What are you dressing you LO in to come home? Something simple? Fancy? I am a FTM, and want this to be something special but can't seem to find anything.

  • Yes, I'm doing something fancy.  I have a dress that was mine as a baby (it's white), along with a red sweater and mary jane tights.  It's adorable ;)

  • I've picked out a couple outfits but haven't narrowed it down to one yet. I want it to be cute and adorable, but not necessarily fancy,

  • Just a sleeper.

  • I haven't bought anything special, but I dressed DD in a footed sleeper that said "Daddy's Little Girl". I may do the same for LO, since this is DH's first child :)

  • I just bought a cute little fleece outfit, pants, onesie and vest. He will need a hat and socks and blanket too since it will be cold.
  • Same as what many have already said: long sleeve onesie with a fleece one piece and socks, hat... I did however buy a cute "new year's baby" onesie with a tutu today for her hospital pictures. :-)

  • A fleece sleeper from Target that says 'Little Sister', a onesie, socks, mittens, hat and blankie.  There is no need for anything fancy here!

Ditto the sleeper from Target that says little sister. I think it's silly that so much thought goes into this.

  • Hopefully the outfit that dd1 never wore and black fuzzy boots.

    Doxie 10/04/11-Dachsund
Tadley 11/12-Cat Ruler of the house.
  • I bought a soft, fleecy sleeper in both newborn and 0-3mo sizes to bring to the hospital. DS was too big for newborn sizes, so I want to be prepared.

  • Omg that is Adorable
  • Just a onesie, a sleeper (with the attached mittens), socks, beanie and a blankie.

Let PP it's just a car ride lol at the Sip & See I might dress her up a little bit fancier but we shall see.
  • Ours will depend on the size of the baby we have a newborn/3 month option (both are fuzzy sleepers)...also depends on how long we end up staying in the hospital. We were in less than 24hr with DS so he was just in a simple onesie until we had to go outside, the he was in a sleeper wih blankets so you really couldn't see what he was wearing anyway.
  • I have a newborn outfit: white long sleeve onesie, skinny jeans, cute little knit booties, and a teal puffy vest. Haven't figured out the 3 mo size option yet. She'll be headed straight for her light grey and white cheetah print bunting though either way, with a white super soft and fluffy hat from Old Navy to wear outside. I just can't wait. The excitement is just paramount.

  • A 3 piece carter's outfit w foxes on it. A backup sleeper in case he's a chunk:)
  • My plan is to have baby boy #2 wear the same fleece outfit & hat that DS wore, but I'll pack along something new in case I change my mind.

Pretty sure we have the same one picked out! :) good choice! Great minds think alike! Plus foxes are cool haha
  • A Target sweatsuit. Gray pants, long sleeved onesie with a doggie on it and a gray and white striped jacket that says "Daddy's Little Guy".

  • It needs an "outfit"? I don't even have "outfits" for myself. I'll prob just shove a onesie and a hat in my bag and call it a day. No need to be high maintenance from day one

How is having an outfit for a baby high maintenanced?
Planning an elaborate outfit for a car ride on an animal that's just gonna poop or puke or pee on it seems like a high maintenance task to me. I'm more worried about not leaving it behind or coming home with the wrong kid

  • A fire truck themed outfit (my DH trained as a firefighter). It's a onesie, matching pants, and a light sweater.
FTM baby boy born Jan 2015
  • I have a pretty white and grey sweater and pants set for baby to come home in. It'll be cold, so I just want him or her to be warm!

Yep, that's why I chose the crochet outfit. It's feels warm and snuggly!

  • The traditional coming home outfit for DH's family is way too thin for a winter baby (even though DS was born in December, it's waaaay different in Florida).

Little girl will most likely be in a cozy onesie with a super cute hat

I think I might have the same coming home outfit planned!

After reading all this I'm worried that all the clothes we have are 0-3 months. No new borns...

NB size is 5-8 lbs. I would keep with your 0-3 mos. They will wear longer. I dont even know if NBs will fit babies, maybe since there are 2, but noone in my family was under 8lbs at birth.... so I may have wasted time/effort detagging and washing it all!

likely matching/ coordinated onesie/ fleece sleeper bag combos :-)

I have a few cute onsie/sleeper type outfits I'll tuck in the bag and decide the day of.  By deciding, I mean I'll see which one I'll dig first out of the bag.  We are team green so I'll stick a few different hats in there that are more boy or girl.

I have an adorable little grey/white fleece snowsuit.  That is what I'm really considering the going home outfit.
After 8 yrs of ttc little one is due Jan. 28

Big brother is excited to meet this little one!

  • A red sleeper with hat and all. In case she'll be too big for that, we have a sleeper that DD never got to wear.pink and cute

---quote fail--- My kid was in newborn clothes for at least 4 weeks.
Same here for about 4 or 5 weeks. We didn't have any newborn clothes(cuz you don't need em!) and ended up at Target 3 times to get NB clothes in the first week.

  • Yeah, my 9 lb 2 oz baby wore newborn clothes for a few weeks, too. But if I had no nb, and she had to wear 0-3, it wouldn't have been a big deal. Shoot, they put a 6 month size kimono shirt on her in the hospital. It looked ridiculous, but baby definitely didn't care. ;)

  • Since these babies will be born in winter I'd prefer her clothes to fit closer to the skin to help keep her warmer and bundled.
