Monday Randoms

Welcome to another week!

I'm just oh so tired!

I definitely have a clogged milk duct in my left breast and it's so sore  :((
I'm also afraid something else is going on bc my nipples both burn so bad. I tried to brush it off as something normal due to pumping, but this doesn't feel normal. Ugh. My first PP OB appt isn't until Friday but I may have to call today to see if I can be seen sooner.

Happy Monday ladies!

  • @bethas - I hope you feel better really soon :( I put hot water in a big bowl and got on all fours and just let my boobs soak in it. It felt so good. As soon as I pulled them back out they did burn again though. Oye! Keep us posted what your doctor says.

@Ashris13 - Yes, I was concerned about that too while in the hospital, but LO literally would not latch on unless I used them and I was getting desperate. Eventually he wouldn't even latch on with them, but I think that may have been my fault because my nipples were so torn up that I was probably tense and he could sense it. You can try to wean off of using them as time goes by, but I think as long as you're diligent about emptying your breasts AFTER each use, you should be fine.

  • @heisenberg‌ I'm still pregnant too. Not for long, I'm being induced late tonight. My doctor said I should brace myself for a long and rough induction that has a 50% chance of resulting in a section. She also said the recovery will likely be difficult an discussed the risks to the baby. So, I'm nervous as hell and dreading it but I will be 42 weeks tomorrow so the doctors think the risks of delivery are less than the risks of keeping him in. I didn't tell my mom and family everything the doctor said because I didn't want to scare her and make her worry when there is nothing anyone can do.

I've had a very easy and healthy pregnancy and I almost feel like this is my punishment. I keep thinking of someone I know whose baby died under a very similar situation to what is a probable outcome for me- failed labor, fetal distress and emergency section. I just want my baby to be healthy and honestly for myself to survive the ordeal without any serious complications. It's hard for my head not to go to dark places right now.

@hiketheworld Try not to worry about the worst case scenarios. (Easier said than done, I know)  If it makes you feel any better I was not favorable for an induction (1 cm dilated and 20% effaced) and my induction did not end in a c-section.  Ladies get induced alllllll the time and sure there is a chance that something could go wrong but something could go wrong in "natural" labour too.  Think positive!

That is very encouraging! Thank you!
