What do all the F15 Momma's think?

Most Hated Baby Names

Girls:

  1. Nevaeh ("Heaven" spelled backward and one of the most divisive names around, according to Wattenberg.)
  2. Destiny (People dislike names that confer a virtue onto a child, Wattenberg said — and many felt associated this name with exotic dancers.)
  3. Madison
  4. Mackenzie
  5. McKenna
  6. Addison (An example of a masculine named turned feminine, which many people dislike, Wattenberg said)
  7. Gertrude (People said this name is "ugly.")
  8. Kaitlyn (For its "made-up" spelling.)
  9. Makayla
  10. Bertha
  11. Hope

Boys:

  1. Jayden
  2. Brayden
  3. Aiden
  4. Kaden (These rhyming names struck many as overdone, Wattenberg reported.)
  5. Hunter (Too much like a last name or "too violent.")
  6. Hayden
  7. Bentley (People dislike brand-name names, Wattenberg found, calling them "trashy")
  8. Tristan
  9. Michael (Too boring, according to some.)
  10. Jackson

    Some of those names on are my list. Whoops I guess. I actually like a good portion of those names and most of the commentary on why is just stupid.

    Some of these make sense but this had to regionally based. I'm laughing my ass of at Hunter being too violent. I used to work with a guy who had a son named Gunner, as in the guy who uses the gun in the mrap.

    I love Madison and have several friends who have used it. It's a good name. I feel like the participants just listed makes of the top of their head.

    Very happy naveah is first on the list. I can't stand that name.

    I love Madison though, and I also like Tristan. I can't stand Brayden/Jayden/Hayden like another poster said because it is so overdone.

    To each their own.

    I don't care about names for the most part; I think trendiness turns into backlash, which is what I see in that list. But are these really tops for 2014? The article you link to is from 2011 (and the original post is also from that year).

    That said, I protest Michael. Michael has been and always will be an awesome name, carried by awesome people (like my little brother).

    Everyone has an opinion to baby names. Guaranteed that someone is going to hate it & someone is going to love it. Unless it's Nevaeh, which is just f#%king stupid, no matter where you are from. My DD has a unique name, but it sure as shit isn't made up or something spelled backwards. DS is gonna have a unique name too.

    If you must, hate the name, but love the kid.

    1st RE Visit: January 2014
    Cycling: 
    March 2014- 75iu follistim + trigger + progesterone + IUI = BFN and OHSS
    (8 million post wash 47% motility, 18mm/17mm/16mm/16mm/14mm follies)
    April/May 2014- Benched due to cysts/enlarged ovaries
    June 2014- 50iu follistim + trigger + progesterone + IUI = BFP!!
    (10 million post wash 60% motility, 20mm/19mm follies)
    Beta 1- 85 Beta 2- 2,752 - EDD 2/27/2015

    They nailed most of them for me. But people are dumb in general so I wouldn't put much stock in the list.

    and on the note of Madison, I like the name, think it is pretty, but since it is SOOOOO overdone in my area (usually from people who went to JMU) I can see how it would make a list of "overdone" names (not neccesarily bad names)

    but in a different area they probably do not have that problem.

    I'm actually really saddened by this list. I have a niece Madison and nephews Hunter and Brayden. And to top it off, Jackson, our name, is #10 on the list.

    I agree with all the girls names and most of the boys. There are several I wouldn't care if other people picked I just wouldn't. But some are awful

    When I taught 1st grade I had:
    Aden
    aydin
    Braydon
    Jayden
    2 Ella's
    2 Isabelle/Isobel's
    2 Amelia's

    I could never so the den/din/don names .. The girls names I truthfully loved but they were off my list because having multiple in one class worried me for popularity.

    And I'm sorry.. I would never side-eye a Michael

    I like the names Michael and Gertrude. Who cares if they are boring? They ate strong names. Boring is a way better criticism than too unique!!!

    The girl names are not ones I see often - although one of my nieces is Makayla. I've never heard anyone say they "hate" that name.

    The boys list is amusing to me because I feel like 90% of the little boys in my area have those names, aside from Bentley. Caden is usually Caiden here. Three of my nephews are Jayden (spelled Jaden), Tristan and Michael.

    Ouch our top 2 girl names made the list lol. Oh well as long as we like them I guess it doesn't really matter. At least our boy name isn't on this - Probably helps that it's an Italian name.

    My sons name is Jaxon. But for jax from general hospital. I had the biggest crush on him growing up. Similar to the one I have for jax teller. Lol
