hey ladies, so I'm 7 weeks preggo and I usually get my bikini waxes monthly, but haven't done any since I got pregnant, is it safe? I'm scared cause of the pain and blood flow to the vag..
It's my second day signing in here, and I gave enough support the last time I used this app, which was 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my DD, people weren't as mean back then. Whatever

You're 2nd day? You gave an intro back at the beginning of the month, asked if you could take driving lessons while pregnant, and now this, and asking if you can have sex. Google is your friend, and so is your Doctor.
Ohhh this is the poster who asked if it was ok to drive.
That's right.

This would be sarcastic: "Heck no! They'll rip your blueberry right out of your vag!"
The answers PPs gave are not. You're welcome for the clarification. Now go get waxed.

I thought this was gonna be one of those fun threads I used to see all the time back when I was PG with DD where people talked about how the L&D nurses and your OBGYN will make fun of you if you DONT wax down there.
Which reminds me, I need to find a new waxer. hahaha.
The L&D nurses are gonna be laughing at me. I don't have TIME to shave down there. I trim but uh, that's about it. So I will be their comic relief (had a C/S last time so...)

I get my waxes every 6 weeks. They are totally safe during pregnancy. Just tell your esthetician that you are pregnant - they have you lie differently to get the "back".
All I was told was that it may be more painful. But I have been getting them for a long time so my hair is quite thin, anyway.
Also, my esthetician asked the front desk staff to book out extra time for my appointments. Just so she can go slower if need be.

Srsly and not all women like to shave or wax-- I like having pubic hair! I would be super offended if my nurses made fun of the fact that I'm a woman who has gone through puberty. Jesus
Argh, fucking quote fail.
I AGREE! Why do people get their panties in a wad over the stupidest shit? There is a chance I will poop while pushing. If they can't get over a little muff, they shouldn't be working.

Im not saying it happens for real. I have no clue and have never heard that with my own ears. That was just the thing i remember over and over on TB a few years back. People were always asking if they should do that because they heard "rumors." I always thought it was hilarious but it was almost as annoying as the "am I showing" posts I have seen this time. They were always very entertaining threads though.
I've been wondering the same thing. I'm a beauty student and we will be learning to wax in the new year. Students have to learn on students before we are allowed to even think about clients. So the person doing mine will be totaly unqualified and have had no experience at all. I am so scared! (

I work with ob/gyns in surgery, and can assure you they/we don't get bothered by some hair. If we're doing surgery, we have to clip the hair so it's more of an "aw shit now we have to do this" not making fun of anyone! Most of the obs have said they prefer if it's trimmed because it simply makes it easier to do exams and such. Unless l&d is complete bunch of fuck wads, no one will make fun of you for body hair you're meant to have

Don't you start with the easy stuff, like brows that you can get mannequins for? That's what we did back when I was in beauty school.
@kyrenora we have been told it will be brows and armpits then bikini. We won't be practicing on manikins, that would of put my mind at ease haha! I've had so many bad treatments off my fellow class mates.

Once you get the techniques for facial waxes down, everything else become substantially easier. It's all about skin tension and correctly applying the wax.

You know what's my biggest freaking pet peeve? When people call the Bump an app. IT'S NOT AN APP!!!!
My last Brazilian clued me in to my pregnancy! I got about 2 strips in and couldn't handle the pain. The waxer was like "are you pregnant?" Then the light bulb went off! It hurt about 10x what I was used to, but I hear it's safe if you can handle the pain!
Re: Bikini wax while pregnant
Of course it is fine.
