I think the "ugh" is coming from the fact that she checks babycenter????
Rachel would have been a bumpie. Poor life choices Ryan, poor life choices.

If one more person tells me to let my 4 month old cry it out, eat solids or says he is spoiled I will flip. I don't care if it's a 90 year old nun. I'm fucking done hearing it.
I'm such a dork. DH is flying solo with DD tonight so I can see Mockingjay at the movie theater.
How was it? Are you a book purist? How's the comparison between the two?

Trying to pull together a plan and get ready for a long-haul flight with 2 kids over Christmas without DH to help. Also this trip includes a one-hour connection both ways.
Why oh why did I think this was a good idea?
Also, I have a cold so I'm extra-deaf and very snuffly. Blergh.

Were you intoxicated when making this decision?

You'd think so but I don't drink so that can't be it.
All fairness to DD1, she's an angel on plane journeys so it's just luggage, weather and DD2 that have me stressed.
I have a 5 hour car ride ahead of me with DD tomorrow. I'm probably much more stressed out than I should be. I've only traveled that long once with her and DH was along.
I have a very tight schedule this morning and of course my 9am forgot we had a meeting and is scrambling around trying to get everyone together to call me back for our teleconference. If they don't hurry up my bewbs are going to asplode.
Day care just "suggested" that I try Dr. Brown bottles for DD since she spits up all over the place. I knew this was coming. Sigh.
DD spits up after almost every feeding. No one has suggested changing her bottle. The doctor just called her a "happy spitter." Does she get mad when she spits up, or is it just something she does and they're tired of cleaning up every time (which, really, they should be prepared for at this point if she's doing it regularly).

DD is a happy spitter. I don't think they're tired of cleaning up after her. I mean, she's a baby and the teachers have always been incredibly patient and don't seem to mind the actual act of cleaning up. I think it's mainly because she doesn't weigh very much (less than 12 pounds at her 4-month check-up) so they know I'm trying to feed her more, per the pediatrician's recommendation. If she can keep more of it down, the better.
I really believe the daycare providers are just trying to help us out.
They said if I didn't want to get the bottles, they were happy to just sit her up for 10 to 15 minutes after she eats, since that also seems to help.
I bought a 4 pack of the bottles for $20. We'll see how it goes before I invest in anymore. The bottles just sound like a major pain in the ass for the price.
Edit: quote fail --------------------
I used Dr. Brown's for one of my sons and didn't find the pieces to be too annoying. I did use the medala steam bags a couple times a week for the small parts just be sure they were really clean. All the pieces do take up a lot of room on the drying rack, though! I hope they work out for your LO.
stellabunny Cleaning bottle is a major pain, but I use Dr. Brown's and they don't seem like that much extra P I T A than regular bottles.
They give you a pipe cleaner looking like thingy to clean the weird shaped tube insert. I soak the parts in a bowl with soapy warm water and use the pipe cleaner at the end of the day. It's nice to have 4 so you don't have to do it after each use. They do cost more, but if it helps, I guess it's worth it. I got them bc my girl seemed to have excessive painful gas. She has reflux also. I don't know if they really help, but at this point I'm invested. I bought the stage 2 nipples. Good luck, hope it helps.
Stepped away from my desk for 30 min. Came back to 4 texts from DH. He's stuck in an elevator at work and no sign yet when they'll be able to get him out.
My niece (almost 9 months) was a happy spitter. She's ebf, and after every meal it's curdled milk puddles everywhere. I can't handle spit up or vomit. That's my one major parenting fail. I can't be near it, or anything. My poor niece, I've probably only held her 2 or 3 times. It's so gross.

DS never spit up. I've still yet to see him vomit (I'm sure it's coming and he'll make up for it). DD in her 5 months here has spit up more than DS has in 2 years. Same goes for the explosive diapers. Man we had it so easy with DS.

This happens at least once a year in the building where I work and is one of my worst nightmares, particularly when I was pregnant, not so much that I would give birth on the elevator, but that I might have to go to the bathroom.

Hope he is freed soon!
They got him out after a little over an hour being stuck. Didn't help that 3 different building people talked to him over the elevator call box and each time asked him the same questions like they didn't already have the information and/or were just discovering they were stuck. And he was stuck with a colleague that was claustrophobic.

Ditto.
Edit - the child spit up on me within 1 minute of posting. Yes, it was curdled. (Sorry if that gave you a visual, Ghost :-& )
Same here, DS is definitely a happy spitter. We just go through lots and lots of bibs and deal with the occasional projectile spits.
FWIW, we use Dr. Brown's bottles while I am at work and he doesn't seem to spit up as much after bottle feeds as when he breastfeeds. It doesn't make much sense to me, but that seems to be the case for us. The pieces are a little bit of a pain, but not a huge deal. I think the pump parts annoy me more.
I splurged and got ten 8 oz dr Browns bottles. I only have to wash every other day, and I've become real efficient and dismantling and piece washing. Also, creative stacking on the bottle drying rack
Can I just say how much I LOVE Fisher Price customer service! In September, I had to contact the replacement parts website because a mobile we had purchased has stopped moving, they asked for the model number and manufacture date and said they were sending out a new piece, free of charge. Fast forward to today, the vibration feature on our RnP stopped working last night and they do not have a replacement motor so they are e-mailing me a shipping label and are mailing out a refund check for the cost of it so we can get a new one. It's a PITA to have to go send the original back but it's pretty awesome that they are so willing and quick to help out their customers.
I just swore up from an infuriating dream, drenched in sweat.
We were in a new house, with huge rooms, DD was newborn again. All these people were there and they wouldn't shut the f up! And they kept coming into the baby's room! And he was already sitting up, and crawling and we didn't have a crib, so I'm baby proofing the floor which is all hardwood and all this furniture. And it's midnight, and still all these loud people are coming! And then I have to change this super poop that is comedy-movie worthy because the baby is kicking it everywhere and its oozed all over the place and its spattering people five feet away.
I'm hoping that by typing it out I can forget it and get back to sleep.
tl;dr : ksspiff had a crazy dream that made her mad. And sweaty.
I've let DS lick an apple and a banana. His face when he does it is the best thing ever.
Yep... I was going to post this in FFFC. DS really likes the banana, not so much the raspberry.
I let DD gnaw on an apple slice last week. She loved it. She also loved playing in the mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving, though I don't think any of those made it into her mouth.
I went and volunteered at the animal shelter last night. My sister flaked out and said that she wouldn't be able to watch my kids, so last minute, I took them over to my parents house. I thought that I would only be gone for 2 hours, max. I didn't anticipate leaving them there and didn't have a bag of milk for her. Well, I was gone for 2.5 hours and my mom and sister (who showed up) gave her applesauce. I know that fatty was probably hungry but I'm still a little miffed inside for them giving her applesauce. They were bitching at me for "making her starve" and then laughing about how they were the first to "give her food without permission from HER MOM!!" I will be better planned next time, assholes.

I am enraged just reading that. Totally something my DH family would do.
Well, I was at first and I'm trying to think rationally. Could she truly have been hungry?? I had fed her right before I left and immediately upon my return (which she didn't nurse that long). They said that she puckered and didn't eat it all that well. Well, DUH...she's never had anything besides BM before. "Oh, it won't hurt her!" I never wanted ex's family to watch my kids, now I'm thinking that my family needs to be added to that list also.
