Hey ladies, 38 weeks now with baby #3. Just wondering if masturbation would help the same as sex to get contractions/labor going.....anyone tried it? Thoughts?

Actually, according to doctors - yes. When I was put on bedrest I was ordered no sex or orgasms for that exact reason as I had already gone into pre-term labor. But I wouldn't be trying - the baby will come when it's time.

I had my first child 6weeks early. I hadn't had sex in about 20weeks. You will go into labor when you go into labor.

Won't start labor, but I'd encourage you to have all of the orgasms you can fit in before things get messy in the lady parts area post-baby. Have all of the orgasms. Enjoy!

My doctor told me that its something in the males semen that can bring on labor. Apparently its the same as what they give you to induce you. Im not really sure but thats wat I was told.. hope that helps

According to my doctors the hormones released when you orgasm can cause the contractions to start - it has nothing to do with whether I had already had a bout of preterm labor or not. The point was not to have an orgasm to release the hormones at risk of kicking up contractions again. Trust me I asked.
