Hey ladies sorry if this is already posted I have a hard time going trough all the post on my phone.
Anyways my kiddos will be 22 months apart and have to share a room. What I'm wondering is should I get two cribs? My son who will be 22 months when the new baby comes is quite the wild man so I'm leaning more towards two cribs, but wanted to get some moms ideas who've been there before.
Thanks
Re: 2 cribs for 22 months apart
I will also add that being able to get out of their own beds meant no more naps and awful night time sleep in our house, but that's a rant for another post! 8-}

IKEA cribs are so inexpensive, I would get another crib.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
That being said, my oldest climbed out of her crib at 11 months old. She was on a mattress on the floor until old enough to climb in and out of toddler bed. She moved to a queen at 3 years old. (We forgot to buy full bed rails for convertible crib... Which are no longer made by manufacturer.)
My son was climbing out of crib at 15 months. He is such a wild sleeper that he'd knock himself awake on the rails of his converted toddler bed, so at 2 years ish we moved him to a full size (learned our lesson and bought full rails at time of crib purchase).
Each kid is different. Our twin nephews were in cribs until 3 and went straight to full beds from crib.
Edit: forgot to mention our kids are 15 months apart...
My SIL did that with her niece. One day she wanted to sleep in the big bed, slept well and that was it.
But I hadn't thought of the issues with naps and getting out of bed at night! DD is a restless sleeper. Yikes! :-/

If you have flat door knobs, I have friends who flipped the door knob so lock was on outside and literally locked their kids in at night.
Best toddler investment ever. We still have one on outside doors and basement door and kids are 2&3.5
All of our kids are 18 months apart, so we follow the same bed arrangements with each. We have a rock and play, a small mini/portable crib, and a full sized convertable crib.
0-5 months rock and play
6-12 months mini crib
12-24 months convertable crib
24-36 months conv crib turned toddler bed.
36 months- conv crib is handed down to next sibling on their 1st birthday. Older sibling goes to IKEA and picks out their own big kid bed and bedding.
Right now the kids don't share but someone will have to bunk up with baby two. Part of me really wants to toss all of them in the huge bedroom together and convert the smaller bedroom into a playroom. I have yet to figure it out completely though.
