I almost started one and it's 3:30 here too. Then I realized that I wouldn't end up participating in it enough to warrant starting it. I miss being active on here, but I just haven't found that balance. Also, why the fuck am I even up at 3:30?
We made a nursery for DD#1 and then moved when she was 10 months old...she never slept in it. We've never made a nursery since.
We're going to be moving in January and will be making two sets of bunk beds for the kids but only DD#1 will get top bunk and then when DS is ready to move we'll put DD#2 on the other top bunk so both the little kids are on the bottom. I'm not excited to move but know that it's best for our family. The last time we moved we had one kid... Now we have four :-L

Absolutely in love with our 'big' family!
I'm also a proud Auntie to a crazy little girl, her brand new baby sister, a little man on his way in the next month, and a sweet little mister we will miss forever!!!
Teddy's crib has become storage for outgrown clothes. If he ever decides to sleep there, he will be sharing the room with his two older brothers. No judging on no nursery. We could move the big kids downstairs, but right now I like us all on the same floor.
Night two in the crib. Success. Slept for 6.5 hours before needing fed, then slept 3 more. After that feeding she had to grunt a bunch and poop while staring into my soul, you know, as one does.
I gave her gripe water because she seemed really upset. But now she's sleeping again. I am not. Gonna try.
Rage. This baby will not go back to sleep. Weve been up since 430, he has drank 4.5oz and is just wide awake. Only an hour from now until I have to get up with the toddler. Why u no sleep, ahole baby?!
Whyyyyy must I breed children that don't like sleeping at night? V will go maybe 3 hours between nursing in the RNP at night, maybe 4 if she's in with me.
DS is getting a cold. I guess that's what happens when you start at a new daycare, new germs.
It's only 9:30 and we're already halfway through Brave.
So I think it was @theotherjacobsons but it could have been someone else who posted a video forever ago about getting more when pumping/pumping better. Can someone share that again? I searched for it but cannot find it.
I'm going to start off by saying how jealous i am of everyone's babies that are sleeping in good stretches at night. Sooo tired! When is this child going to sleep longer than 1.5 or 2 hours at night!! I'm only getting about 4 hours and I don't nap during the day, I'm going to go insane from lack of sleep! Also what is this they talk of "lay your baby down when they are groggy so they learn to fall asleep on their own" business? If ds isn't asleep when I lay him down he auto screams bloody murder. Grr Thanks ladies for listening to me bitch

With DS it was a looooooooong time, and not until we did some gentle sleep training around 9 months.
Even in the supposedly magical RnP DD only sleeps for a few hours in a rom.

He sleeps on his RnP every night. I wish mine was magical like it is for others.
I am very excited that my sister and BIL will be joining us for Thanksgiving. Not so excited that I will have to entertain them for four days on the weekend before I go back to work.
I feel like a lot of us are returning to work December 1st.
Going grocery shopping this morning. I am hosting Thanksgiving this year and I have been asking myself why I decided to do this with a young infant. It's going to be hard. On the plus side, we don't have to go anywhere and can stay and do what we need (like naps) in the comfort of our own home.

Did not go back to sleep. I feel as though I can't complain though.
For those asking how to put a kid down and they will fall asleep in their own, we swaddle, turn on this Hello kitty light thing that she stares at on the ceiling or this fish Einstein thing on the side of her crib, do rain white noise, and lay this vibrating elephant thing on her legs. And stick that binky in there.
I also stopped turning on the lights at night.
So that's what we do. But I Do think we have a unicorn. Plus we are ff, so you get longer stretches that way. It's a perk to ease my guilt about shitty boobs. That and all the wine.

@aander6 yep, it was me. It's in the Breastfeeding Links & Talk thread. Here you go.
Monday confession: DD projectile pooped on me and our comforter after her MOTN feeding. I cleaned myself up, wiped the comforter with baby wipes, folded it where the poop fell and went back to sleep. I wasn't about to wake up DH nor go find new bedding right then.

Why does my child try to suffocate himself in my boob every time he falls asleep? He turns his head and buries his nose in my cleavage every single time.

DS1 has been asking to watch dinosaurs every day for the last four weeks or so. I tried Dino Train, Walking with Dinosaurs, and all other manner of kid or educational dinosaur shows, but no dice. We have Jurrasic Park on over here. Every day this week.
I'm cooking TG dinner too. It's going to be small. Just me, DH, FIL, DH's cousin and his GF. I wish this business with DH's mom wasn't happening now. It makes the holidays even shittier. MIL and SIL are duking it out over text message. MIL is blaming SIL for ruining her reputation. She us doubling down on her denial and instead of moving forward with the family she is going further in and has disowned SIL. Merry Christmas everyone!
SIL had told us that MIL was planning to go to the 49ers game instead of TG before all the cocaine shenanigans, so we invited her out of courtesy. She is now using SIL busting her as an excuse for not participating in the holidays because she is too hurt and embarrassed. DH is trying to come up with a fun way to call her out.
I'm in a super foul mood & doing the most wicked ugly cry ever! I just got a call from the pedi office that Drew has a dairy intolerance! ( A "very obvious positive result" from his test! I EBF I'm freaking the fuck out! All of my favorite foods & just before the holidays! FML!!!

That's awesome. Your DS is awesome. My little brother is 22 and I can't convince him to watch Jurrasic Park.

We're leaving for New Jersey on Wednesday morning. My parents, my two brothers, my grandparents, my aunt and two of her kids, plus DS and me. We're taking a motor home. It's ridiculous how much I'm looking forward to this.
Also, it took 8 weeks, but I think I'm finally able to really enjoy this newborn thing. I keep reminding myself that this is probably my only kid, so I should try and enjoy holding him all day long since it won't last long or happen again.

DS feel asleep eating and I woke him up trying to burp him. He screamed a scream I'd never heard before. Wth? But I can't just not burp him, because then we get gas pain screams. I can't win.
Forgive me for being somewhat of a downer, but I'm feeling sad lately. Because DD doesn't look at me and smile the way she does other people. DH and my mom for example. When I'm holding her on the couch she's either crying to be fed, eating, or sleeping. I try so hard to interact and I feel like she doesn't want to. She will stare at the light or away from me instead. Its breaking my heart. I'm with her all day every day. What am I doing wrong? Its killing me. :-<
@ANGnJON Sorry about the milk intolerance. Did they let you know how bad they think it is or are you going to have to keep a food diary to see what you LO reacts to (ie, how much dairy you can eat without reaction)?
This has been one if my fears as I suffered from a milk allergy until I was 4 years old. It was so bad that my mom breastfed me until I was two as she had trouble finding non cows milk in the 70s (she found that avoiding most dairy in her diet was easier). As it appears that I have given birth to a near clone of me, I keep a close eye out for symptoms of it.

@MrsSinner402 I have to work so hard to get DS to smile at me. He smiles at my mom all the time but I have to baby talk him for 10 minutes to get him to even half smile. It hurts my feelings too.

@ANGnJON - do you have to restrict all dairy (like those found in baked goods) or just the obvious, like cheese and milk? I have a friend who is allergic to casein, so I have a lot of vegan cookie recipes stashed away. Coconut and almond milk are your friends. Let me know if you want a few recipes or tricks.
So, I think we're in between diaper sizes. NB are too damn tight around her legs and 1s aren't small enough around her legs. We use Swaddlers, but have a huge box of Hugggies to try too. But based on what y'all have said previously, those aren't any better.
They want me dairy free completely! No bread, milk, cheese, butter all of the things I love! I'm suppose to look at EVERY label. Fortunately I don't drink cows milk, only almond so at least there's that! Any recipes you could pass along would be awesome! I would be forever grateful! It sucks my mom, grandma, sister & I are baking Christmas cookies this weekend! All my favorites & I can't eat a stinkin one! Perhaps we could add a new recipe to the mix this year!

My kid still doesn't have a crib and I still have not decorated the nursery.
However, I did manage to reorder it. BRU estimates delivery on the 26th. I'll believe it when I see it.

At first I thought it was just a fluke. But now it keeps happening... Oh well no big deal, it was bound to happen at some point I guess.
