Jack Randall Harris??

i've asked a few co workers about this and the concensus is that it sounds like a serial killer LOL but i kind of want to see other people's opinions on this.  It's hard to find strong 1st names for boys that go well with Harris.  And both of our dads' names are Randall so i can get the 'who are you naming him after' out of the way in one fell swoop! 

another one i'm contemplating but not 100% on is Sirrah. You see, it's Harris spelled backwards and i'm not sure if it'll be setting up my daughter for years of ridicule or if it's cool like Pax or Shiloh :)

    I like Jack - seems trendy on the bump but I only know of one IRL in my area so far. With Sirrah...how would you pronounce it? Not sure how I feel about that. She'd be explaining her name a lot I think.

    i know jack is kind of trendy right now and i'm not usually one to follow trends but my DH's grandfather passed away last spring and his name was jack and i also think it's a strong, classy name that'll stick around forever.

    Sirrah would be pronounced (See-rah) kind of like Sarah with an accent of sorts haha.  i'm not sure. we're not pregnant yet so we have plenty of time to duke it out!! :)

    Sorry, Sirrah is awful. People will always mispronounce it.

    I don't get the serial killer reference, the name sounds fine to me!

    Not sure how in the world that could sound like a serial killer.  It's a perfectly lovely name.  I think Jack is a nickname, so I'd use Jackson or John and use Jack as a nickname, but even without that, I think it's a very nice name.

    Sirrah is awful.  Really.  But I don't think Pax or Shiloh are cool at all.  Also, would the child's name be Sirrah Harris?  If so, that's really bad.  You're basically naming her the same thing twice.

    And finally -- if Harris is really your last name, you should delete this post.  It's not wise to put that much personal information on the internet.

    I see Sirrah and think Syrah. ?But, then, I do like my wines, so maybe I would consider it, in the same way I'd consider Pinot or Franc.

    yes, Sirrah Harris. Like Stanley Yelnats from the book Holes? I was asking for opinions not a spelling lesson.

    Serial killer?? Why on earth?

    So Sirrah would be a girls' name? Sorry; really don't like it for either. And I think any name composed of spelling another name backwards is a bit ... cheesy. Sorry.

    yeah i'm not sure where the serial killer came in at my job lol but i dont hear it either.  i love the name.  and yes,  Sirrah would (metaphorically) be a girls name (hoping for boys anyway!!)  but i just thought it needed some more opinions on it.  Kind of a harmless joke that maybe could have turned into an idea.  but oh well, i guess it's crossed off now :)

    A name that is similar to Sirrah is Sierra.. do you like that name? It's a lot of R sounds with your last name, though!

    Also, for Sirrah: ?Read "Holes" by Louis Sachar or see the movie. ?Stanley Yelnats and your daughter would have a lot in common. ? I'm not a big fan - I think it's likely people will botch her name and/or ridicule....
