We had a busy/fun weekend. DH has made some headway on the trash-picked dresser-turned dress-up cabinet! The inside is almost ready for paint, and he picked up two colors of chalk paint yesterday!
DS and I went to a pottery painting place yesterday. It was so nice to have some 1-on-1 time just with him. Then we had dinner at FIL/step-MIL's house last night. I just want to fast forward to Wednesday evening.
DH worked midnights all weekend so it was B and I. He was pretty well behaved so that made it better. We mostly shopped. I needed several things for our vacation so he got to come along.
I work 3 days this week then I'm off for 11. We leave for Mexico Sunday and it still hasn't hit me we're actually going. It's been 5 years in the making. I can't freaking wait! I kind of feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning!
Last night I was getting B ready for bed and his behavior was less than stellar. I threatened the whole Santa thing which A. I have no real reason why pretty sure I was desperate, B. I didn't think he really knew what the whole Santa experience was. He looks at me stone faced and says, "I want presents mama. I be nice to the baby (his cousin)." We've been working on being nice and sharing especially with babies. He immediately feels they are a threat and freaks out. We saw my niece yesterday which is where I'm assuming the whole "be nice to baby thing" came from. I couldn't help but laugh.
Dh watched tv all weekend. It drove me nuts. I know we don't have tons of money to spend doing stuff, but come on man. He also had a man cold. Grr. I'm full of complaints about him, so I will stop. Probably thanks to PMS.
Oh yeah, hello cycle 9.
I've got one thing I need to go to the store for. Yay. I'm sure it'll be nuts. I'm excited for all of my baking this week. Caramel apple pie, two pumpkin pies, and four mini stores pies for the kids. I love Thanksgiving. Eee!
I have a ton of homework to do, so I need to quit slacking. Small aw, I got 100% on my algebra test the other day. I haven't been doing well on my tests, so I'm am super pleased that all of my studying paid off.
I found tile stickers for backslashes. Um yeah, dh is going to hate me. I now want to paint the cabinets, countertop, and sticker the tiles.
I LOVE any week where my H only works 5 days instead of 6. It's so nice to have him home an extra day. Yay!
Quinn has been taking swimming lessons and I'm so proud of her. She was so clingy in the beginning and now she is so confident in the water. We went to open swim and she was loving being independent in the water while wearing her puddle jumper. Thank goodness!
I'm stumped as to what to get Quinn for Christmas. She doesn't NEED anything. We won't be spending much this year, I don't think. I want to get her a power wheels but it's pointless when they can't go in the snow. Maybe we will save the big gift for an Easter present!
Also, anyone have middle name ideas for Palmer? That's our leading name right now. I want something a little more feminine since Palmer can be a unisex name.
My whole weekend was him complaining about his balls. :-)
Really though, it wasn't that bad. I don't think he should have gone back to work today, but he did, so if he swells up to the size of grapefruits, I'm just going to say "I told you so."
I know that Cal's only 3mo old, but seriously. His sleep regression is making me feel like I'm a crazy person. He was sleeping until 6 up until I went back to work. Then it was 4. Now the last 5 f-ing nights in a row it's 2am. The kid is a chunk. He can't possibly be hungry. I know if someone was complaining to me I would tell them "Babies will STTN when they want to" but FFS. I hate this. I know I shouldn't compare them either, but Nancy was sleeping 12hrs by 8wks old & she was 2lbs lighter than him! I just feel sad about the whole thing.
We all ended up with colds on Sunday, so between feeling crummy and two kids worth of snot I could not deal with DH's fantasy football freak outs. We head to WI tomorrow, I can't decide if I'm excited or not I think most of it will depend on if we are all feeling better by then. I'm terrified that someone is going to get worse and we will have to skip the trip like last year.

Congrats! I don't think I could solve for x if my life depended on it.

We did our Thanksgiving shopping Saturday and played outside yesterday, since it was borderline warm. I'm in a total panic about getting all of the Christmas shopping done. I'm trying to emphasize to DH that if we are going to spread things put over multiple pay checks, we have to start now because there isn't that much time left. He doesn't listen. Whatever.
AW: I got the job I have been interviewing for! She finally called me Friday afternoon! They even offered me a little more money, which is awesome because I've only been at the company three months. Now I have to wait for the bosses to work out a transition timeline for me to get out of this position and into the new one. I'm so excited!

This weekend was all right I guess. I didn't do much Saturday because I was exhausted. Then yesterday FIL and MIL were supposed to come over, but that didn't happen because MIL set the stove on fire. Y'all I am scared for them, MIL has Alzheimer's and it is progressing at a terrifying rate and FIL is not wanting to get the appropriate help. I am hoping the fire yesterday scared the bejeesus out of him and that he will try to get some help. She cannot be home for 10+ hours a day by herself.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.... I'm tired and hopeful that Thanksgiving will be fun, but I'm crazy worried about money and DH and everything. Do any of you know anything about disability benefits?

Where in WI do you go again? Up north somewhere right?
Good luck driving with the fricking snow. Hopefully it'll be done by the time you're coming through.
@willygert If you go onto your county website, it should have information about disability benefits. Here it can take a long time for them to get set up, so I would start applying now. Or are you trying to go through your DH's job?
Our weekend was pretty good. We went out to dinner and to the mall on Friday night. Saturday morning we had family pictures. We include our crazy dog, so hopefully we still got some good ones. The rest of Saturday was spent relaxing. Yesterday, we went to Target in the morning and then I went to dinner at my mom's with Lily.
I only have to work 2 days this week and I'm really excited about it!

Also, I didn't take the job I had interviewed for. We weren't even reading the same book when it came to compensation. :-(
Looks like I'm trapped in the Winter Wonderland for another semester. Boo.
I've been MIA lately - were you interviewing around here? Or looking to move?
Sorry it didn't work out. That happened to DH once and they knew what he currently made, and then offered him a ton less. It was such a waste of his time.
Only a 2 day week for me in the office! Since I'm in the retail industry, I won't be completely disconnected over the 5 day weekend, but it will be nice not to be here.
We have an insanely busy weekend coming up - I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time. We have a ton of fun stuff with both family and friends, but I know both the kids and myself will be exhausted by Sunday night.
Have we talked Thanksgiving yet? Who is hosting? We're attempting to host 15 people in our apartment (I can't wait until our house is built!!). I spent all weekend rearranging the rooms so that we can maximize the space we have. Aedan's bedroom is now the playroom / bedroom. Since he's in a crib that's not a problem, but when Brody was playing in there this morning, Aedan got upset that Brody was in his room. He'll have to get over that quickly.

@kelbel527 I was...it was for a spa in Mukwonago..managing their front desk team. Don't you need an assistant? :-) I'll come work for you part time! You're way closer than my current job!

@marisakathleen - Ha! I wish I had an assistant. I actually do think there might be an opening here though for executive admin - not sure which department... I'll send you a PM.

I think our Elf on the Shelf will be in charge of the advent calendar this year. I ordered christmas rubber duckies for Sean (Ethan got a Lego advent calendar)? Maybe Walter will bring a duck back from the North Pole each night.
We ordered a new couch and sold the old one! So excited!
I also found the missing Home Depot gift card and am trying to convince DH that between the two of us, we could paint our living room Wed night and Thurs or Fri after bedtime. I mean, it's not a huge room.
I buckled down and searched for the teepee I wanted for the boys, that is now unavailable from Amazon. It ended up being on Steals and I got it for only $10 more than when I had originally found it. I'm sucking that up as a win. It is so perfect and I'm glad I didn't go with a different one!
And I bought these racing horses for the boys. I got both for $26!! Big win.

Aria was my first thought. Or Wren but that might be too close to Quinn to even consider for a mn.
ETA: adding a couple more.
Emmeline, Francesca, Vivien/Vivian/Vivienne (I like 1 or 3 syllables best with Palmer).

Not too far from me either! My mom was born in Kenosha!
I have a 2 day week here. I am hosting for the first time and am so excited! I need to rinse my china and make one stop at Costco and should be good to go! Wednesday will be a big prep day with me, my dad, and DS which will be so sweet.

Big gifts are done!
Where are the horses from?
They are $45 on Amazon but I bought them from this Ebay store.

And are the ones at H&M good ones? Should I look elsewhere?
Not too far from me either! My mom was born in Kenosha!
I love fleece lined leggings but I don't tend to sweat much in general. I haven't tried H&M ones.
This latest one brought to you by the 2 month old baby Daisy pushed out on Bones.
I have some from the gap two years ago, I love them, but I don't sweat unless I'm sick.
