I'm meeting up with another mom today, someone I "met" on the Nashville Moms facebook group. I had posted something about finding good babysitters, she responded via PM, we've been chatting, and today we're going to meet. I'm nervous! T&P she's cool.
And even better -- tomorrow I have plans to get together with @CD7211!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're going to meet a ginormous mall and walk around with babies and possibly shop for Christmas stuff! I am so excited!
@carleys, no advice here, but that sounds really rough. Hope that today is a better day for you and that the drive goes well!
We have a big day planned for the kids today. Going to see Santa this morning, then nap time, then Zoo Lights tonight December gets so crazy busy, but it's such a good kind of busy. I love it all!
FFSC: Two of the animal crackers I just got out of the bag (to eat myself obvs) are "stuck together" and it's making me giggle. And I don't know that I can bring myself to eat two cows who are DTD
I want a $5 manicure!! But one of my nails broke yesterday, so in a way a manicure seems pointless. I may as well cut all my nails and start all over.
Great, now I'm sounding like my mother. We bought a gc for her once, and she wouldn't use it because her nails weren't nice enough. Never mind explaining to her that you get a mani so your nails are nice.
I placed my scholastic book order for my students yesterday. I have a ton of bonus points and my classroom library is ginormous so I use many of my points for books for DS and DD now. I got DS two potty books for his stocking. Maybe if he thinks Santa wants him to use the potty then he will. Fingers crossed that works out. Then I had a brilliant idea, I looked to see what age range book orders go up to. The answer is teen, while I have no idea what high schools are actually handing them out, it's awesome for me. I got Wuthering Heights and Nicholas Sparks's latest book for free. :-bd Now if only teens read Emily Giffin and Jennifer Weiner...
As soon as she wakes up we are heading out to meet this new mom. She has a 2 year old and is 12 weeks pregnant with her second, and she lives less than 2 miles from our house! How cool would it be if we ended up really becoming friends?
I'm kind of proud of myself for doing this, despite the weird stranger-danger thing. It is so hard to make mom friends from scratch.
We have had a couple bad nights of sleep. It's amazing how quickly it makes you crazy. Dh and I are getting really snippy with each other.
A friend with twins who are the same age is coming over to play.
@rgoblue@shellbell3845 y'all are both awesome because I didn't even think of getting a special outfit to meet Santa. But I have a boy so it's different (I hope).
Haha, Baby $hell is a boy. Don't worry though, special outfits aren't required.
@carleys, glad you figured out what's been bothering LO. I hope he feels better soon!
DD has a cute Christmas outfit to wear to see Santa today Like @shellbell3845, we have quite a few. She'll be wearing festive Christmas gear for many different occasions (i.e. grocery shopping, going for walks, running random errands) you know, the really important ones
@carissalynp Lansinoh bags all the way. The only time mine have leaked is if they were dropped or I banged them into something while frozen. I make note of those so DH or MIL just thaws/warms those in a ziploc bag. I think any bag will be compromised if it's knocked into while frozen so be mindful of that (you probably already know).
Eta- the leaking is super rare. One in the last 5 months or more.
@mummypig - Good to know! We're going to Cabo in a week.
@cara5565 You are???? If you get tired of your SO pm me Or if you need any tips, etc same deal. We've picked up some great tips on some cool locations that aren't as touristy.
@carleys I hope your LO feels better soon. I know you said there's not symptoms but maybe it's worth a call/email to the pedi ? Have fun at the party.
@MissDemeanor when I visited Cabos San Lucas I left the beach covered in bug bites....apparently some beaches have fleas! (Something you'd think the 5 star hotel would tell you)
@paulheath2012 have fun shopping!!
@BlueDot818 I hope the shower goes well! Have fun
unfortunately my bites are all mosquitos I think. They're swollen and ugly. I actually took an allergy pill to try and reduce the swelling, which seemed to work.
That also reminds me @cara5565 Bring a LOT of really good mosquito repellent when you come to Cabo. We are having issues with them and Dengue Fever, which isn't something to mess with.
Lol TLex I'm sure you could still be friends!! That's hilarious. Keep us posted if the ticket is a winner.
My mom date was incredibly successful! She was SO nice and normal and our families are eerily similar - she works part time in a social work field, and her husband is in the food industry like mine is. I felt like I would absolutely trust her to watch W. We also talked about trading babysitting and such, or even just getting together randomly for coffee/Target dates/whatever. I'm so glad I followed through with meeting her!
Logan keeps standing up in the middle of the room (his new skill...standing without pulling up) and then clapping. It's like he's applauding himself, and it's freaking adorable.

That's so cute! Adam is trying to do that, but he keep getting stuck in an awkward squat. ). )
...how come the laughing smilie doesnt work??
Logan still gets stuck in the squat sometimes. He looks like he's about to tackle something.
My H is texting me about dinner tonight. He wants Pho. I ate Pho literally 3-4 times per week in my third trimester and so now I associate it with being ginormous and in pain and ready to murder everyone around me.
Have I ever mentioned that more often than not DS has horrible wake ups from his naps? He's currently standing in front of me, screaming right in my face. This has been a thing for like two years. The longer the nap, the less upset he is. So frustrating/annoying. He's totally fine in the mornings. Both kids only napped for 40 mins. Sigh.

J is still doing the squat... how long did it take Logan to figure out how to actually get up? I feel like we've been in squat mode for a while now.... She did take like two steps... I jokingly keep telling my H i'm not ready for her to walk so I'm just going to push her down if she gets any closer to figuring it out! SO not ready for it to happen!
Sorry, had to put the Bump down for a bit. Logan went from squat to stand in maybe a week and a half, two weeks?

1. I'm pretty chill
2. I don't actually care if you guys remember that LO is a boy.
I got all the Christmas outfits because it doesn't seem like toddler boys have many Christmas options, unlike girls. I figure this is my year.
And super mom, @rgoblue?? Ha! More like out of control mom.
Guys...apparently Santa has a new ride...

@carleys I hope LO feels better asap!
We are having fajitas for dinner. I am so excited! DH is ripping our powder room apart. Ugh. Someone hold me.
Because I'm 12.
I need a nap!

My sister had a see through phone and it was the bomb.com but by the time I was old enough for one I'd moved onto cordless B-)
I'd love to see a 90's version of this link!
