I can't wait to try fried turkey on Thanksgiving. My cousin is frying one and roasting the other. I will probably hate myself afterwards when I throw up.

Our hot water is acting up and the plumber was supposed to come wed. and didn't, then yesterday and didn't, he is supposed to come today and he better because I cried washing dishes in ice cold water this morning. Guess the emotional symptom has set in.

We built a house and recently moved in but we've been too busy/ cheap/ lazy to get window treatments. This place is like a damn nudist colony. We are dealing with it on Monday, finally. I am sure my neighbor will be really disappointed he no longer gets a free show.

I dropped my smoothie all the way down the stairs to the basement this morning. This is, by a large margin, the largest mess I have ever created. It was so over the top that I had to laugh. Luckily I have dogs to at least help me clean part of this mess up.

I'd like to share our joy. I just gave birth to a beautiful week old poo baby. He's a healthy 19 inches, 7 lbs, 2 oz. We named him Luke. We will be creating custom birth announcements on Shutterfly. Oh happy day!

I think I'm getting a cold. I've been sniffly for a few days and started coughing a bit yesterday, and now I have this pain in my chest that feels like congestion. I know Mucinex is safe in pregnancy but I'm still wary of taking anything unless I absolutely have to. My normal cold coping strategy is to load up on Advil & Sudafed, but that's obviously out. I'm kind of a baby about colds, but in my defense they always seem to get terrible and last forever for me.

I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 9 people next week (only two of whom know that I'm pregnant, so I have to try and act normal.) Ugh, please don't let me be sick on top of everything!

Nah, just jump in and start posting and everyone will get to know you. I know it always feels like you are walking into a room full of people who know each other and everybody is going to be like "who are you, why are you talking to me?" but it's not like that. There are some people here who have been around TB a long time and made friends and stuff, but this board has only existed for a couple weeks- most of us are still getting to know each other.

DH is working a half day and will be home in a couple hours. DD is taking her morning nap. I COULD clean up the kitchen, make the bed, dust, shower, and put away laundry. OR, I could just lay in an already rumpled bed and enjoy alone time with the TV. I'm choosing my own adventure.

I did this with a large container of spaghetti sauce when bringing in groceries. This resulted in a $1500 expense to put in new carpet. Ugh.

I'm going over to a friend's house for a small get together tomorrow night, and I think I will be looked at with much suspicion when I refuse a drink. I'm planning to drive over so I can use the DD excuse, but I wonder how long this can last before someone outright asks me if I'm KTFU.

And do I lie? Or do I just come on out with it? My parents don't even know yet, so I'm thinking I'll lie, if I can.

@dancingbelle I feel the same way. I've been more of a lurker but I'm trying to get out there some more. Thanks for the reassurance, @petrichor14!

For me, our friends knew we were trying (will never tell them again BTW!) and I had a friend ask straight out two different times. I just said "no news yet!" Same said friend called me out when I passed on a drink, and even though we were TTC at the time I said "I just want to be healthy in case I do get pregnant". Hopefully that made sense...it looks like a bunch of ramblings.

We are staying with a family member while her parents are out of town for the next two weeks. Last night, someone calls the house at 11:45 from an out of state and area code and when DH answered the phone they immediately hung up. At 4AM car pulls up the driveway (which is in the middle of nowhere and hidden - so it is HIGHLY unlikely you'll pull all the way up to the house if you're lost. It's a quarter of a mile long.) with NO HEADLIGHTS ON and my great dane goes bananas. Come to find out, she has been 'talking' to a guy that recently got out of prison. JEEZ. Now, I did not sleep a wink last night and doesn't look like I will for the next week.

Normally I would say you won't regret eating a fried turkey, it is heaven. But being pregnant, I can't bare the thought of eating anything let alone fried food. I'm dreading Thanksgiving. Good luck, and I hope you love it (because it's genuinely fabulous!!)

Also, yesterday my boss gave me homemade stuffed shells that his wife made for lunch. Today a coworker bought me chips and a soda. I haven't told them I'm pregnant, maybe I look it?!?!

The other people in my office are decorating a Christmas tree. There's no way I'm helping. First of all, Thanksgiving hasn't even passed! Second of all, my coworkers have already passed judgement on me being pregnant because I'm 25 and apparently going to "miss out" on some fabulous adventure.

DD is in the middle of the terrible threes. I swear it has gotten worse since I got pregnant. She doesn't know about the baby yet, maybe she senses it because I have not been feeling well. Still her tantrums are bad and time out is not working. Can I sell her to be circus? Just kidding, sort of.

A lot of the same people who told DH and I that we were too young to get married (we were 22), are the same nosy people asking where the babies are. Oh so now you think I'm old enough to make big life decisions? Kiss my ass.

So many people have already left work for the day so I am leaving too and going shopping. Also, got all the Christmas shopping done for my nieces and nephews yesterday!

How are you all keeping up with the threads? I'm about ready to sort by "original post" instead of "most recent" because I feel like I am missing important stuff because everyone is commenting on the annoyingly repetitive things (me included) and not the stuff that actually looking for love and support.

I always said with my SD, "Terrible twos were cupcakes, Threes were torturous, Here's hoping for Forgiving Fours!" She's 4 now....there hasn't been any forgiving....she just gets sassier. She's so manipulative for a little kid too! She particularly throws out to me, "You're not my mommy! I don't care." Except my favorite that lands my DH the look of death if he doesn't do something...."Shel shel you suck." Thanks BM for teaching your child such lovely standards that she brings to our house!

We borrowed the car off DH today to do the grocery shopping and now it's time to get it back to him, before it gets too dark. However, it's cold and snowing outside and I have NO desire to go out for a run back from his work with DD in the stroller. Even if it is only 3km away. Oh,the hardships!

DH got a job offer today!!! He's been unhappy at his current place of employment and has been interviewing all over the place, like literally all over the country and I've been freaking out because we just bought a house earlier this year so I wasn't really excited about moving. Thankfully this offer is in state and within driving range! Hooray!

I switch between "original post" and "most recen"t every once in a while. I can't keep it on "most recent" for too long because it drives me crazy.

My boss is being a jerk, again. He thinks it's my responsibility to make sure the company is complying with the state requirements that allow us to give out license plates (I work at a dealership). I could care less if the company is in compliance, I'm the title clerk.I also don't have the authority to talk to the state about this. Not helping him.
