Things I Never Thought I'd Do

Since finding out we were expecting, I've caught myself doing a few things my non-pregnant self would never have done.

My list of shame:
1. Wearing Ugg looking boots with maternity leggings.
2. Watching the 19 Kids and Counting wedding.
3. Tearing up during the Duggar wedding.
4. Eating McDonald's chicken nuggets for a bedtime snack.

Please ladies, share in my shame! What's on your list?

Your #1 shame is wearing Uggs with leggings?!?!

That is my pregnancy go-to outfit.

I guess I'll sit by myself.

I pulled chin hairs. But that's not really something I said I'd never do.

ETA: reading comprehension fail. I never thought I'd have to pluck chin hairs until I was pregnant with DD. Then realized yes you do indeed have weird hair growing everywhere.
  • Taking my temp vaginally for fertility charting was certainly something I never thought I'd do. I'm sure it gets way worse than that once baby arrives though.
  • So far I'm about the same as before but I love uggs lol but mine are not the usual pair and I love sweater dresses. I am pissed I need to go up a bra size already and I will be buying a pack of big underwear... :/

I thought I would eat like a saint through out my pregancy. Nope. More like fast food and potato chips.

This. I basically lived on french fries, milk, Cheetos and ice cream for the first 18 weeks (after previously being a very healthy eater). I am just now starting to eat healthier after doc said last week that I should only gain a "couple more pounds" by the time of my next appointment (12/9!). That seems impossible, given that I've been more in the pound-a-day club the past two weeks. On the bright side, healthy eating feels better and helps with the heartburn.

Does daily nipple hair inspections count?

    Second-ing souptin.

TMI warning: I've been finding black hairs all around my nipples/boobs. I've got a pair of tweezers that has a light attached and it works great for plucking dem nasty hairs.
    This sounds painful.

I also love leggings and boots. Its so incredibly comfy!!

I'm an emotional person to start with, but this pregnancy is exceptional. I've cried at shows I've seen before and didn't shed a single tear. I ugly cry a lot more than normal.

I also have gone many days without wiping off old makeup and putting on new...in fact, I haven't put make up on in weeks...period.

  • 1- pee my pants while puking
2- Wear leggings. I've owned some but never wore them out of the house. Today I wore them with boots and a sweater tunic and I might be hooked.
3- wear dresses to work. Okay, so this ones dumb but I'm really self conscious of a birthmark on my leg so never wore dresses to work before. Oh my gosh- it's like wearing a nightgown! I never knew what I was missing out on!
4- Go more than a day without shaving my legs/armpits. I used to be norotic about shaving. I think pelvic rest broke me.

Peeing while puking is the worst. Talk about adding insult to injury!
  • I never thought I would pee in my pants. Regularly. I mean anything can bring it on...a sneeze...nope...it's a sniss. This you are going just laugh? No way sucker. You are going to wet your pants. I must go through a billion panty liners a day. I hate those damn things. And all my underwear comes in 3-5 packs now. When did this happen to me?!?

  • I never thought I'd consider eating second breakfast and second dinner an actual thing. The hunger! It's taking over.

Second dinner is the best. I just had a second dinner of candy. Usually it's whatever I had for first dinner. But who wants to g et BBQ ribs all over themselves just before bed?

  • Personal grooming has taken a nosedive. And this is not the time to slack on hair removal. The underwear I just bought is so huge and hideous, but I don't have the fortitude to deal with wedgies right now.
Same with the underwear, and I never thought I'd say this but... I LOVE IT. I have never been more comfortable in my life.

    ***** December Siggy Challenge *****

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • Snoring... check.  Black hairs on chin and boobs... check.  Peeing while throwing up... check.  Being a total lazy ass... check.  Isn't pregnancy glamorous?

Meanwhile, I've also caught myself wearing sweatpants out of the house, which I've never done before.  On the one hand, I feel bad because I look like a slob.  On the other, they're so comfortable!  I do try to wear them with cute(ish) shirts, but that doesn't make me feel too much better.  I've also been wearing makeup less and less because I just can't be bothered.

Fortunately, I am eating relatively healthily.  I can't claim willpower, though- fast food has become disgusting and all I seem to crave is fruit.

    November Siggy Challenge: Selfie Fails

Hidden for the sake of your eyes!

  • I used to eat all organic, tons of vegetables, all home cooked food or farm-to-table. I thought I'd be even more healthy pregnant, but it's so hard to get even my vitamins down, I eat tons of sugar lately, and I just spaced out and used Shoe Goo without even noticing that it has a warning about birth defects (I was careful about not breathing it, but still—so stupid and I feel insanely guilty now).

I'm ashamed at how unhealthy I've been. I hope I'm not damaging this poor baby with my awful lack of restraint.

Also never thought I'd be okay with pink, but I sorta am.
  • Ugh! And I totally eat second breakfast almost every day and sometimes two dinners. On vacation we would eat dinner at one restaurant and then go find another place for a 2nd dinner bc I was too embarrassed to be the ugly American buying two meals at a time

It's really comforting to know I'm not the only one. I feel guilty about it.
  • I'm beginning to think were all becoming hobbits with our 20 meals a day. ;)
I don't like uggs so that'll remain a never for me.
I never thought I'd get upset about family Christmas. My 28 yr old cousin got all butt hurt last year during white elephant because he didn't like what he ended up with. So this year his mother, yes that's right his mother, decided we shouldn't do it. So instead we have to make a food basket or Christmas decoration. Seriously don't play the game if you don't want to risk the outcome. But yes that all upset me to the point of almost crying. Almost.
