Thursday Randoms

I can't sleep again. Gave up on my no electronics policy - just need something to distract me from how uncomfortable I feel!

Please tell me I'm not alone! :-<

Re: Thursday Randoms

  • I'm up. Dd slept all night last night but tonight has been up a few times and since I am not working at the moment, I'll take most of the nighttime wake ups.

  • I'm up... Insomnia and anxiety. I took a Tylenol PM an hour or so ago, but I don't think I'm letting it do its job. DH's snoring and the fact that I'm huge/less than 4 weeks from delivery don't help either. Hope you all get some rest!
  • Worse night in a while for me. Really bad head cold paired with pulled back muscle or something going on in my back. S ooooo much pain
  • Good luck @msheperd20!

I switched my shift on Sunday to work tonight.  Why must I be such a fool?  I'm so tired after 8…

  • I'm up. It's nearly 4 am here. I'm exhausted, but can't sleep.

I've got an early NST appt this morning, 845 am.

I'm gonna try and go back to sleep.

  • I'm going to be late for work. Hopefully the construction has my intersection closed off so nobody will notice that I'm not there. But a huge part of me gives no fucks today.

  • My sleep is ridiculously nonexistent too. Between getting up to pee so often, my achy hips/groin/entire lower half, and a baby who thinks night is the only appropriate time to practice her prenatal tap dancing skills........I'm sleepy!

I finally got out a bunch of random things that we'll need when LO arrives last night, so I need to get them washed up and ready to go! Moby wrap, car seat cover, etc. I still can't quite fathom that we're going to be a family of FIVE soon!!

While getting out said baby gear, I thought it would be a good idea to sort through the boys' infant clothes and see what would work for Baby Girl. All that resulted in was me sitting on the nursery floor bawling for half an hour because my baby boys are so big now! Pregnancy hormones + the fact that I'm always sad to switch out their outgrown clothing anyway = not a good combination.

My Dr informed me yesterday that he'll be out of town during the week of Christmas (my 39th week). Now I'm crossing my fingers that she'll decide she's ready before that! Or after. But, I'm hoping for before! :)
  • I slept pretty well last night. I didn't fall asleep until closer to 1 but I didn't wake up until my alarm went off.

I'm not too excited about it, because I'm sure the good times won't last...

  • I actually slept well last night.  I stayed up later normal last night watching Safe Haven and only woke up once or twice.  I feel like a new person.

Yesterday was so unproductive - today I'm determined to get things done around here and head out for a walk and pick up a few of those baby sleep sacks that are more like a nightie with elastic around the bottom.  I've heard from a few different people in the past few days that they are great for middle of the night diaper changes because you don't have to worry about snaps.

Sorry to hear most are still not sleeping well - maybe tonight will be your night!
After 8 yrs of ttc little one is due Jan. 28

Big brother is excited to meet this little one!

  • I slept like a log; that doesn't really make sense since logs aren't animals, but still. I still don't see my ankles but at least I kicked some of what's been making me sick? I hope...

I'm really sick of my commute already. There was almost a 5+ car pileup on the highway this morning because an idiot a few cars in front of me decided that slamming on his brakes at the very last second in heavy traffic was a GREAT idea. Car behind me ended up right beside me in the median to avoid taking me out, I stopped 2-3 inches from the car in front of me by the time I finally came to a complete stop, and the second car behind me was about 5 inches from my rear end. Fun times.
That sounds awful!  I'm glad that you managed to stop but still that sounds just downright awful.

  • I slept somewhere between good and awful last night - I was up a lot to pee and for some reason I was drooling constantly - it was pretty nasty.  I feel a bit of a cold coming back now so I assume it was because I wasn't breathing through my nose properly so I was opening my mouth while sleeping on my side - BAD COMBO!

I also have this incredible thirst and I want something with flavor - I do not think water is going to cut it.

I know we just had Thanksgiving and that I've been Christmas shopping but I still am not really in the holiday spirit - need to rectify that.

I read this three times as "My DH informed me" and I was wondering why the heck you were so understanding and where he was going for Christmas.  Need....more....coffee

    --------------------

Bahaha, that would not be going over well!
  • I know how you feel! My husband just got offered a chance to work 7-12's to Christmas which is great cause it makes up for my lost hours. However we have so much here at our house to do it sucks. When money is tight I know you have to do wat you can but its hard!
  • I am so bored at work, I have everything done that is happening in December and though I would love to get more done on the events that I have during my leave, my clients will not let that happen.  I am SO over working right now so this doesn't make it any easier.

I am really worried about how I am going to get all of my Xmas gifts wrapped this year.  My back and pelvis hurt so bad that it seems like a very painful task to me.  I usually have to do everything in one night because I have my H take my daughter out  for a "daddy date" so I am free to work, I just don't see that happening.

I got some brief, throbbing back pains this morning sitting in the Starbucks line.  I have no idea what those were but I am really hoping that they don't come back.
  • I had a dream last night that I had to make hamburgers for a whole bunch of people (hosting a party or something), and we could only use the stovetop and toaster oven. My friend made the "buns" like pancakes, and I cooked the meat in the toaster oven, and they turned out horrible. Then someone who was assembling them accidentally put a piece of Brillo pad in there. Grossest hamburgers ever.

Pregnancy dreams are so weird. But hey, who wouldn't want a Brillo pad burger?
  • I have a lot to do today and absolutely no motivation to move my ass off the couch. Maybe just half a cup of coffee more will do the trick.
    @luckylady18 congrats on your anniversary!
@CrazyMonkeyBear thank goodness you survived such an ordeal! I think I would have peed myself right there in the car.
@funinthenorth I heard the same thing from a dear friend that those elastic bottom sleep sacks are life savers when you are just too tired to give a shit about snaps. :)
@grumpycat88 I'm so happy your house didn't burn down! I used to read by candlelight, at night, until I woke up the next morning to a lit candle inches from the top of my head. I promptly went out and got a nightstand lamp.
To everyone who is sick or not sleeping well, I'm sorry. :( I was passed out all night last night and didn't wake up until the cat stood on my belly, purring up a storm, about 5 minutes before DH's alarm went off.
All right, time to get a little more coffee and hopefully get motivated.

  • Add me to team not sleeping well because of lower body pain. I got up a slept a couple hour stretch in the la-Z-boy last night but my neck was killing me when I woke up so I just went back to my bed. Also my calves feel so tight like if I straighten them all the way I will get a Charlie horse. I hope we can all catch some relief soon and get at least one good nights sleep before the littles come!

  • I've been using a foam roller on my back and it has been helping a ton. Thank goodness I found something that helps. Carrying my son really messes it up, but he is two so what can I do?

My mom cannot manage time and it means she constantly has to cancel because she has over scheduled things. It drives me crazy even though I expect it. She wanted to get together today but when I called this morning she had a full day of meetings and appointments. They were a bit spaced out, but not nearly enough time between for us to meet up. She couldn't put it together on her own that there was simply no time.

There are some good deals on Melissa and Doug toys on amazon today and it is taking all my willpower not to buy more toys.

I could hold you for a million years to make you feel my love.
  • I haven't been woken up in the middle of the night by anxiety in a long time. What a weird feeling.

Fun moment this morning: DH asked me if I "wanted" to take the dog on her morning walk. After I woke up and rolled over and nearly cried at how uncomfortable I was and the baby kicking me in the ribs to make me stretch out or get out of bed.

Time for coffee and first lunch!
  • @saiven, january snowflakes is the term used by TTCAL/PgAL-ers to describe angel babies that were due in January. I'm not sure if it means something else or the same thing to the 3T/PAIF-ers. Just wanted to throw that out there.

    Yep. This.
  • Add me to the no sleep and can't get off the couch club. I'm glad it's Thursday and I don't have anywhere to be, but I kinda want to get out. I could have taken dd2 to a playgroup thing, but she was throwing up the night before last and I just don't feel comfortable taking her anywhere. :(

Oh, and since we've moved about 4-5 nights out of the week, one or both of my girls will wake up in the middle of the night needing attention. Gah! This will not be acceptable when baby's here. Last night dd1 lied about falling out of bed again (she'd done it the night before, but she was actually hurt with a little bump), so she tried pulling the same excuse last night but I could tell in her voice she was lying so sent her right back to bed! I love having the helpers and older children, but not so much when they show regressive behavior.

On a more positive note, dd2 just helped herself to a snack so I didn't have to get up! Woo hoo!
  • I slept ok - lots of trips to the bathroom and according to my Fitbit even though I was in bed for abotu 7hrs I only had about 3 and half solid hours of sleep.

@CrazyMonkeyBear and @robsbabygirl08, yeah, I was afraid of that. Damn.

Snowbaby? (I'm pushing this snow thing on you all whether you like it or not)
Snow baby or anything suggesting a frozen baby is usually a term in the IF world for frozen embryos or children born from frozen embryos.

Sorry, it's not a sensitive term that I know of, but it's pretty common.
