special occasions... but oh man was it tempting!

    My DH is an operations manager for a flat bed logistics company. He basically gets materials transported all over the country. There is a lot more to his job than that but there isn't enough hours in the day to tell it all :)

    My DH is a graphic designer. Some of their clients are Coke, Pepsi, Victoria Secret, Kroger, and Lays. It's pretty cool because he know what new things they're coming out with before most people.

    DH is the Advertising and Social Media Manager for a Casino. Long Hours but good pay and great benefits.

    My Husband works in pro sports- NHL, NBA and MLSE. I won't say exactly what he does bc some of you sports fans might know who he is. He loves it, but I hate it because it's a lot of traveling and a lot of long hours and schmoozing clients. I spend a lot of time by myself with my dog :(

    My husband is an electrician by trade. He works on the oil sands in Alberta doing maintenance work keeping people safe. He's working towards becoming an electrical inspector. He does 14 days there and 7 days home.

    My DH is a lineman. He works for the power company. Long hours and gone every storm. Its terrible sometimes but the pay and benefits are great so much that I am great full to be able to be a SAHM after this LO is born and I can't wait!

    My husband is a Blow Mold operator at the pepsi plant here in Wyoming. He makes plastic bottles. I think he legitimately enjoys it. He was working as a landscaper and he loved that so much more but pepsi pays more and offers insurance. They are relocating us to idaho at the beginning of the year and I'm honestly thrilled! :)

    Middle school band teacher and private saxophone teacher. He works his butt off and like the other teacher's SO's, I'm so grateful he'll be home in July and August so we can figure this craziness out together. June is his crazy month though, full of concerts, and baby is due right snack in the middle of them all. Yikes!

    I was thinking the same thing!

    DH and I work for the same specialty chemical company in the Plastic Additives business. He's a Macromolecular Material Scientist... @kristinabarcelon - we make additives that make your husband's job easier! :)

    DH is a Purchasing Agent for an electrical co-op.  He talks about power poles and electical line and lights A LOT.  I pretend to pass out whenever he starts in... zzzzzzz.
