I've been on a big exercise (nothing major, just... some exercise, ha) kick and lower-carb eating since getting the GD diagnosis a week ago, and somehow, my bump looks both smaller overall, while also sticking OUT more. Does that make sense? Like the overall circle of my bump is somewhat smaller, but it's more concentrated out in the center. Ha!
I'll provide pictorial proof tomorrow!
--- Jan Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward to Most After Baby Arrives ---
Hello ladies! Sorry I have been away. I just wasn't too up since a last few days. So thought it's better to be away and not pull the holiday spirit down. I miscarried last year on 30Nov and so I wasn't in the right kinda mood. I hope I haven't missed much. Hope you all had a good weekend. I missed you, bumpies!
Can you ladies please send prayer and positive thoughts to my husbands cousin. We found out last night at 2am that her husband died in a car accident. They have three girls under the age of 8 and a baby boy on the way. This is so devastating. She is a stay at home mom and I cannot even imagine how she must feel. DH and I were up all morning crying and praying. Not sure how I am supposed to work today.
It is just so weird because we saw him on Thanksgiving.....it's just all so sad. I couldnt even imagine if I lost DH, especially with a baby on the way. He is my rock. I definitely squeezed him a little tighter this morning.
Oh @mirigirl that's heartbreaking! Prayers for all of you!
I can only assume DD is teething given the amount of drool pouring out of her mouth and soaking her clothes. So while there may be a small amount of pain it doesn't match the amount of tantrums she is having and DH always buys into her drama. She broke down this morning bc I put on my bra and she didn't want me to...
Sometime I break down because I have to put on a bra and I don't want to... And I'm not teething...
SO happy to hear the baby elephants made it safely! That's been my big thing today other than my appt this morning. Sorry for those of you that have had rough days! Creepy Internet hugs to everyone!
I might kick DH in the head when I get home, though. He knows I don't feel 100% still and this is the 2nd time in a week that he's called me with the "I stopped at 2 gas stations on the way home and neither one has the chew I like. Can you get some on your way home?" I don't care that he chews but it's hard enough that people get judgey when the giant pregnant lady buys any kind of tobacco or alcohol, let alone him being too lazy to hunt it down himself. I guarantee he looked at the same 2 places he went to last week and he passes 3 smoke shops on his way home that he could easily stop into to get it. They're also cheaper than a gas station. I told him no (he knows how upset a manager at Walgreens made me by getting judgey last week when I did it for him) and that I was picking up the money order for our mortgage and coming home since I still don't feel well and am finally able to rest since DS is at my mums. His words? "Well I'm sure Kroger has it so just get it there"

@wintersong139 yay for passing!!!! Eat some ice cream for me
Stuck in the box. :-(
I would, but I was also told only to gain half a pound per week...which I figure baby is growing half a pound per week by his or her lonesome...so I am trying to watch the sweets anyway. Although I did eat pizza rolls for dinner, so I may be failing.
ETA: Bubz seems to still be switching back and forth. Usually I feel kicks on my left side, about even with my belly button, and I assume this means baby is transverse. But accasionally, maybe once a day, I feel a fair amount of pressure on the front of my abdomen under my belly and get some hard kicks right to my diaphragm at the same time. Not to mention the extremely visible rolling around under my skin. (Granted, I am a FTM, so my observations may be way off from reality.) I would say to those who are worried, if my babe can still flip around so much at almost 29 weeks, there is still plenty of time to settle in!!

Oh, I didn't even THINK of how awkward it would be to buy chewing tobacco now that we all are obviously pregnant! I would totally make DH get his own tobacco- I'd get way too self-conscious and pissed off if I thought people were judging or if they made any comments.
@acpruchnik I didn't even think about people judging me the last time I went grocery shopping and had a 12 pack of beer in the cart. It didn't hit me until the car that the cashier was not so friendly to me was probably because of that. I told DH that he would have to get it from now on because I don't have the patience for people to be jerks.
I will say that I needed rum for a recipe (and my DH loves rum) and the guy at the liquor store didn't blink an eye at me being pregnant and buying rum. Oh well, I guess he was less judgey!
I'm been slammed at work today but I just want to warn everyone that if/when I participate in HDBD tomorrow, my bump is going to be about the size of a hot air balloon.... pretty sure it's about 6x the size it was last week (or so it feels)
Yeah girl that's how I feel. How can that even happen so quickly? It was like overnight I doubled in size!
Must be something about week 28/29! I know everything is weird and shocking as a FTM but honestly, I can't imagine continuing to grow for ANOTHER 11 WEEKS. How am I going to walk, stand up, move period??
@lotsofdotts People at head shops and liquor stores tend to be less judgey, IMO. He was waiting with a fight about it when I got home. I put a quick end to that one and I don't think he'll be bothering me about it again.

Just found out my brothers ex wife who hasn't finalized their divorce is pregnant. She's due within days of me and someone asked what I'll do if she delivers on my due date or at the same time as me. I'm not sure what they were looking for but it wasn't "absolutely nothing because her, her life and her random pregnancy with God only knows doesn't affect me, my life or my family."
I was also recently told that I can't have 3 kids because the most disliked family member on my dad's side has 3 kids.
Who comes up with this nonsense? Who cares that much about another persons life?Obviously, my family.
@wintersong139 I'm sorry that sucks. It's like you get to the third trimester and little by little they start taking things away. At least we are almost at the end. The reward of seeing our babies is worth it.
@elephantsonpatrol , don't want to spam the other great posts with a pug pic, but Poly wanted to extend to you her personal congrats! (funny enough, I've had this stuffed animal since I was a baby!)

My cashier the last two times I went to Total Wine was visibly pregnant. She didn't seem to have a problem with me coming up to her with a cart full of two six packs of beer, three reds and two whites. She even made a man who was stocking shelves help me take them to the car. :-)
really just needed to complain about how bad this leg pain is killing me. through the whole pregnancy I've only gained 5 pounds.. although I'm not complaining it seems like I should be gaining more.
