    I must declare that I did actually have friends.

    No, I don't know my IQ and I am not allowed to take tests because I've studied how to give them. Also, can't pass assessment tests such as those given to get hired at places like Walmart.

    This thread is such a head scratcher. Among other things, for the life of me I can't figure out how th OP found time to fail a college dance class while earning a degree in Chemistry and a post grad in Psychology.

    Even my undergrad in PoliSci&Philosophy left me no time for bizzarro electives.
    promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am

    Let's see because I have an idea of what the answers are. Those are standard tests. Same questions for every person each time. Many variations of tests.

    Not many choices of electives right after hurricane Katrina. Living and going to school in a hotel.

    Which is it? Many variations or same for every person each time?

    Oh goodness, there is more than one type of IQ test. I know how to give them all. The instrument (the test) is what's standard.

    I'm gonna be mad if NO ONE ELSE out there had to take a fucking PE class in college.  

    I'm pretty sure I gave my academic counselor the side-eye-chloe when he told me about it.

    It was a GenEd requirement when I was at the junior college too get my AA degree and certification to transfer

    Maybe it's because I went to a CC/Junior college first? Was it a punishment for not being required to take the SAT/ACT?

    My school didn't, but I know my sister's school required it. She took ballroom dancing and still found the time to get a BS and MS in PT. Imagine that.
    I never considered looking into the Faculty of Fine Arts for any electives. I guess I blew it.

    Also had no idea universities had PE requirements. Huh.

    We had to take chapel and freshman seminar first year. Chapel was basically seminar and presentations in the chapel.

    I had the best drivers ed teacher EVER.  He'd been doing it for like 40-something years, and was hilarious.  He called everyone "Suckas" and he had a bent "Alto" (spanish for Stop) sign that he threw really hard against the floor next to you if you fell asleep.  Sounded like an explosion.

    When he played that "Red Asphalt" or "Faces of Death" type movie, whatever it was, that had old 70s music playing in the background while it showed us horrific accident scenes, he'd just be at his desk dancing along to the music 

    Oh highschool.

    He made me cry when I took Behind-The-Wheel though because it took me 20 fucking tries to parallel park. :|

    Serves me right for going to university in the 80s when my options for electives seemed to be along the lines of Hellenic History and French Literature.

    I should have deferred enrolment. Surely by now they've got Gormet Poutine Theory or Comparative Analysis of Belushi and Farley (actually sounds pretty interesting).

    I took Balinese dance. And I was asked about it on my interview for my job in the financial sector. I bullshitted something about nonverbal communication being an asset, blah blah blah.

    I got a "W" withdraw grade in the first PE class I attempted.  It was yoga.

    I was a jerk 18 year and was just like "nope." after awhile.

    We had GLERs- general liberal education requirements where we had to take a certain number of classes from each faculty.
    Mine were awesome like Photography and Intro to art; Speech and Presentation.
    Plus I made it out with two degrees

    I took Human Sexuality as an elective. It incorporated psychology and sociology so it counted for a social science elective. In our discussion section we had different topics every week. One week we looked at and discussed porn (magazines only) and another week we got into small groups, we're handed sex toys/objects, and then did little group presentations on what you did with them. This was at.the University of Wisconsin.

    I took Human Sexuality here at UMaine. The professor started the semester by leaving a picture of a woman squirting on the 3 giant screens for the entire class. The next class we watched a "couples educational video" that taught couples how to masturbate. She was an awful bitch who was all about the shock factor, but that class was really enlightening. I was just starting to grow out of my super religious upbringing. I knew next to nothing about sexuality and had extremely conservative views about everything.

    I got a lot out of my class as well. It covered pretty much everything (STDs, anatomy, reproduction and childbirth, taboos, positions, gay and lesbian sex, sex vs gender). It covered a lot of things everyone should know but that doesn't get taught or talked about.

    One of my biggest takeaways from the class was how to talk about sex with children. My professor called sex "the big lie" because parents make up so much crap about it. He was a believer in telling kids the truth (while keeping things age appropriate and as minimal as possible) and calling things by proper names so that kids feel comfortable being open about things and aren't ashamed, misinformed and hiding things. DS (6) knows that his testicles make sperm and that females have eggs. He also knows that sperm and egg are each half of what makes a baby. I was very relieved when he stopped his questioning there because I'm not quite ready to explain the rest.
