**delta21** re: spitting up

Hey...Thanks for your reply to my post.

I am pretty sure Jax doesn't have reflux.  He isn't that fussy.  I mean,  he fusses, but he always stops when we pick him  up.  So I don't think he's in pain or anything like that.

So - I was wondering.  Are your boys super active?  Jax moves constantly.  As soon as he's done with his bottle he is kicking and rolling and moving and wanting to get up.  so we have no time for anything to "settle" or whatever.  I wonder if that has anythign to do with it.

Re: **delta21** re: spitting up

  • One thing I will mention is that when Connor has a bad cough, broncholatis, etc. and has a lot of mucus he will have projectile vomiting (spit up) of his bottle.  Unfortunately this is the only way his body can get the mucus out since he can't cough it out like us so.  In fact, you can see the mucus when it comes up.  The pedi say he will either vomit it or it will come out in his stool.  Therefore if he has lots of mucus built up we know projectile vomiting is on the way.

  • thankfully, knock on wood, jax is not sick at all right now.  :)
  • No problem!!  And to answer your question...YES!!!  They are incredibly active!  They finally hold thier own bottle so it makes feeding much easier...I can just sit them on the floor in thier boppy pillows and let them have at it.  But as soon as they are done it's on the move time!

So you might be onto something there because at night we have a bottle and they go down with little or no spitting up.  And I am fairly certain they aren't doing it in thier sleep because I am not finding any crusty leftovers in the morning!

We are also doing solids 3 times a day now so that makes the spit up nice and colorful!  Lot's of fun for me, my clothes and my carpet!!!

I am just really looking forward to them growing out of it as my pedi seems to think they will.....sooner rather than later I hope!

  • ugh!

jax usually doesn't spit up after oatmeal or anything...but has a little a couple times.  and same as you...he doesn't do it at night or in his bed.  thank goodness!!

i'll ask tomorrow when i go to dr and let you know what she says :)

  • Sounds good!  Let me know what she says:)
