I don't have an outfit yet. I found one online, went to get it in store and they didn't have it. I don't want to order just 1 thing online either, so the hunt continues. I've got plenty of clothes for him, all of its used or was used by my other 3 boys, but it's important for me that they have their own coming home outfit, and their own blanket. It will be something I'll keep forever, and all the other clothes will be given away at some point.
I've gone to carters several times and only found 2 sleepers I like. Everything else is either too winterish, (polar bears, santa, snow flakes, penguins) or summerish with sail boats, or things with monsters on it. I feel like there isn't allot to choose from for 'regular' stuff.
It needs an "outfit"? I don't even have "outfits" for myself. I'll prob just shove a onesie and a hat in my bag and call it a day. No need to be high maintenance from day one
That's the nice thing about the one-piece sleeper thingies. Boom! Instant outfit! Now if only they were acceptable for adults...
They aren't? Says who???
Agreed
--------quite fail------- Add me to the footie/ onsie club.
After reading all this I'm worried that all the clothes we have are 0-3 months. No new borns...
NB size is 5-8 lbs. I would keep with your 0-3 mos. They will wear longer. I dont even know if NBs will fit babies, maybe since there are 2, but noone in my family was under 8lbs at birth.... so I may have wasted time/effort detagging and washing it all!
likely matching/ coordinated onesie/ fleece sleeper bag combos :-)
---quote fail--- My kid was in newborn clothes for at least 4 weeks.
Same here for about 4 or 5 weeks. We didn't have any newborn clothes(cuz you don't need em!) and ended up at Target 3 times to get NB clothes in the first week.

Yep, we had to go buy Preemie clothes for my 38 weeker. She was in them for about a month.
For this LO I bought some basic layette thingies in Preemie and NB for both a Boy and Girl since we're team green.

My oldest could have warn NB for a few weeks, but we didn't buy any. My middle child wore them for maybe 3-4 weeks, and my youngest was born at 7 lbs and wore them for 2 months at least but she was having trouble putting on weight too.
It just depends on the child and how fast they put weight back on. I bought 0-3 for the coming home outfit knowing it will likely be quite baggy but if we need NB once we're home I'll pick up a couple things. If baby's a girl, then I should still have some NB from dd2
No, ( except for a thin one) because she couldn't wear it in the car anyways. She will be dressed warm and then will have a blanket or a car seat cover over her.
Is anyone bringing a coat/snow outfit? I'm nervous about it being really cold.
blankets and a warm car are really all I am doing for the ride home. For out and about outings I have a fleece bunting (thin but warm) or I also have a blanket to just go over the the top. I am not really worried about it. I have been looking at the shower cap style things but they kind of look like a PITA.
LO is coming home in a vintage blue knit cardigan and bonnet my mother found in a box while cleaning out my grandparents house. She thinks it must have been her brother's (my uncle). We'll put a white sleeper or onesie with pants under it. Not too worried about the cold. He'll have a blanket on top and will be outside for all of 20ft.
I plan on since it's probably going to be cold here in North Carolina to put him in a little carters bear suit to keep him warm. And probably a onesie under it with some little jeans.
I'm putting my little man in this outfit. Because I'm a sucker for anything with animal ears. The interior has a furry lining and the entire thing is just super soft and cuddly!
