GOING HOME!! Here's to hoping my girls stay put! *UPDATE in comments*

edited November 2014 in January 2015 Moms
I've been in L&D since about 4:30. I hadn't been out of bed all day. Every time I woke up I was just in so much pain and felt so sick I just went right back to sleep. I finally thought maybe if I took a shower I would feel better. Got in the shower and then did not have the energy to even do anything but stand there. Had a pounding headache and just had to get out. Got T to check my blood pressure and it was 156/111. Called my doctor and since I hadn't felt the girls move since yesterday, was told to go straight to L&D. My doctor came to check everything out, and my blood pressure still hadn't went down after an hour of laying in the bed and I have been having contractions. She monitored them and then decided to go ahead and do the steroids and a shot to relax things and slow things down. She will be back in the morning for the next steroid shot and to see about contractions then, but I'll be staying here :( That shot has made my heart race and I feel super jittery and I don't like it at all. I'm hot, highly uncomfortable, and just really want my girls to stay put. Plus I'm here alone until T gets off work at 3am. Trying to get some rest, but just so paranoid and hoping that things turn around soon and the girls can stay in and grow some more!

  • Thinking of you. The terbutaline (if that's what they gave you to slow the contractions) can be rough.
Yes! It made me feel very jittery. The effects don't typically last long, so hopefully you feel better soon. I'm so sorry you're stuck in the hospital and I hope your little girls stay in there many weeks longer.
