Breastfeeding

Reality of increasing from 1teaspoon?

I am supplementing pumping with formula but I am only producing 1 teaspoon on my right breast and nothing ever from my left. I am taking 2caps of fenugreek at every pump time which is every 3 hours. I drink a ton of water and eat healthy. I have never increased in production and my baby is now 2 weeks old. She is drinking 3oz at each feeding and I feel like I will never produce that. What are my chances that my body can increase from only 1 teaspoon???? This is exhausting and I'm wondering whether it's worth it for such a small amount of milk each time for all the stress and exhaustion I'm going through.

  • Will baby not nurse at all? I EP, but my supply increased tremendously when she would nurse.

Other than that, I take 3 fenugreek 3 times a day with meals. I saw a lot of improvement with Brewer's yeast (I took the capsules) and alfalfa. Also, steel cut oats increase my supply daily. You can drink mother's milk tea.

I've also heard that Fenugreek works best with blessed thistle.

    Good luck!
