Nursery question?

Would it be a good idea to put a fish tank in the babys room? I'm thinking it would be good for brain stimulation but also thinking it might keep the baby up? I'm a new mom so if anyone has an answer please let me know :)

  • I think a fish tank could be super cool in a nursery! But I agree with pp, just make sure it is very sturdy and safely set up.
  • I had one in mine when I was a baby til I was around 4 I think (and we moved). I loved it!!
  • My H wants to put a fish tank in our LO's room too.
  • My 2 1/2 year old got a little (no filter or anything) single fish tank for her birthday. This weekend she went into her room, picked it up and brought it out to the living room- amazingly no spills! Point being, just make sure baby can't get at it ;) Also- make sure there aren't any lights as babies room should ideally be as dark as possible for best sleep.
  • Yes I agree with all previous posts. I think it would be fine for a baby but I imagine my crazy toddler and I don't think I could find anything super sturdy that he wouldn't try and mess with or throw stuff into.

  • I think it would be OK early, but kind of cruel to the fish to leave them unsupervised with a toddler.
