I should be working, but I just have not found the motivation yet!
I don't think I have seen anything regarding ridiculous pregnancy myths so here it goes!
What are some of the most absurd myths you have heard about pregnancy? Any of them you have found to be true?

I think the silliest are the old wives tales for the sex.
eta: I think this looks fairly reliable: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/17150070/
DH - 27
TTC #1 since July 2014
Let's see....
Heartburn for hair - my oldest was born with a full head and not a bit of heartburn
If the hair on the back of the youngest childs head circles one way its the same sex and in the other the next baby will be the opposite sex (we had a good laugh about that one during my Anatomy U/S with the nurse)
Heartrate determining sex - dr said if that was true, my youngest would've been a girl and he most definitely is not.
Carrying low for a boy, high for a girl
pretty much every other sex prediction method. My two pregnancies were completely opposite in every way including the various myths and both were boys.

I had someone tell me I'm having a boy since I'm not having any symptoms, and because all I want is salty food...? Maybe I just like salty food!

I'm totally opposite! Unless I'm exhausted, I'm the one wanting it more than him! LMAO sorry for the TMI

Oh and the other crazy cakes myth I've heard is that stretching can make the placenta separate from your uterus.
The hair/heartburn myth proved true for us. But the HB was false. DS always had a HB in the 160s.

The myth I've heard is you can't reach above your head or the cord will get wrapped around the baby's neck
Me- 28, DH- 32 ----> together six years, married June 2012
Initial diagnosis of PCOS, currently labeled as unexplained infertility
BFP 12/20/13, EDD 8/25/2014, baby got his wings at 11 weeks and 3 days.

My cravings are pointing towards this being a boy, but I've always preferred salty foods to sweet ones.
