Acid reflux & vomitting blood

hi there! i am 28 weeks pregnant and i have had a hard time dealing with acid reflux. i am allowed to take zantac. I was woken up to my chest burning and 20mins went by and became sick. I ran to the bathroom to vomit. I saw blood mixed in and could taste it in my mouth. It wasnt a lot but that has never happened to me. Should i be worried?

You're sure it was blood and not something red tinted you ate or drank? If it's blood go to emergency, don't fuck around with vomiting blood. At a minimum call the nurses hotline

I would go to the emergency room if you're vomiting blood. Totally worth the peace of mind, and check. Probably nothing, but if it is something, it's not worth waiting on. (Especially if you have insurance)

Def get a doctor's opinion! Are you sure it isn't your gums? I throw up a lot with this pregnancy, and there is almost always blood, but that is because my gums also bleed really easily...might be worth checking? Hope you feel better soon! Let us know!

Lurking from F15 in interested too to see what the OP says. I've had some serious digestive issues during my pregnancy. I'm interested to see what she means by "vomiting blood". This can actually mean a few different things. For me I've have constant reflux that doesn't necessarily mean heartburn but I am regurgitating in my sleep and waking up choking and coughing. may seem a bit TMI but when I vomit and sometimes violently I have irritated my throat and will have some blood mixed in with my vomit. Yes I can taste it and I have spoken with both my Gastro and OB about it. This is perfectly normal and unfortunately happens to alot of us. No what is not normal is when we actually are vomiting and it is straight blood all bright red nothing else mixed into it. This is why people need to be a bit more descriptive when you write "I'm vomiting blood". When I read this I think of some medical show where there is blood spewing from some guys mouth. For me I simply said to my docs "I'm vomiting and there's a little bit of blood mixed in with it." Sorry for the gross out hope this helps anyone...
