Ugh, I almost punched DH last night. It was about 4 am, I was sort of awake, and one of the cats, Nox, jumped up into the bed and wanted attention. So I was petting him, and he turned and bit and pulled some of DH's hair (he does this normally, this isn't out of character, just a little odd to do in the middle of the night). A few moments later, DH startles awake, rolls onto his stomach to try and look around to see what happened, spots the cat, grumbles something, and punches Nox. Nox freaks out, and jumps on my FACE to get away. I snap at DH, he reaches for me, I shove him away and get out of bed to go to the bathroom and then start crying (thanks pregnancy hormones). Then I come back to bed, and can't fall back asleep. Eventually I did get some sleep, after snapping at DH again which made me feel better, lol.
GTKY: I have to have green bean casserole, and always skip the yams with marshmallows. Also, team canned cranberry sauce. ;;)
I'm secretly happy to be working tomorrow/Fri. I don't think we have any scheduled surgeries today so I get holiday pay, typically lighter assignment and don't have to deal with as much family drama. I literally show up for dinner, eat, shower, bed.
I overdid it yesterday. Christmas lights were put on the house & the guy advised to trim the crepe myrtles soon so they wouldn't knock down the lights. So I did.... along with the entire frontyard shrubs, treets, raking, bagging, etc. We've been putting it off for weeks so happy it looks good for T-Day, and it's done!
GTKY: sweet potatoes (potato + gobs of butter; no marshmallow crap).
@amack22 - I would go w 9 month stuff or even 12 if you're stocking up for a couple of reasons: 1) DH is 6 feet and I'm 5'9 so chances are our lil guy will need the length, 2) I prewash stuff so I thereby account for shrinkage, and 3) if you buy "summer" stuff that you don't get to until fall, you can still use it for layering.
Someone mentioned Buckeye cookies about three pages back and now they're all I can think about. Guess who's making buckeyes today....!
Yay for pretend Friday! Super excited to pig out tomorrow and be with family.
Today we have our follow up scan for LO's SUA - 2 vessel cord. I'm incredibly nervous. :-<I truly hope they tell me that she's growing the way she should and that everything looks great. I didn't sleep a wink last night and I'm clocking out at 12:00pm from work today for the appointment, so my morning is dragging! I'm super excited to get to see her today, though.
Good luck to the momma's who have the GD tests today!!
GTKY - Homemade cranberry sauce and yams - OM NOM NOM! You can skip me on the stuffing.
@cloe111479 I wish my BF was a little more in the holiday spirit. We may not even get a tree up this year trying to redo the floors before baby gets here (
Sorry he isn't in the spirit. Maybe you can get a little table size one? :-)
WAIT, WHAT?! @nomnomasaur0426 - Why did they give you the rhogam in the butt? (Sounds even worse when phrased like that). I got my shot in the arm and it hurt like a charley horse.
I've decided to work from home today and give my poor legs a rest by skipping the gym also. I think I might have overdid the work out in the past 2 weeks, my knees feel like they're about to buckle when I take the stairs. I'm blaming the relaxin.
Apple pie is my must have, I always call first dib. I don't care for anything that's squash based. Pumpkin pie, I'm talking about you. Also I don't care much for mashed potatoes but would take roasted potatoes.
I have so far been an emotional mess today. I have cried way too many times over nothing. Once after I got off the phone with my mom asking her to let the family in Oklahoma know I wish I could be there, once in the nursery, once when the babies got super active, once talking to the dogs, and twice listening to music.
I know pregnancy can mess with your hormones but this is ridiculous. I'm just glad nobody is home to witness these bizarre moments.
And to AW for a sec, we ordered 2 snowflake ornaments for the babies since that's what we have called them, and they just came in.
I'm gonna do a quick run to the store for last minute thanksgiving things, but other than that I'll just be prepping food today! safe travels to all of you ladies!

GL on the GD tests. @chickyclg - those are very cute. Trying to decide if we should leave work early to head home. It a three hour drive and the road map has us in the continuous ice and snow but the plows are out and its all interstate driving.
GTKY: love mashed potatoes and gravy. Leave the stuffing and yams.
Another random for you all. These bloody noses at 3am are not working for me. It's very dry here right now and my nose is killing me. Just another odd pregnancy symptom.
oh no I am soo sick feeling all the sudden, I feel like I will puke and I have chills, I hope I am not getting sick. H and I share a vehicle and If I go home I will have to drive back 35 min in a storm to get him. wonder if he will drive me home on his lunch break?
I cannot wait for DS to go take his nap. I have so much that I want to get done and I cannot do it until he is in bed, because he will want to be involved.
Also on tap for my afternoon: WTF do I make for dinner? I don't want leftovers taking up real estate in my fridge, but I don't want to order in. Maybe I'll just make spaghetti and meatballs.
F15 December Siggy Challenge: Holiday Decoration Fails
They're letting us off at 2pm today...wohooo! Then home to relax and prep a sweet potato casserole (Ruth's Chris style) for Friday at my parents'. Tomorrow will be with the DH's side. Not looking forward to the 3 hour drive, considering we were just down there for my baby shower on Saturday...but the promise of all the delicious food makes is all okay.
GTKY: Can't live without good stuffing and gravy...can live without pumpkin pie (don't hate me)!
I'm just going to say that the cost of shipping to the island is the only thing that keeps me from doing tons of shopping online for baby things like clothes and cloth diapers. It also makes me incredibly jealous of everyone that can get easy/cheap shipping, especially when there are cute seasonal prints and I want them.
@Alygohome - I hope you aren't getting sick. Must.Not.Get.Sick
I just scored two discounted tickets to the Transiberian Orchestra for Friday night!!! Surprising my Mom with a date! Super excited!! Christmas is starting early this year!
Omg... full on toddler tantrum now for the last hour with Henry fighting his nap. My parents are here and my DH is working from home because of the snow and he's on a conference call. I feel like such an incompetent mommy right now. This is the child who usually doesn't make a PEEP at naptime. :-<
I just need stuffing. That is all. Crispy stuffing though baked in a pan - not in the bird (gross)
@oem617- go out and get a humidifier! Today! I had the same problem and resisted getting a humidfier. I finally got one last week and it has changed my life. I breathe so much easier and no more nosebleeds. Start running it in the bedroom a few hours before you go to sleep to get it nice and humid in there.
Argh. I just called my OB GYN because I went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood- just a few drops, but bright red. I am now supposed to be on complete rest today and tomorrow. If anything gets worse, I have to go to L and D tonight. If I am still having drops of bright red blood tomorrow, I have to call the on call doc and may need to go to L and D tomorrow.
My parents are going to be here any minute. They have no idea I am having spotting issues. They think I'm cooking thanksgiving dinner for them. I was going to make an apple pie tonight. Now I have to tell them I'm on rest and not supposed to do anything.
I really didn't want to tell them about the spotting because it will just make them anxious.

Oh hun Im sorry!! Im sure they will understand and pick up the slack with the cooking. Yours and LO's well being comes first! I really hope the spotting stops. Keep us updated and take it easy. Hugs!
@maple403 - they'll be anxious, but I am sure willing to do whatever needs to be done to take care of you and LO. Take it easy and I will be sending good thoughts your way.
Damn it, @Maple403, I'm sorry. Your parents will understand, though, and they'll be more than happy to help their daughter and grand baby get the rest they need, I'm sure. Hugs. Keep us posted!
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

@maple403.. T&P's to you. I would let your parents know once they get there. I am sure they will completely understand. Maybe they or someone else can run to the store and get some "pre-made" stuff for you guys for tomorrow.

Oh I should just steal DS. I never even thought of that. Going to try that tonight for sure. Thank you!
Thanks, everyone (@cloe111479, @lizjennings81, @hernsy, @lizzybean). I will tell them right away, once they are settled inside. Better to tell them sooner, it'll just be more awkward if I wait.
My mom is a doctor, so that is both good and bad. Good because she won't freak out when I tell her I'm spotting/bleeding. Bad because she likes to be in charge and will see this as an opportunity to take over.
Thank god for netflix- we can watch shows together at least!
@Maple403 you need to take care of yourself and that LO. Like the other ladies have said I'm sure your parents will understand and will gladly help out. T&p's and keep us posted.
