We have a close group of 4 couples that get together on a semi-regular basis, but we're the only couple with a kid. As we start to plan NYE (which we always spend together), it's becoming more and more apparent how difficult/frustrating it can be to be the only ones in the group with a kid! We also had a birthday party a few weeks ago and I basically had to chase her around the entire time because their house wasn't childproof and she wanted ALL THE THINGS! So I had zero fun whilst everyone else was playing an insanely hilarious and inappropriate game of Cards Against Humanity.
I lerve my friends, but someone else needs to pop a baby out, STAT! :-)
Who else shares in my woes??
Baby #2 EDD: May 13th!

Re: Woes of being the only ones with kids...
After I politely decline I am continuously asked why. It is frustrating. Yes, I have a husband who is capable of watching the kid. No, he doesn't want to be left alone all the time for me to party with you.
The thing is, I don't even care to go anymore. I am realizing more and more that I don't have much in common with them anymore. It gets awkward when the only thing I have to contribute is about my child.
Luckily, we do have a couple of friends who have children, but, like us, they are busy a lot or just too damned tired!
