I buckled down and searched for the teepee I wanted for the boys, that is now unavailable from Amazon. It ended up being on Steals and I got it for only $10 more than when I had originally found it. I'm sucking that up as a win. It is so perfect and I'm glad I didn't go with a different one!
And I bought these racing horses for the boys. I got both for $26!! Big win.
Big gifts are done!
OMG, I love both of these. Where did you find the horses?
I'm envious of those of you who don't sweat. I wore a tank top and thin pj pants to bed last night and woke up drenched in sweat.
I was thinking same thing. I am definitely a sweater. :-S
I win all swamp crotch competitions. I change my underwear and pants when I get home, and again before bedtime. None of you can beat me in this competition, I promise.
In obscure no longer a celebrity news, did anyone else hear that Tila Tequila had a baby last week? First of all, I thought I heard she was a lesbian, and I thought she died a few years ago.
I was all like "Huh? What?!" when I heard that on the radio today.
This last weekend was pretty awesome...we got our new mattresses delivered (verdict still out on those), I saw Mockingjay and went out for drinks with my friends Friday night, had several (fun) kid birthday parties to go to Saturday and Sunday, and took Lila out for fancy "special girl-time" brunch on Sunday morning. I'm absolutely loving her little 5-year-old personality!
We did Great Wolf Lodge! Loved it! Skip this whole thing if you don't want my review.
1. This time of year and going Thurs & Fri were perfect. There was nobody there. Two nights were definitely enough; anything more would have been too long. Thanks to the ladies that suggested that! 2. Don't do a paw pass, we didn't buy any of the shiz that comes with that thing. Water park passes are included with the room. 3. Winnie loved the water park. Be prepared for extra long naps and time in the room, because she got so exhausted. I recommend a room that lets LO have her own area to nap (we did the den). 4. We took her on some big tube slides because they leave it up to you whether you think they can do it or not. I felt that W and I were both safe on the two slides we did. If anything was a hazard for me, perhaps all the stairs to get up there. 5. Putput was fun and she liked the arcade. We spent $40 for an afternoon of these things. 6. The whole trip is expensive, but we knew that and didn't feel ripped off. I can't even imagine the maintenance of that water park and all of the other stuff. I thought it was a bargain Everyone there is awesomely nice! 7. The beds were fucking rocks. Seriously, worst bed ever. That's really the only bad thing I have to say. 8. The restaurant was great. If you're on a budget, there's a microwave and mini fridge in the room or you could bring a cooler.
I'm glad y'all had fun @tinyhumantoe! My alma mater does an alumni weekend at the one in KC and we had plans of going this year, because Luci is the perfect age to really start enjoying it. Obviously we aren't going, but it is good to know that she will enjoy it when we do.
By the way, W looks like such a big girl these days! I feel like Luci still has a baby face, but so many of the S12 kiddos are looking like little kids now. I LOVE IT!
On the note of obnoxious parents, holy mackerel there are some obnoxious parents.
I got hit in the back of the head with a Cheeseburger by a kid in the booth behind me, this was after he had been destroying the restaurant for 20 minutes so it wasn't really an 'oops I can't believe he did that.' The parents didn't say anything, and it wasn't until he threw his toy onto our table 10 min later and they had to ask for it back that they said, oh sorry about the cheeseburger.
There was a really obnoxious family that cut us in line and her 2.5yr old girl chased W around aggressively to the point of W becoming hysterical. There were 20 things they did that were insanely obnoxious, I'll spare you.
I was kind of in shock of the parents. That's why I'm SO glad we went went it was dead. These parents would have ruined the trip for us.

@willy_gert, I always feel like DD has such a baby face compared to other LOs on here too!

Whut?! How would the parents NOT apologize for that right away? I'd be mortified!
So my BFF is making me very sad and I'm getting uber defensive with her. I have been struggling majorly with depression and anxiety again, and it has gotten way worse with DH's stuff. My BFF basically yelled at me today because I haven't gone to see the doctor to ask for meds agian. I told her that I don't have time, because I pick up and drop off Luci everyday at daycare and I still trying to get all of my hours in each week. She was lecturing me about taking time for me and everything else, but seriously, I am so turned off and upset right now. I know that I need to go get meds or talk to someone but seriously, I don't have time, I am trying to do everything for a household of three. I don't know why she can't understand that. I'm way more upset about this than I should be.

I think 3-5 would be a much better age for GWL, and I would say this would be the minimum age they could really enjoy it. Plus at 3-5 they will be more likely to remember it! The one in Mason OH is right across the street from Kings Island. I am trying to figure out if I could invite a set of grandparents along next year so I can go ride coasters
I feel like all of our kids look so old And I'm guessing mine is not the only one that is full of opinions and attitude these days. @-)
@willy_gert I'm sorry I feel like I don't have time and I have a tenth of the things you do on my plate. Do you feel like you haven't made an appointment 100% because of time, or do you think a small part of you is struggling to make the appointment for other reasons? I ask because back when I was struggling, it seemed like it was a time issue for me (seriously, it was), but there was also an underlying procrastination/depression thing hold me back.
I've been sitting on a good size gift card to GWL for a year but I'm waiting until the kids get a little older. We are planning to do the poor mans GWL (Buccaneer Bay) on the way back from Chicago. The kids will still love it.
Just had a walk in student throw a fit in the lobby so I agreed to see her. Her kid shit his pants in my office and now my entire office smells like said shitty pants. She also must've said "no no Pata" around 198 f-ing times and never moved, so they kid opened all my drawers, took stuff out, knocked over my waterbottle and pulled out all of the things plugged into my power strip, including my computer, phone and monitor.
If your kid doesn't have any fear of you, or know how to behave in public at almost 4, I judge you as a parent & think your kid is a total asshole.
This is random, but if I bought dark gray couches, what color should I paint the living room? I say a light gray and DH says that's too much gray and we'll end up with a whole gray house instead of the all brown one we have now. I say that that's okay, because I can do more with gray.

I know it's so hard to not be upset - but it does sound like she's just giving you some tough love. She cares about you and just wants to make sure you're taking care of yourself.
Can you take an extra long lunch to get into see the doctor? I know it's so hard to find the time and balance everything.
Light gray would look nice, but I would do something to add more color. I would do a green-gray or a blue-grey. We did a color in our basement that looked grey on the chip, but it was in the blue/green family so it has more dimension than true grey. @27boo
G is working on some virus. 103.4 yesterday that went down to 101.2 with motrin and tylenol. Same today. No other symptoms. She had loose stool this past week but no fever until yesterday. The nurse line said I could bring her in today or wait it out another 24 hours. I said I'd wait since she's generally in good spirits except a little lethargic. Now I'm concerned because tomorrow is my 20w appt and u/s and Wednesday I work and we are getting a storm. So I have limited opportunity to take her. Hopefully the fever breaks soon.
My sister is going to take G this weekend! Yay! I am going to ikea. By myself. The closest one is 2 hours away but that's ok. I really have nothing in mind to get unless people tell me what I need to get from there. I'd like a high chair for baby number 2. Not sure what else.

I would do light grey. Our previous house was tan with tan couch as that was what was in style then. Grey with Grey is fine. Just don't do grey curtains You can pretty much do anything with grey for curtains, pillows, rugs, blankets. It doesn't have to look like a cell.
ETA: I know this is a bit of an UO but I love white walls. Most my house is white. It feels so fresh and bright.

We've been to a few different waterparks with the kids over the years. I've found at this age, it doesn't matter how fancy the waterpark is, if there are waterslides, usually everyone is happy.
We went to a cheaper waterpark hotel a few hours away and their favorite part was the splash pad outside. It was simpler than the splash pad around here. Go figure.

Am I the only one who would do something bright like yellow with gray couches?! I love yellow and grey together. My living room is yellow & our couches are green. It looks nice together, but I L O V E yellow & grey together.
Next time I paint a room or our house, it is all going to be neutral. Probably grey, white or light beige. We have a lot of beige now and I like it, especially since we have wood trim, but someday I am going to get up the nerve to paint it all....
I really liked @hmp1's pics of her kitchen. I so want to do something like that to modernize our kitchen, but all of our trim is the same color as the cabinets so I don't think I can.
I just went grocery shopping on lunch for Thanksgiving. I get up to the checkout and realize my entire basket is like diabetes waiting to happen. Real butter, chocolate, whipped cream, breakfast pastry etc. Then I decided to buy a couple of magazine for the flight. Umm, when did People become $5.99? I know it's not worth that!
@willy_gert I'm sorry your upset about your BFF. I personally think she's giving you some tough love that she sees you need it. Maybe you could ask her to take Luci for you one day so you can schedule an appt after work? I'm sure she'd be willing.
I agree on the light gray @27boo but I'd put some color in the room as well. I love navy with gray.

Ha! I was going to say the same thing! When we moved into our house, our living room literally had a different color on each wall, and we painted it (along with several other rooms) a nice white and we love the minimalist/clean look of it. And we have charcoal grey couches!
I ran to the grocery store this morning and strawberries (non-organic. just plain old pesticide ridden strawberries) were $7.99! W T F is that all about?

Our great room, entry way, and hallway are all a butter yellow. It looks fantastic in there when the sun hits it and brightens up the room when it is gloomy out.
Our whole house was white when we bought it. The problem with white is that it gets dingy quicker than a color. We painted all the ceilings in the house too. When we put the first roller of white on top of the old, the results were crazy.
Random fact, DH ran a painting business in college and I worked for him. He sold, and I managed the sites and trimmed everything. I have a ridiculously steady hand when it comes to paint. Also, we had 1 room in our entire house painted by contractors and it is the first room I am redoing.

The skirt deal was on my IG this morning and I almost tagged Dana. But then I thought if I tagged her in every piece of girl clothing for sale that I loved, she would unfriend me, or her husband would make her unfriend me

Hahaha too funny! I just loved them both so much! Super cute! And the gold with navy, swoon!

I don't like colors on walls. Neutrals or greys. I don't think I could every bring myself to paint a main room a color. Maybe a kids bedroom.
