I was thinking today how thankful I am for this board and you guys. I'm pretty much alone with a newborn 24/7 and it's nice to have some adult interaction and support from my friends in the interwebz. >:D<
@Saragoeswest I'm getting mine today too. Why the cytotec? I didn't have to take any of that...
To soften the cervix I guess? How did it go for you? I just got home. It wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. I think the speculum is the worst part. Now I'm cramping though and that kinda blows. I got a holiday drink at Starbucks as a reward.
If not the eggnog latte, then which one?
Hazelnut praline. I think that's the name. The new one. I'm really digging it.
DD almost always farts before she poops. Mid diaper change, as I am applying diaper rash cream and holding her legs straight in the air, I hear a fart and immediately remove my hand. Sure enough, poop. Everywhere. Followed by a pee storm. Followed by another fart and sure enough more poop.
Needless to say a new sleeper, swaddle, and changing pad cover became necessary.
Thanks @Nicb13 and @SPurp13 I feel better about her spending chunks of her afternoon in her swing. She likes to doze in and out of sleep so I guess as long as she is happy I am too!
So when it rains, it freaking pours. DH has shingles. What 27 year old gets shingles? Oh probably one who has a newborn, a still recovering wife, and put 57 hours in at work for Black Friday week. That will do it.
I never had chicken pox (definitely tried to get them when I was a kid, but it just didn't happen) but I got the vaccine. I feel like if LO or I would get it we would have had it by now. He seems to be in the non-contagious part where the rash has crusted over. Going to the doctor Wednesday.
Heart melting moment: DD was napping in my arms when DH got home from work tonight. He sat down beside me and she woke up, blinked, looked and saw DH and got one of the biggest smiles I have seen on her face. We have a daddy's girl on our hands. She was all smiles and cooing for the next 10 minutes or so for the both of us.
@SPurp13 you are amazing with all you did today! Also, I started the mini pill and have had awful acne since then...hope it isn't the case for you.
@AppleGrapeMSTK that is unbelievably sad. Do you know if the baby is okay?
@shannonshare Yes, she had a healthy baby girl. From the details I got, I gathered that they discovered the cancer either before being discharged or at her 6 week PP check up. I don't know what kind of cancer she had, but it spread so rapidly, she only had a few weeks. I can't imagine what her family is going through right now.
@AppleGrapeMSTK I'm glad the baby is okay, though I really can't imagine the grief everyone must have. That is definitely some earth shattering need to hear.
Re: Monday Randoms
Lo survived at the daycare today but his eyes were red from crying when I got there. I know he will adjust but it was sad.
But I did get my hair cut, went to the grocery store, and did some light Christmas shopping.
Swung by my office and showed off my cute baby. Hopefully it will help ease my jitters about going back tomorrow.

Ok...maybe he just happens to be vocalizing when I'm cracking jokes. I can pretend!
