LO is stirring and I'm mid-pump. I haven't mastered pumping and bottle feeding simultaneously so I'm just hoping he stays content for another 10-15 minutes! Eek!
Hi all. I am a lurker from D14, with a November baby.
Middle of the night feedings are doing bad things for my bank account. I just placed an order on Amazon and Target. Hopefully one of these three nursing bras will be better than the one I am wearing now.
Just had me some cereal....it's like I am pregnant again...haha! Damnit if baby can eat all night long, why can't I have some??
Little Gio is eating so much....he is eating 4 oz of formula at a feeding now, and sometimes one more ounce if he wants more. 5 oz at one feeding??!!?!! I think maybe he has worms.....lol. Yesterday he had 7 oz. in a 2.5 hour period. He was just NOT getting full. I don't know where he put it all.

Nothing's gives you a fully alert newborn at 5 am like putting them under the faucet of the tub. Oh why does she only have massive quantities of poop in the sleeping hours or when I dress her in cute outfits. On the upside the rank gas is finally gone and this method of tub cleaning saves wipes. So really I just lost some precious sleep time but saved money.
LO FINALLY fell asleep (3am here) after hours upon hours of being fussy. Unfortunately, he fell asleep on me and after the last several hours, there's no way in hell I'm risking waking him up. So here I am, watching Netflix and trying to ration the water I have until H gets up for work and can refill my glass. Lord help me if I have to pee.....
That's how mine started Monday morning! The day before my induction. Longest 26 hours of my life. Get some rest while you can!! I'm running on 3 hours tops since Monday @clarasmomma
Sleep? What's that ;-) I got hardly any during my induction last night -- those labor beds are so uncomfortable, and so was the constant monitoring. Tonight, hardly any sleep either...but holding my newborn in my arms while she sleeps is priceless!!!
I'm there with you sister. I may barely keeping my eyes open but this LO has the biggest eyes staring back at me!
@clarasmomma my dr said since I was in active labor before the induction it made the whole process smoother. I got my epidural at 7am and was dilated to a 4, my dr broke my water at 8:15, by 10 I was dilated to a 10.
@flutterbuggie - thank god I'm not alone. I swear I wake up in the morning and I can't believe how bad it is. I just showered and I smell like it's been weeks.
@FhSTAR81 - how much better are these expensive cookies? I feel like if they're a lot better I could totally justify it.
@Wolkie no idea about tea, but we were strongly cautioned against water in my baby care class for awhile. It fills their tummies but doesn't have the nutrients/calories breast milk or formula does to nourish them. I forget when you can...my guess is sometime after you introduce solids but I want to say I heard one year once... Anyone else know?
So we just got one of these with a "Congratulations You Had a Baby We Will Send You a BRU Gift Card" gift card.
OMGsh, best thing ever. My LO is 7 weeks and not really into most of the other things we have (and we have A LOT). I think she will be more interested later. But for now, she LOVES this thing. Happy momma over here!
Lilwatz That's the bouncer that we have too! LO isn't quite 3 weeks so I haven't put the attachment on yet but I hope he likes it, I love that it swaps back and forth.
TTC since Sept 2011, Unexplained IF Oct 12 - Jan 14: 3 clomid/TI cycles, 2 hysteroscopies, 2 IUIs, 1 BFP (MMC @ 12w), 2 more IUIs Feb 14: Gonal-f + IUI #5 = BFP! (EDD 11/4/14) Baby boy arrived 11/13/14!
@CarrieAnne09 oh yes, I smell worse, but I think it's mostly because I regularly forget to put on deodorant...
@bethas I had to pump in a fancy dress at a wedding once. I just did it in the bathroom, and it was actually really sweet, older ladies kept coming in and saying encouraging things or just giving me a smile. I've found people to be so supportive of that stuff. Good luck!
And good luck to you @lissydee - I'm sure it will go great!
@flutterbuggie that can be such a huge hurdle - good job! It will only get easier

My neighborhood has a meetup for parents of young kids every Wednesday. I planned to go today, but T was sleeping on my chest and I didn't feel like waking him. Now I'm mad at myself - it's so easy to just stay in the house all day, especially since it's winter, but I really need to take opportunities to get out and socialize. Blah.

DD decided she was done with her tummy time this morning and rolled over on her back. She then started to cry and looked really confused. I'm so not ready for her to roll over. I texted DH and he pulled the Good for her she is so smart and strong response.
Also after my WTF Wed. post I do need to share a good thing he did for me yesterday so I don't stay annoyed with him. He knew I needed to get out of the house but didn't want to have to be social with people so he had me go to the basketball game he had to work. So that way I could be out of the house but not have to actually socialize other then a quick hi, yep we're doing good. It was perfect and we only had to stay for half of the game.
I think someone switched my baby for one that sleeps. I got my first 4 hour stretch in between feeds. ah-mazing.
Also. Does anyone have nasty BO since giving birth? My god I stink.
Omg yes!!!! DISGUSTING! I have to shower twice a day. Anyone else having horrible night sweats?! I hear it's common and it's your body getting rid of water weight. I literally wake up soaking wet and smelling like BO. Luckily the night sweats are only a few times a week but damn, it's gross.
@SarahMaureenF I like to skip a week in between episodes so they pile up for our nighttime feedings. It's soooo good, don't lie to yourself.
I really want one of those f-ing sugar cookies.
@clarasmomma finally, I'm so excited for you. Be careful today.
It's disgusting outside and we are going to the pediatrician AGAIN this week for another weight check. I still can't pump more than 1.5 oz at a time and it's frustrating. I do hope the problem is with me and not the baby though.
I'm so tired but I can't seem to sleep more than 30 min at a time and every movie LO makes I wake up to make sure he's okay, which he always is of course.
I also have to stay in the hospital an extra day cause I've lost too much blood in the past 24 hours. I was totally looking forward to my bed.
@FhSTAR81 I'm so sorry. My heart gets so sad every time I hear how sad you are. I always hope for good news. Creepy internet hugs abound.
I really am a happy person, I'm just in a funk big time. I mean I know everyone has issues in their marriage at some point. Maybe I just need to relax a little.
Well, I hope this funk passes fast. And I hope your DH gets his shit together soon too.
Does anybody else loudly say "No crying in the <insert location of baby at the time>!" to their LO? And does it work for you?
No?...Just me?...Huh.
Yep! Or I'll say..."You're one month old and one month old babies don't cry anymore!! You're a big girl now...no more crying!!" She just looks at me like I'm crazy. (See attached, "Go to hell mommy " face)
I love that Lifetime plays Grey's Anatomy reruns from 1-4 most days (and when they change it up I get pissy mad).
My daughter was inconsolable last week. We found out she has reflux and give her Zantac now. HAPPY BABY IS BACK. Happy Mommy is here.
But, she also stopped eating as much and sleeping as well. And her appetite and sleep habits (7-8 hour stretch overnight!!!) are back!!! Plus she is way more alert, smiles all the time, coos (that's new for us!) and plays with some toys!!! So, now I am questioning if the medicine is helpful with the reflux or if she was having a developmental growth spurt... I have the wonder weeks app but according to them she shouldn't have even had the first leap yet (4 1/2-5 1/2 weeks) and it seems like she has signs for the second one (7 1/2-9 1/2 weeks). She's 7 1/2 weeks old, but only 4 1/2 gestationally. Also, I am not sure the gestational age is right because I am convinced the due date my doctors gave me was wrong.
The link above worked great for a mild case of gas FYI. Alistair went from fuss to bliss in about 10 minutes!! Photo below = passed out after tummy massage.
LO has been awake since 8am (3:30 now) and is exhausted but is having a really hard time falling asleep for a nap. I fed, changed and swaddled her and she's still fussing =(.
I really want a panera or potbelly sandwich but they're paving our street so I can't get my car out, and it's rainy so I don't want to take LO in the stroller for the mile or so walk. Maybe hubby will stop and get me one on his way home...
I also want some $4 Georgetown Cupcakes. They have chocolate peppermint, Christmas caramel, and sticky toffee pudding flavors for December .
Hubby has to go to Germany in late January and suggested that LO and I join him. It would be a lot of fun, so I'm thinking we'll do it, but am worried about that long a flight for LO.
@FhSTAR81 Sorry to hear that you're feeling so down. Try to find a few
minutes to do something just for yourself, even if just reading a
magazine in the bath with baby in a bouncer next to you.
Re: Wednesday Randoms
Well LO has decided she wants to eat every 30-45 minutes for about 9 minutes each.. This has been going on since 10 and it is now 1.. So frustrated!!

@clarasmomma it all sounds promising! When I went into labour I thought it was gas and kept going to the bathroom. Keep us updated
Good luck today @lissydee
@FhSTAR81 I'm too cheap for that, but I will admit those cookies look amazing
@heisenberg - yes! That's it. That way baby knows when I'm close by.
