1st Trimester

prego and feeling normal

I recently (weekend before thanksgiving) found out i was pregnant with #2 and i took an est week test which showed 5 to 6 weeks which is what i was also thinking as well. When i was pregnant with my dd i had morning sickness from 6 weeks til 14 weeks and exhaustion was horrible. With this pregnancy i am not as nauseous and just slightly tired but i seem colder than usual. I dont get to see my dr til the 15 which by then ill be 8 weeks. I did go to a friends house this past week who has a fetal monitor and we found the heartbeat (125) so i know I'm pregnant but just dont feel it due to lack of symptoms. My breasts arent sore but my nipples are super sensitive. Has anyone else had a pregnancy completely different than their first or not have any symptoms at all?

  • It was the heartbeat we found. We searched around and heard nothing we kept going back to the same spot before we heard it again. At the time of this i was 6.5 weeks. The beats was 125. I did find that at 6 week gestation a heart rate is between 120 to 160. So it was def the heart beat we heard.
  • Umm lower right side above the pubic line just inside my hip bone. Ya know....
.where the uterus is. Im not stupid on where to find a heartbeat. This isn't my first pregnancy. It's sad you doubt what i heard. Everyone is different and i know what i heard. We tried the other side and middle and found nothing. This thread wasn't about questioning what i heard sad you have made it about that. I'm sorry if you doubt me bc you may have never had luck or bc your jealous i heard the heartbeat that early but thats not my fault and I'm not you. Please stick to the topic and questions that were asked.

    Thanks

  • At 6 weeks some internal ultrasound equipment can't even pick up a heart beat. Closer to 7 weeks it can. I feel like a doppler that early would be impossible...never mind that I asked to hear the heartbeat at my 8 week appointment and was told that they don't use doppler that early so as to not expose the baby to additional waves unnecessarily. I will get to hear it at my 12 week appointment.

How old are you? Why would anyone be jealous?
Very immature comment. Secondly you have the freedom of posting any topic, we have the freedom of responding how we wish.

Honey, you heart your own heart beat via your artery. At 6 weeks baby is way too small to hear via Doppler. I have had 4 pregnancies & I can tell you with utmost confidence that right now it's impossible for you to find the tiny heart beat through tissue, fluid & bone.

  • Also? It would be lovely to be pregnant right now, but I'm not. Why would I be jealous of your inability to operate & interpret a handheld Doppler?
