Can anyone explain this please. Im a new mom & I cant seem to calm my 3 week old like my mom& mother in law....is this natural or does it take time? Please please please help
I felt like my baby hated me. She cried when I held her at 3 weeks unless I was feeding her. Are you by chance breastfeeding? If so then it's probably because your LO associates you with food. It took a little patience and not long at all and now I am without a doubt her favorite person in the world. You're doing great, hang in there!
To this day both kids are more drama llama with me than anyone else. It's not a knock on you. They just know that cry = mommy will tend to me. They don't necessarily associate that with others at this stage.
So they are communicating with the person they feel will do what they need.
I agree with everyone else. When I first brought my LO home, I used to be able to have her sleep on my chest, but now, all she sees me is as a food source. I can't even hold her to my chest most times for rocking and babywearing without her trying to feed. Meanwhile, with my husband, she'll lay on him for hours and sometimes I get a little jealous. I wouldn't take it personally, even though I know it's difficult not to. It'll pass.
I find this sometimes is the case with DS and I can't help but get jealous sometimes, but as previous posts have said as their mothers they associate us differently to others as we provide them with what they need. Your LO is still very young and new to you so if course motherhood takes some getting used to, our mums and MILs have more experience than us.
