I think that is part of why so many people fail the one hour test but then pass the 3 hour one. I also wonder if the doctors use difference scales to measure the change in blood sugar levels if they ask you to fast and if the ask you to eat normally?
I also failed my screening today. But my doctor said that 85% of women who fail the first test pass the second. I have no risk factors so I'm not too worried, but I do faint at the sight of blood so getting my blood drawn, especially on an empty stomach, will be no picnic. I'm right there with you, girl! Good luck!
Thanks everyone! I ended up speaking with my doctor (a 3rd time) expressing my concerns. She agreed to let me just get bloodwork done which checks your sugar levels the last 2-3 months. I did that this morning ( though I nearly passed out after the blood draw and ended up throwing up in the car afterwards) I PASSED! I am so relieved and happy. I pray that you all have safe and healthy pregnancies as well!
I had the 2 hour test done and just this Monday was told my number was high.I have been referred to a diabetes doctor and was given the tools to check my sugar levels and ketone levels and of course told to watch my food intake. Which I don't even know where to start. How ever I am stressed out and depressed about it because I'm still in denial and I think I should've been given the opportunity to re-test again!
