LO's "big gift"?

I have changed my mind like 30 times when thinking about P's big gift for Christmas, so I'm looking for some inspiration.  I'm willing to bet that I'm not the only one lol  So for those of you that have it figured out, what is your LO's big gift this year?  Bonus points for links and/or PIP :)

  • @mermomof6 We were going to get him a tool bench, but I never ended up finding any that I really liked that didn't have a lot of small pieces.  Then I thought about an activity cube with a bead maze on top, but it's like $60 and I don't know if it's truly worth it.  I also considered a table and chairs set.  I know I'm probably overthinking lol
  • We got Vinny an art table that is kind of a Christmas/Birthday gift. Also the anywhere chair will be his other bigger gift.

  • I'm getting them more crayons & coloring books. So both big gifts are going to be comprised of small things they are obsessed with. We can take them to build a bear too.

  • Only a cozy coupe as of now.
  • Also a kitchen, from my ILs. My mom is going to get her some dress-up stuff, and my dad is getting her (or making her? TBD) a learning tower.

I think we'll probably get her art supplies and such.

  • Step 2 brand kitchen. I can't wait!

We are redoing the basement and fixing it into a playroom so I don't think we will get a "big" present for Tess. Maybe an anywhere chair for the basement.

ETA: Also maybe a sled :)

  • We also have a kidscraft table and chairs in the kitchen. DD and DS also love theirs. They eat their snacks at it every day.

We got DD an anywhere chair for her birthday and she also loves it.

@KikiCohen‌ we bought DS the fisher price tool bench set for Christmas when he was one and it does not have any small parts. DD also likes to play with it.

DD's big gift is a step 2 play kitchen.

  • I'm thinking an anywhere chair too for Eli. He got a tool bench for his birthday that we just recently put together and his sisters have a nice play kitchen that he plays with all the time. He's getting a small train set from one grandparents and wooden blocks from another. I asked for a car playmat/carpet that he can drive his trucks/tractors on too.

  • OK so those of you with any anywhere chair, did you monogram or personalize? I'm thinking it would look so cute but then if you were to ever want to resell it you wouldn't be able to? Or do I want to keep it forever as a keepsake? Hmm... They are $20 off today only!

  • I think we are going to do something really stupid and get him a small drum set. He absolutely LOVES, LOVES music. My husband has bongos and LO will get them out and sit and beat on them for forever.
ORRRR one of those chalkboard easels. He also loves coloring on everything. Chalk is the cleanest thing he can color the house with.
No links...I'm too lazy too look them up :)

  • @fabk‌ That sounds so cute! You'll have to post a pic when you're done.

@blairwitch‌ That's hilarious, but you have my sorries lol. I have no idea where we'd put a 5 ft anything.

@dontgiveupnomatterwhat‌ P has a little drum that he LOVES. It says the alphabet and plays different sounds when you hit it. It's one of his favorite toys for sure!
  • @KikiCohen‌
Awwww! We also have a little one that sings songs. It's probably a waste to get a child's drum set right now! :)

  • I got Oliver a little kitchen that is just a stove, oven thing and he can sit in the floor and play with it. I hope it's not too babyish and he likes it. He also got plastic food and a basket to go with it. We just don't have room for the huge toys.

His grandparents are getting him a wagon and I heard his aunt and uncle are getting him one of those cars they drive. Ridiculous.
  • @casey78‌
If I had my way, we would get something small and awesome like that...however, I think we are going for the bigger set deal.

I had DS and DD's names put on them. I really like how they look personalized. I figure they will use them for a number of years so I was okay with not being able to sell them.

  • Allison is totally going to have more then enough from grandparents and aunts and uncles. So we probably get something smaller for her and then do something with stock, college saving., etc.

  • A castle tent from IKEA...it is our big gift for the two boys.
  • I think we may forgo a "big" gift for Caleb--we already have a kitchen, tool bench, wagon, tricycle, scooter, strider bike, anywhere chairs (personalized--but I figure we can sell just the inside part and someone could buy their own cover if we want to resell, they do sell the covers separately), etc...so far for Caleb I just have books, small Lego Duplo set, and I did get him the "let's imagine Elmo" so I guess that will be his "big"/main gift! We'll probably get him a few other small things too. DH wanted to get Landon a 24 inch tall transformer today--I said noooo--regular sized only please, we're running out of room!

  • He is getting an anywhere chair and a 4-in-1 tricycle for his big gifts from us.
  • We are getting her a step 2 kitchen. I'm still deciding on which model though. I asked grandparents to get food and dishes for the kitchen, accessories for her baby, and mega blocks.

L is getting the B. Toys drum @casey78 linked. I guess that's his big gift? We are trying very hard not to go overboard and set expectations for lavish gifts every year. We don't have room for a lot of toys or for big toys, and I am trying to keep spending in check. He's getting the drum and a book and some clothes that he needs.

DH and I were just discussing hiding a few of the toys he already has for the next three weeks, and then wrapping them up and putting them under the tree. I think he would be just as excited :) am I the Grinchy one now?

Given how much Lyra seems to prefer wrapping paper and boxes over actual toys, I'm thinking I'll just wrap all the big (empty) boxes that come from Amazon in the next 3 weeks as her presents :D

We gave Nikita a big roll of bubble wrap one year :)
