    1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner? Green bean casserole with those onion crunchies on top. Oh-- and CANNED cranberry sauce!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole? Fruit cake.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?
My sister’s gf is really annoying and cocky, but besides her, I am looking forward to seeing my dad! I am a total daddy’s girl.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers? Lounge and graze.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?
We dry out the wish bone and two people get to play tug of war with it to see who gets the biggest piece. Whomever does, has good luck the following year.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

    Pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes!!!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

    Fruit cake.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

We are spending thanksgiving with friends because we are moving two day after thanksgiving--so not worth the 6hour drive back to our families.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

In college I spent every thanksgiving with grandparents and cousins. We used to watch football after eating so we would all nap in front of the tv for hours.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

There is ALWAYS a game of cards on Thanksgiving! When I spent it with my cousins and grandparents we played Rummy until at least midnight.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

Sweet Potatoes-  My Mom and my FIL make them different but they are both sooooooooooo good.

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

My FIL's stuffing.  It smells gross and looks gross but DH and his siblings practically drool over it.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

My SIL (DH's brother's wife)  She's been aggravating me a lot the last few weeks.  I don't feel like dealing with her at all.  She monopolizes conversations and has to butt her nose in everything.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

    Lounge and Graze.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

We get to have 2 Thanksgivings every year.  My Mom and sister work retail so Thanksgiving day has become impossible to enjoy the dinner, so we decided about 7 years ago to do it the Sunday before so there's less stress and everyone can be there.  It's awesome.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

Pumpkin cheesecake rolls! I am making this tonight!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

    None really...

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

I am looking forward to seeing my 5 year old brother! Love him to peices!

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

    Lounge and eat more!

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

Nothing to exciting just cooking all day, and football!
  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

Mashed potatoes & gravy and tons of it! And chocolate silk pie..mmm. And usually wine :(

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

Yams, canned cranberry sauce, this weird fruit thing my MIL makes.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

Probably my DH's aunt and uncle. Usually I wouldn't mind, they're a little out there but in general sweet. Except they are like anti-kid and I'm not even sure if they know I'm pregnant again or not.

Let's just say last time when I was pg with DD they decided to give us a lecture about how hard kids were and did we want to have them so young, etc etc. I was like WTF?? Are you kidding me? 1-I'm not 16 and pregnant 2-because you know so much about kids and how hard they are? 3-what am I supposed to do get rid of it? Like, you know this has already happened right.... ugh sorry rant over haha

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

It depends, we went out shopping the last couple years for DD. Nothing crazy though. This year we talked about it but I'm like 90% done with shopping already and I don't think there's anything worth the crowds.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

My side of the family usually sides around and plays games after dinner. Lately it's been cards against humanity which always results in lots of dirtiness and laughs.

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole? Green bean casserole and canned cranberry sauce. Yuck.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?
    Nah

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers? We watch Football

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?
We always play games. At my in laws there's usually a pretty intense domino game.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?Stuffing and pumpkin roll ...but really all of it!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?I am not a huge fan of jello salads or the sweet potato dishes with tonds of sugar and marshmellows but mostly those are not at the table when I am with close family.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?Nope we are staying home for Thanksgiving so we don't have any family we are seeing but I wish we did!

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers? No shopping we just hang out - I am a bit nervous since 49ers and Seahawks are planing and those are DH & I's teams and it usually is not pretty when they play ( I would like to skip the game and drama but not sure that will happen)

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share? We like to go skiing the day or two after and hope to Saturday ...I want to get one trip in before I cannot fit my snowgear and am more off balance then I will call it a season :)

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner? Mashed potatoes. My favorite!

     2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole? Anything made with gizzards or innards. No thank you.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are? Eh, no one really bothers me family wise. However, I really am hoping I don't have to talk about this pregnancy the whole time. I can see a few family members irritating me with their busy-body ways.

     4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers? I don't shop on Thanksgiving. I am one of the people who believe everyone should get to enjoy the holidays and not have to work so we can all buy crap we don't need. So I eat until I feel sick and then take a nap :)

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share? Our Thanksgivings are really boring and almost identical from year to year. I wish there was something worthwhile of sharing!

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

     Stuffing! And gravy! And cornbread!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

Most of them :( Mashed potatoes, anything pumpking, creamed onions, yams, green bean casserole, etc, etc.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

It's more I'll be missing the people that won't be there.  H is working and my sister will be at her husband's house for the first time.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

    Def no shopping!

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

There will be at least 40 people at my Thanksgiving dinner.  Usually we do it at my great aunt's house but she's passing the baton and this is the first year at my cousin's house so I'm very interested to see how it turns out.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

My grandma's homemade mac and cheese

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

Stuffing and green bean casserole. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of traditional Thanksgiving foods.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

I'm looking forward to seeing all my family since they live about 4 hours away, and I don't see them as often as I'd like.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

We are huge Black Friday shoppers.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

Thanksgiving is always hilarious. There are just so many of us and we always have a blast.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner? deviled Eggs and canned cranberry sauce, I'm a loser

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?
Stuffing/Dressing- I don't care what you call it, boxed or homemade...I've just never been able to stand it

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?
Not really anyone I'm not looking forward to seeing. I guess my grandma, but only because it's so sad to see how far she has declined with her Alzheimer's, I want to see her I just don't want to see what she can't do or remember.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?
Unfortunately with black Friday being Thursday now, my mother and I do go out shopping while the rest of the family eats leftovers for supper.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?
We don't have this tradition anymore, but my favorite memory of thanksgiving time was with my Italian grandmother. We always had spaghetti for lunch and her son's and their kids always had a black olive fight- much to her dismay. The kids couldn't wait to be old enough to participate.....ya, super childish- but it was so much fun. Then the adults all played pinochle. I was never old enough to learn to play and now no one in our family plays anymore.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?
Toss up between mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. Can't wait for tomorrow!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?
I'm vegan now, but growing up my mom always used to make "oyster dressing". It looked disgusting, smelled disgusting, and tasted disgusting. I used to call it "tadpole casserole". Bleigh!

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?
This is the first Thanksgiving/Christmas my whole family has been together for in 5 years. My parents, brother, and SIL are all coming out to Cali. I can't wait!!!

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?
Usually just lay around, naps for sure. Guys watch football. We might go see a movie later in the evening, not sure.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?
We would always have Thanksgiving with my moms side of the family growing up, which was just her sister's family and my grandparents. I will miss seeing my grandpa this year, we would always break the wishbone!

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?
I would have to say pecan pie, but I doubt I will get any this Thanksgiving.

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?
    I cannot stand yams.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?
I know this may sound mean, but I am not looking forward to see any of my family members really. I have never been a huge family person because most of my family members are distant. I will be home with my mom and sister like I always have been besides the 1 year of college and few months I had my own apartment.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?
I will probably eat what my mom cooks for three meals and call it a day.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?
    I don't have any.
  • @Beeorange‌ - Wait. Turkey and mashed potato sandwiches on rolls?! Ohhhhh yessss!!!!!
  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

My family's stuffing recipe! Of course they are in Canada, where Thanksgiving has already happened - and we haven't had a Thanksgiving (Canadian or American) together since I got married - so maybe that doesn't count. Still, I can't think of anything I will see on my in-laws' table that I find particularly drool-worthy. This is my husband's favourite meal ever but I can honestly take it or leave it.

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

ANY OTHER STUFFING, hahaha! And any type of casserole.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

My brothers-in-law are kind of jerks. Also neither of them has yet acknowledged that we are having a baby. I don't expect them to want to discuss it at length, and they probably don't give a shit that they are becoming uncles, but not even a "congratulations"?!? Lame.

I am sort of looking forward to seeing my husband's maternal grandmother, mostly since we haven't seen her since sharing the news. Lots of men in that family, so I think the women appreciate the opportunity for baby talk! Plus they are the only ones who are excited.

     4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

    Lounge in sweatpants!

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

Our first Thanksgiving together was 2 years ago, shortly after our wedding. It was also my first holiday/family event with my in-laws and it was a little awkward to say the least. He had to work that day so the meal was at noon, we hung around until 2:30, he went to work and I went home. I didn't know anyone here yet and had no place to go so I just  changed into my PJ's and had a Netflix marathon. I was practically asleep on the couch when he called at midnight, said he was 5 minutes away and did I wanna go grab a beer or something. I jumped up and said OH GOD YES, got dressed as fast as humanly possible and raced down to meet him out front. "A beer" turned into several and we still joke about how we accidentally got tanked, maybe it's a "you had to be there" deal but it always puts a smile on my face.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

Stuffing- in the bird, out of the bird, oyster, etc.  I love it all.

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

Cranberry sauce.  It just grosses me out.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

My SIL's husband.  He's so annoying, and trashy, and I always dread spending time with him.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

I graze for a while, then take a nap, then meet up with my sister and friend who I go black Friday shopping with every year.  We usually head out around midnight and start with the outlets, then head over to the malls.  I'm looking forward to checking out Pottery Barn Kids this year!

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

This year my MIL made a chart for each family member to guess the sex, birthdate, and weight of my LO.  She sent me a picture of it, and it seriously took me a minute to figure out who "Mommy" and "Daddy" were on the list...duh.

  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about
    Thanksgiving dinner?

I love turkey, rolls and gravy with mashed potatoes. I love getting them all in one bite. Yum!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10
    foot pole?

I'm not a fan of this weird cheese sauce my brother in laws family makes. My mom always makes Waldorf salad too. Apparently it's the 80's still.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing?
    Any you are?

We are going to my sisters house. My brother in laws family will be there. They are not my favorite. They are quite classless, usually hammered and loud. They also make my sister a little frazzled. So I'm glad ill be helping her cook.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants
    unzipped grazing on leftovers?

We usually play games or cards, watch White Christmas and look at the Black Friday ads.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want
    to share?

One year we went to my aunts and my uncle got all pissy about how people were playing poker. They have "house rules" that were unspoken and my BIL doesn't play that way. My uncle made a huge deal out of it and acted like a child. So BIL and H took off and went to the bar. Once my sister and I got there the boys were wasted and buying drinks for random strangers. It was just so weird being at a dive bar on Thanksgiving.

A cranberry relish that I make.  It has whole cranberries, mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, and pecans in it.

      Fruitcake

     3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

Not looking forward to seeing DH's older brother.  He gets really drunk at every family function and causes trouble.  Thinking I will just stay at my parents and let DH go by himself.

     4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

    Definitely lounging

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?
When I was younger I would watch The Goonies every year on Thanksgiving! We usually play board games or poker in the evening. Not sure what we'll do since there will only be a few of us this year.

@jil1210 - You would hate going to my grandma's house, then. She makes stuff like "Fall casserole", "Golden Red casserole", and "Food-Lovers casserole". Ummm...what is in that stuff, exactly?!?
  • 1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

    Gravy and stuffing for sure.

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

Right now sulfurous veggies like broccoli.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

I love hanging out with my parents! It's just us and them this year.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

    Definitely the latter!

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

In the interest of using all the parts of the turkey, we came up with a delicious new tradition - turkey/chicken liver crostini with bacon apple jam. Yum!

  • PS we'll also be missing crazy uncle Bob, who passed away earlier this year and would spend every Thanksgiving with us. He was quite the character and always made Thanksgiving "interesting," but he also loved eating and getting together with family on Thanksgiving.
  • I'm Canadian, so my Thanksgiving was has been done and gone since Oct 11th, but thinking about the food made me want to participate...

    1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

    Glazed ham omg.

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

     Green bean casserole.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

I was looking forward to seeing everyone since we were going to announce our pregnancy that weekend.  Unfortunately the dinner was cancelled last minute so we ended up going to visit our parents separately and not even seeing the rest of our family.

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

No big shopping events here after Thanksgiving.  We adopted Black Friday a few years back, but it lines up with your black friday, not our thanksgiving.  Either way, I would still be a grazer.  I hate crowded malls.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

My aunt and uncle usually hosted Thanksgiving and Easter when I was growing up.  They always had the BEST food (ham from #1 *drools*) and I would always look forward to it.  The last year we had Thanksgiving dinner there, we were served SQUID.  It was these disgusting looking purple tentacles with the little suction cup things still on... eugh!  My uncle is Spanish and apparently the preparation and serving of squid is a big deal in the city he is from.  I am such a picky eater I ended up just eating dinner rolls and nothing else.  Heartbroken.

    1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

I honestly love almost all of it....stuffing, my mom's sweet potato snuffle (ETA: that should say souffle, not snuffle...but that's a pretty great typo =)) ), mashed potatoes, turkey, pecan pie... but I REALLY love those little boiled onions, but my SIL usually doesn't make them. About an hour ago my brother sent me a picture of them cooking!! I got so excited...I was honestly surprised he even remembered how much I like them. He said he reminded my SIL to get them. Woohoo!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

I hate canned cranberry sauce. And I'm not a huge gravy fan, either. Homemade is okay sometimes, though.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

Looking forward to seeing everyone, but feel like I'm going to get sick of baby/pregnancy talk after 5 minutes. VERY excited to see my 2 1/2 old year niece, miss her cute little face!

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

My family usually takes an after dinner walk...but otherwise lounge. My state is one of the ones that outlawed big retailers being open on Thanksgiving day, and as an ex-retail worker I honestly think that's how it should be everywhere.

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

I hated Thanksgiving as a kid, I am not totally sure why, but now it might be my favorite holiday. Regardless, it seems to be unlucky for me...I came down with chicken pox on Thanksgiving when I was 8, and last year I came down with appendicitis and had it removed on black Friday. No fun!

    1) What’s the one food you drool over just thinking about Thanksgiving dinner?

     Stuffing with gravy!

    2) What’s a holiday food item you wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole?

     Cranberry sauce, ick.

    3) Any family members you are not looking forward to seeing? Any you are?

Not looking forward to seeing: DH's grand aunt and uncle. They always have something inappropriate to say.

Looking forward to seeing: my niece and nephews. Their ages range from 14-20. They're always fun to hang out with!

    4) Do you go shopping right after, or lounge with your pants unzipped grazing on leftovers?

Lounge, all the way. I'm usually too stuffed to do much at all!

    5) Any traditions/funny stories/interesting facts you want to share?

I'm excited to put up the Christmas tree on Friday and start decorating!

  • @jil1210 - You would hate going to my grandma's house, then. She makes stuff like "Fall casserole", "Golden Red casserole", and "Food-Lovers casserole". Ummm...what is in that stuff, exactly?!?

Well I guess if you grew up eating it maybe it wouldn't be so off putting. Is it delicious? Or do you skip it?

@starbuck128 Your mother in law seriously lies about putting nuts in your food and knows you're allergic? I don't think I would risk eating anything she made! That's terrible.
