Just sitting at Quest waiting for blood work after the yummy orange drink.

My mom just called and said my cousins from Erie want to stay at my house this weekend. My shower is Sunday. Ugh. My house is a mess and with everything going on with my marriage I really don't want to play hostess. Boo but I guess I need to suck it up!!

Oh and my phone died on me early yesterday morning. How did we live w/o phones before! 7 hrs without..you would of thought I lost a leg.

@BeckyP005‌ Umm.. I used to lived in erie ( I went to psu behrend for 2 semesters) and having loads of fam in the pittsburgh area- it isn't that far to drive down 79?? That sucks she's invited herself pretty much to stay at your house. I'm sorry to hear that. I wouldnt want to play hostest to ANYONE right now. Lol is there anyway to tell your mom how much that isn't what you want right now?

Eta- my gauge of what is a lot of driving might be a bit skewed. Lol I hated Erie so much I went SOMEWHERE every weekend (usually the 4 hr drive home) so pittsburgh did seem close lol

  • Home sick for the day again. I think I'll keep my face over a pot of hot water and hope for the best.

I had my midwife apt yesterday, she felt around and says baby is head down. Obviously, not a science but I'll take it since it means less worrying about that for no good reason.

  • Good morning!  I'm hosting a play date this afternoon and have chocolate chip cookies in the oven...this could be dangerous.  One of the moms is also bringing sangria because SHE'S AWESOME but it's making me sad already to think that I can't drink any.

We're also going to meet with a new pediatrician tonight to see about switching Adeline and the new baby there.  I JUST found out that our doctor doesn't take the new insurance that we switched to in October by getting a $500 bill for Adeline's last check-up.  I need to call the birth center to find out if they're covering my maternity costs but I'm kind of terrified that they aren't going to.

  • I find out next week if we will be switching insurance providers at the New Year.

If we do, my MW team and the hospital I plan to deliver at will NOT be covered.

I would be forced to find a new doctor with only 6 weeks until my EDD.

That thought makes me want to hyperventilate.

FX that the change doesn't happen.

  • I've just been crying. :(

I'm back at work and I feel terrible. Since I've gotten here this morning at 6 I have been on my feeting and going and going. Out of nowhere my very first mirgaine hit me while I was cleaning offices. I almost fell on my ass because it just came out of nowhere.
I've also been having contractions. They aren't regular but I've had them and some of them have hurt while others have just been tightening.

I can't do this job anymore. Its too much physically. I called my OB's office asking if I dropped the papers off today if they'd put me on leave. the nurse said she didn't know and that the OB was waiting for me to call with the results from the neurologist.

WTF? They work at the same clinic why would my Ob wait for me to call her with results? Why wouldn't she just get on the computer and check my file?

If she won't sign the papers then I'm resigning today. I just am beyond caring. No one here gives a shit how bad I feel or whats wrong with me all they care about is me doing every single thing they ask even when it goes against my restrictions.

  • Add me to the exhausted club. I keep my phone on at night cos my friend who lives like 10 mins away is due middle of this month and her hubby is away on business alllllll the time. I'm her back up in case she goes into labor. Well, my dad from London decided to play with a new messenging service yesterday and was sending some text messages thru at bloody 3and 5am in the morning my time. I almost jumped out of bed each time thinking it was time to get into the car to get my friend! Now I'm tired and not liking that it's not Friday yet.

  • can I just say that we are all getting so close to our due dates. it's really starting to get more and more real as we get closer and the suspense is killing me. :-SS
  • @Alygohome, my ILs are on FB (direct quote from FIL when he joined, jabbing a finger in my husband's face: "Now we'll finally know what you're up to!"). Too bad the husband deleted his account and I hide most things from them. Mwahaha.

So I say add because she'll be suspicious that she can't find you if you block, but claim to not spend much time on there at all. Put her in her own category, do the custom "Friends, Except X" setting, and keep on keeping on.

  • @willvilljill I have totally used diaper cream for myself and it really does help. Usually just one night and it's better.

    @missystephens Happy Birthday!

Work is pretty slow today so that's good. I know my bump time has decreased. Boo!

I slept much better last night and feel better today.

There is an odd feeling in the office today. About 50+ people were given thier notice 60 days ago and tomorrow is their last day. Odd to think Monday the office will be so quiet. :(

@BeckyP005 I feel your pain. My extended family is coming to my shower on Saturday and has apparently assumed they're crashing my house afterwards. My mom texted DH this yesterday...can't say I'm not surprised. Just for frame of reference, these same women (my mom and her older sisters) thought it'd be appropriate to crash my bachelorette party with super-awkward lingerie gifts... X_X

Good luck! DH and I switched on purpose because the care for families was so much better under his plan than mine, and it was really only a net cost of ten more dollars per month!

    Holiday Decorations Fail
  • Posting now, reading later as I need to get some stuff done at the lab now that I've eaten lunch and had my appointment.

My team is playing Mexico in the semi-finals of the NACRA 7s championship!  I mean, we'll probably end up play either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago for 3rd instead of going for the cup (which will likely be Mexico's), but this is awesome!  And I'm totally jealous that I'm not there to be a part of it.  Oh well, I'll be back next year.  I have admittedly not checked on the men's results.

  • Just got to work late because of a last minute doctors appointment. Glad I called them, they had me come in to do a quick pelvic exam and found I have BV. Starting antibiotics in the morning. At least I got to meet another new doctor at the practice, I've never had a male doctor do a pelvic exam before. Not as awkward as I thought it would be.

Interesting...the regular price is $0.25/diaper for size 3's, and with the Amazon Mom discount it's still $0.19/diaper. That seems kinda high for a "generic" diaper. Huggies at Sams's Club are only $0.20/diaper. We usually use Luvs, but I do prefer Huggies. I don't know, I guess unless they offer a better deal I'm not really interested in trying it at that price rate.

^^^wss. Unless it's drastically different than what I am paying now (which is $.18/ diaper for luvs with prime mom) I'm sticking with what I know. We really only use the disposables when he has a bad diaper rash or we are going out for an undetermined amount of time, anyways. Everyday use around the house we use cloth.

  • mels823 what!?  where were her parents - unreal!!

I went to my 31 week appt yesterday (Im a week behind) and seh did a quick u/s bc I realy want a vbac and I asked for confirmation of position even tho its still early and YAY, his head is DOWN!!  Im so excited!  yes, I know he can still flip but Im just going to enjoy this for a little, they'll check again at 36 weeks

Also, DD was with me at the appt and she came to the bathroom with me and she opened the little pee cup cubbie door and proceeded to take someone elses urine cup and spill it all over herself and the floor, so DH took her home right away and I had to tell the front desk. 2 yr olds are crazy!

  • @babycfeb2015‌ I have been drinking the red raspberry leaf tea for awhile and made my own mix:

I had Baby Mama tea before I mixed my own and it had a lot of the same ingredients as the pregnancy tea above.

  • @ChickenonSunday Have I ever mentioned that my (male) best friend's boyfriend is the creator/exec producer of HTGAWM? There is a LOT of explicit (mostly gay) sex. I think the huge amount of sex in general is kinda par for the course with those sorts of evening dramas nowadays (but I don't watch other ones, so that's just my assumption?), but he's very cognizant of the newness of having a lot of it be gay sex. And obviously very pro it. ;) It's funny, b/c he's definitely not a sex-crazed guy at ALL in person -- he's like the nicest, most decent young man you'd want to bring home to meet your grandma!

Are you all caught up on the show? I just caught up last night and plan on grilling him on a few things this weekend!
I caught up this morning. I'm sure the general public has issue with the gay sex. People are gonna complain. I'm sure the biracial couple is also an issue. It is 2014 folks...get with it.

I seems like there is around an average of three sex scenes per episode. Each scene involves different people. For some shows,  sex scenes make up for a weak script or poor acting (neither is happening on this show) and that is why I feel the high amount of sex is unnecessary on HTGAWM.
There were some complaints about the gay sex.  I remember a post on Shonda Rhimes twitter where she essentially told people get over it..

The sex doesn't phase me on there. I guess i am used to HBO, and showtime stuff like Game of Thrones where it happens all the time.  I am just digging the show.

@crabigator -- that's awesome that you know him.  I would TOTALLY be asking tons of questions too!  (I saw Marcia Gay Harden is coming to the show -- Sam's ex-wife?  or another attorney for the person --being vague in case not caught up -- who killed Sam. ) I'm sure i could think of many more if given the time.

  • Hmm...  I had my 28 appt and I won't see my OB til Christmas Eve for the 32 weeks appt. I guess I haven't moved to bi-weekly yet.

The office is eerily quiet today with a big all day meeting going on that I don't care to walk over to. Calling into the conference instead. I guess everyone else hauled their ass over due to the promise of free breakfast and lunch. Having GD has reduced me to a hermit. Any free food event is always diabetes unfriendly. Yesterday there was free pizza for lunch and I had to keep walking. Normally I'd be all over that stuff!

Tomorrow night is the company holiday party and sat night is DH's company party. I can't wait!  DH's coworkers are about to find out about Little Lucas. He hasn't officially told anyone at work yet.

  • @ChickenOnSunday‌ Aww, that's sweet of you to say! I actually (don't tell my friend, ha) don't find the show to be SUPER well-written, but I do think that Viola is a freaking master class in acting, and I think that it's really addictive and good at cliffhangers. I finished last night and definitely was said WTF out loud at the last scene. My main question for Pete though is going to be: how could anyone (even a fictional character!) say such ugly things to Viola's face!?!? She is a goddess!!! ;)

@cloe111479 You know, I didn't think about it, but maybe that's why I'm slightly desensitized too -- I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan! ;)

Ooh, I didn't see about Marcia Gay Harden. She's terrific -- TV is really getting such great actors these days! I'll be sure to ask! Having her as Sam's ex-wife would be incredible, lots of going head-to-head with Annelise...

Guyz I am having lots of trouble today with my PGAL brain. Its not that I am afraid something is wrong, but I am really sad since my due date was supposto be Christmas. I know I am lucky and got pregnant right after but I feel like I have been pregnant for 9 months and having trouble realizing that it is still a few months until I meet my princess. I don't really feel like celebrating Christmas this year, I feel like I should be so happy I get a feb baby but still a little down that its been like...37 weeks that I have been pregnant and I should be getting ready to meet baby around Christmas time ...sigh. I didn't think it would bother me getting closer to my loss babies due date so I am surprised at how I feel.

@alygohome - You have every right in feeling how you feel. I haven't experienced a loss so I cannot say, "I know how you feel." But I can appreciate it and feel that you are very valid in how you feel. There is nothing wrong with grieving a loss, especially so close to your previous due date. Try and keep your head up. <3

I understand how you're feeling, a friend of mine just had her baby 3 days after my original due date with my lost one. It was bittersweet, I was happy for her but sad for the loss of my own. As thrilled as I am that this pregnancy has gone mostly smooth, it still makes me wonder what could have been. Hugs to you
