baby movement at 12 weeks?

This is my second pregnancy. My first was 5 years ago. I was able to feel my daughter moving, but around 18-20 weeks. I am 12 weeks this fo around and I could swear I have been feeling movements.. is this heard of? If so, what is the earliest you felt your baby move?

I actually felt my baby move the moment of conception. Words cannot describe the feeling of that strong, rugged sperm fighting it's way to the egg. After they finally met it was like the big bang of the universe. Magical. My body could no longer contain the energy and I farted.

Ignore the rude comments. It's uncommon but possible. I didn't know I was feeling fetal movement until at the doctors when it was actually confirmed by u/s at 13 weeks. I had just figured I was feeling gas bubbles prior to the ultrasound.

Typically this early it's just has, I'm 12 weeks today and swore I was feeling movement. Don't let the rude comments get to you, there's almost no such thing as a dumb question and that is most certainly not one. Some people say they've felt the baby as early as 13 weeks but even most doctors will tell you that you probably won't feel anything until 16 weeks at the earliest

I just downloaded this app today as I've hit the 12 week mark after three previous miscarriages and finally felt comfortable tracking my pregnancy. What a disappointment. For being grown women (or at least grown enough to be able to conceive) there are an awful lot of rude comments going around. I suggest you grow up and learn some compassion and understanding before you become a mother. For those of you who actually want support and less of the grade 12 drama and jabs, join Baby Centre's app, you won't find the rudeness like you do here. And with that, I'll be deleting this.

Hi

. I'm sure the other ladies have mentioned above that there has already been a discussion on this topic. It has been discussed so many times. Chances are, even with a second pregnancy it is just gas. Baby's muscles and bones are still developing. It would take a lot of effort for the little baby to move around enough for you to feel. Yes, it is moving but we can't feel it. Your almost there, give it another couple of weeks.

if you are on the app the search function is at the very bottom, just have a little check to see if what your posting has been discussed already and maybe your question will have been answered. It keeps everything neat and tidy.

I just had an apt I was 13 weeks. And the doctor said and I quote...."so your 13 weeks now, I KNOW you can't feel any movement yet, but how have you been feeling? Any better yet?" Why would the doctor say that if you could feel it at 13 weeks? She didn't even ask me if I felt it she went right on to say "I KNOW you can't feel any movement yet"

So I went to a thread about this that was started a while ago and decided not to post on that one as it seemed to go completely off subject

I am 14 weeks and today I felt this really strange, what everyone is calling "fluttering". However it was continuous for at least 15 minutes! It was not followed by a bathroom trip or gas. Just a feeling I have never felt before. This is my first and I must say, if it was pregnancy related, it was a very strange sensation!

@momtobeobrien‌ FTM here too- I totally agree that all the changes occurring with our bodies is so strange- it's like an alien has taken over! It's a little bit fascinating and I feel kind of like a science experiment. I would encourage you to read as much as you can about what's happening to you so a) it won't be as terrifying, and b) you'll be able to communicate with your doctor better if you have concerns there might be a problem.

At 13 weeks, you *should* be able to feel the top of your uterus just above your pubic bone depending on your size. Won't be able to feel the baby yet but it's neat (to me) to have that grounding sense of what's happening in there. Oh- and from personal experience, don't palpate for your uterus if you have to pee...

So it turns out my cousins new girlfriend is an ultrasound tech so of course I had to bring this up because now I feel like I'm doing research...

She is now the THIRD medical professional I've spoken to who said after a year or so she gave up trying to tell women they weren't feeling their baby yet, and now just nods and smiles and says. "Aww wow that's great!

I told her about the special snowflakes she's creating and she said... You try explaining 6 times in one day that the babies limbs are not big enough OR strong enough yet to create movement outside of the placenta. And yeah, I'd probably give up too.

I'm amazed by how intense the intestinal stuff can be. Like I could totally see someone mistaking that for a baby kick (when it's big enough for that, my little prune couldn't possibly muster up that kind of force). I don't know if it's gas or organs shifting but YIKES is it forceful. It also sometimes does a super weird fluttery thing. Intestines are magical, y'all.

Actually it was an article on americanpregnancy.org. I just assumed it was legit, maybe they're all a bunch of quacks. I'm not even sure how you objectively determine something like that, but I just assume the experts know something I don't lol.

Isn't the point of a board like this to be supportive and helpful? I get that maybe this topic is getting old or that you're tired of people being hopeful to be feeling their baby's first kicks- but honestly being hurtful and rude about is just messed up- some of us are experiencing this for the first time and don't know what to expect. What ever happened to "if you have nothing to say, say nothing at all". If you think it's stupid and you're sick of reading about it, why did you find it necessary to click on it and read all of the posts and be hurtful? Sounds like you need a job, a life- of like some woman side previously, some compassion as a soon-to-be mother.

As a first time mom I always get offended by the "I'm a FTM and I don't know any of this!!!" Read a book. Read posts. Google. It's really not that hard.

You should have read the newbie blog.

But since now you've just insulted all the people who actually give all the support around here, you have two options: apologize and promise to lurk before posting again so you understand how the board works; or two, just go ahead and get the fuck out.

I suggest option two. And you can take @1boy3girls‌ with you.

I second this. You obviously don't see the support we give to those who need it because YOU DONT ACTUALLY READ THE BOARD. If you did you'd see how many repeat posts there are and understand why it's annoying seeing the same stuff day in day out when there's people going through loss and worry that need us. You'd also see that this is a great community of woman who have fun and have a laugh.. All you special snowflakes make us out to be bitches.. If you LURK you'd see this isn't the case.

Ok so can I just say that for the first time last night, I noticed a hard protruding thing, just above my pubic bone like the size of a baseball. I got like super excited. Like cheerleader excited. I busted into the bathroom while DH was (apparently) trying to poop (hey, it happens to me all the time, it was time he knew how it felt) and was like "dude, feel this". So yea..that's my real life story. No showing/bump or anything like that...and certainly no "flutterings" or feelings, but still I was like oh ok...something is changing down there.

So, with that in mind, my innards are clearly all re-positioning and such...I would assume some sensations and sounds could accompany that movement. In my case, if I feel or hear anything...I am still just hoping it's finally a healthy turd ready to make it's exit.
