My mom threw a shower for me yesterday! It was great to see family and friends I hadn't seen in a while and we got so many goodies!
My mom even found the outfit I came home from the hospital in and my old blanket. It's a pretty ugly outfit (looks like a terricloth track suit), bit I might need to have my LO wear it too. Haven't decided.
Good morning everyone. Day 2 of birthing/Lamaze today. I was anxious and stressed after class yesterday. Hoping today calms me a bit. I found out that the hospital charges an extra $900/night for a private room after birth. Looks like I'll have a roomie. I'm hoping she's not a huge bitch. Also that means DH can't stay with me overnight which sucks, but we decided that's not worth 900 or 1800 bucks.
A bit of hot chocolate in my coffee and some blueberry pie w/ cool whip has brightened my morning considerably! Now, off to work some at home, wash a load of laundry in the fucking tub and go into my retail job, then off to the market. I wish I had time to be bored!
Oh, and I sneezed and my water broke. Or did I just pee? Should I smell it or go to the hospital? Eh, I'll wait until I get everything done first.
Post and run. After a long day of family pictures at my moms yesterday, I crashed as soon as we got home. That means I've been wide awake since 7:00. I guess it's time to start some laundry and enjoy a little me time before church. Hopefully I get to see some proofs today of our cozy campfire photos
i have no idea what I am doing awake except that I think I'm hungry. DH is still sleeping though.
No huge plans for today - just going to put some stuff away and watch the Pats. Spent all day out of the house yesterday and I'm more than a little sore today.
Such a good day yesterday we are basically all ready for this little man! We aren't doing a nursery right away because our guest room is on a different floor. So we are putting him in our office.
This morning T got home from work around 3, and I just HAD to have cookies so we made a trip and got some cookie dough. While the cookies were in the oven, I was laying on the couch and he was rubbing lotion on my stomach when all of a sudden Grayson managed to move herself right up on top of Hadley and both of them were right in the middle of my belly. With no baby on either side, both sides kinda deflated and we saw a perfect outline of little Grayson and I could feel Hadley's legs right under her! It was super weird and actually freaked me out a little, to be honest.
I am happy it is a new week. My oldest got kicked out of preschool last week because he doesn't talk. Apparently the teacher thinks the environment isn't right for him. Sigh.
I bought some vanilla beans and am going to make vanilla extract.
I am also going to try to finish Christmas shopping today. I need a couple more things for my little guys.
Good morning and happy Sunday, y'all! Quick question! Don't want to start a new thread for this but stain removal sprays for clothes...which do you use for your baby's clothes, if any?
Truthfully? I didn't bother. But I am a big believer in second hand clothes for my kiddos.
Oh, I take it back. I used Shout wipes a couple times on special occasion clothes because that is what I use on mine.

Oh that is so sad about your son! Is this a problem at home too? Or is he just shy? Can you look Into other preschools-some public schools have preK programs or private ones that may be smaller through a church? I know that preschool isn't required (and neither is kindergarten in most states which blows my mind), but there is a lot to be said about social skills and learning through play that preschools excel in.
We are heading to a baptism in the suburbs today; there is a luncheon that follows making it a very long day for us. Hoping the boys nap in the car. I have 30 essays to grade that I've been putting off, so at least I'll have some forced grading time.
My one SIL wants desperately for the three of us all to hang out(she just turned 40 and is being very reflective about her life and family being so important), which would be fun. She emailed this past week about getting together to shop yesterday or go do something today and then shop. Because of the baptism, I can't go today, and my other SIL couldn't go yesterday. So instead of rescheduling so that all 3 of can go and spend time together, the two of them are going somewhere this afternoon and they said if they are still out, then I can come meet up when I get back too. WTF? We've never done this, and there are only 3 of us. Wouldn't it make sense to plan it on another weekend when all can go?
@amandad715 and @shannjohnston Thanks, it is sad. He is very shy in groups, and he is in speech therapy as he does have a speech delay.
The teachers only suggestion was that I have him evaluated for autism. Which I assure you we have had done several times now.
The worst part for me at least was her implication that I am not getting my kiddo the help he needs. It makes me feel like a bad mommy.
Don't let her make you feel that way. You know you're doing everything possible because you are a good mom!
How is he doing with his speech therapy? How old is he? ((Hug))
@becks2012 Now that drives me insane. What a horrible feeling and a downright mean person to have made you feel that way. You are absolutely not a bad mommy. I feel like society is so hung up on labeling and diagnosing when everyone needs to remember that ever child learns at their own pace. It is not okay to assume there is something wrong. He'll talk when he's ready.
Today is the Santa Clause parade in Stratford, so if the rain holds off I will take DS! Other than that I likely will make a batch of muffins and something delicious for supper which may include a baked spinach dip because I'm totally craving it! My day otherwise will be filled with entertaining DS, and hoping that DH shows up for a little family bonding time because we rarely see him these days
You guys are so sweet. Thank you. I needed those reminders. He is going to be three in February.
Speech therapy is going... OK for the most part. He has warmed up to his therapist and she thinks he has a touch of apraxia, which is where he understands everything, but his brain has trouble forming words.
Morning ladies! We're still away on our babymoon and I'm supposed to be sleeping in but it's not happening (I did sleep until 8:30 so that's something). We are getting room service breakfast and I may have to order and wake DH up soon because I'm starving!! It's funny how I was so ready for a night away from DD and now I miss her so much I'm dying to get home!!
Morning! I woke up starving, so I've eaten breakfast #1 already. Waiting for everyone else to get up so we can cook breakfast this morning.
I went to my friends wine club last night, had a good time. I went to costco yesterday and spent $100 bucks on crackers, red pepper jelly, sausage links and wine. Mostly on wine....
I brought cheesecake to the wine club instead of wine and I didn't even get a piece yet. I'm looking forward to eating that today. Hopefully I can get to it before my kids! :-<
No plan for today except pick up the house and get ready for this week!
Oh! And watch the Seahawks!
I'm craving cream cheese, crackers and pepper jelly. I think I'll go have a snack before breakfast #2.
Have any of you tried that red pepper jelly from Costco? =P~

No, but the grocery store close to my house had the Harry & David one last week and didn't have it yesterday when I went, which made me sad because I was really craving it. Let me know how it is!
It's so good! You can put it on anything. Fish, pork, chicken.
Bagels. Crackers ect. I'd mix it with cream cheese for those though.

Is it sold at every Costco? I know some have more than others. I live by two of them lol
Im not sure. I know they only carry it once a year for the holidays. Mine was located by all the gourmet cheeses.
Good morning and happy Sunday, y'all! Quick question! Don't want to start a new thread for this but stain removal sprays for clothes...which do you use for your baby's clothes, if any?
I use whatever is on sale. I don't buy special baby stain remover.

I use the sun to get out breastfed stains. I've also used lemon juice and water.
I just had a toasted English muffin with some of that cranberry goat cheese I got yesterday at costco...holy yum! That was definitely a good decision!
DH is gone with one of his friends browsing Cabellas. When he gets home we have to clean the house because his mom and step dad are coming over tomorrow. I hate cleaning for the in laws. I feel like it has to be sparkling. Too bad I'm very pregnant and that isn't happening!

OMG, that is ridiculous. Sorry! But I agree that I wouldn't do a private room for an extra $900/day.
@LaBellaVida, I've tried that Costco pepper jelly. It's pretty good but a little sweet and jelly-ish for my taste.
If you like that, have you tried Thai sweet chili sauce? I like this brand. It's also good poured over cream cheese and served with crackers, or as a dipping sauce for egg rolls or dumplings, or with chicken or pork.
PSA - don't buy the Publix gourmet cinnamon buns unless you have extremely good self-control or you're cool with eating half the package in one sitting.
Did a 5k today with my oldest daughter. Proud of the fact that I can even do it, with my other three, I was so overweight and out of shape. I'm determined to be a different person for #4!!!
I feel like I can barely breathe today sitting at my desk at work - I cannot wait to be done today. I am hoping this breathing is from sitting down, and he is crowding my lungs not that something is wrong

I have same issue because she's up so high on me. It's the worst when I first sit in my car to drive home. I think it's pretty typical but I'm a FTM.
I just need to take a second to bitch. My DH, my DS and I are all sick with colds and these past few days(and nights) have been so rough. Taking care of a sick 10mo when you're also sick (and very pregnant) is the worst. I'm so over it. I can't wait for us all to be healthy again. Ugh.
Uuuugh DH just tried to make me feel quasi-guilty for not wanting to take our dog to the dog park alone. I'm way pregnant, she's 7 months old and 50 pounds of crazy puppy, and I just don't feel like chasing her around the dog park making sure she's not jumping on people or playing too rough. All of this after I did our nanny job posting basically by myself while he was on facebook.
Growth scan tomorrow to check on baby and my VCI. Nervous but excited!

That Thai Swwet Chili Sauce is what I use to baste my shrimp, onion, and bell pepper Kabobs with. I just mix it with a bit of honey to help it stick. Sooooo good!
I took a nap and had a dream that I was able to produce a huge amount of breast milk (like 16 oz at once), but it was all watery, and baby wouldn't latch.

@VioletGjoni I use BunchaFarmers stain removal stick, usually once solid foods start (blueberries etc)

@becks2012 - that sucks! And seems very closed-minded and unfair. Where is the preschool suggesting he go?

Can you tell I have anxiety about BF?
Yes! I've had that stuff! Yum! I've only ever used it for egg rolls. Good to know it's good on other things too.
